At first glance, Silicobra looks like an underwhelming Pokemon in the LC metagame, though it does have some traits that can give it a small niche. The main draw of Silicobra being that it is one of two Pokemon with access to Glare meaning that it can function as a way of speed control for a team by spreading accurate paralysis. Its decent physical bulk combined with a Ground-typing and access to Coil also makes Silicobra a decent check to some physical attackers like Onix, Drilbur, and Timburr. The given EV spread allows it to take two Close Combats from Galarian Farfetch'd while maximizing Silicobra's physical bulk.
Silicobra needs partners to handle Grass- and Water-types that threaten it such as Chinchou and Wingull. Ferroseed is an excellent partner for Silicobra, as it can handle Chinchou and its hazard support can help rack up damage with Silicobra's Glare forcing switches. Chinchou also works as a general Water-type check, also adding Volt Switch momentum that can get Silicobra in on an opponent that it can set up on. It also can threaten the Flying-types that Silicobra cannot touch with Earthquake. Croagunk is also a great partner for Silicobra, taking both Water- and Grass-type attacks and threatening those Pokemon with powerful STAB moves while also benefitting from Silicobra's ability to slow down faster threats.
