Silly Things You've Seen In Other Metagames

Unfezant is NU, right? So wouldn't that mean its base stats are 95/130/95/80/70/107? That actually sounds fairly decent, though I don't know what its movepool is like, having not used once since... umm... since... well, I'm not sure I've even used one in-game.

Then again, Tier Shift's average speed tier might be like 150 or something, so I could be way off the mark.

Not really a tier shift player but i just wanted to drop in and say that infezant's movepool is indeed really bad.

It doesnt even learn Brave Bird/Acrobatics and has absolutely no good coverage outside of its STABs :x.

Well it does have respectable moves... on the special side, and even then, it needs Heat Wave and Hidden Power for actual coverage. Never mind the base 65 Special Attack. That Attack stat means jack when you don't have the moves for it *cough* Flareon *cough*

And then there's this battle, with Poison Point Roserade, Weak Armor Omastar, and more hax than you can shake a Farfetch'd's Stick at. (okay, that was bad, sorry)

Meanwhile, in 1v1, Cloyster uses Surf right off the bat. No Shell Smash, either. And it went up against a Conkeldurr, doing about 22%. You can probably guess how that turned out. (To be fair, I can understand not using SS because Mach Punch, but Surf?)

And finally, Sleep Powder in STABmons. That is all.

Unless it's a rain team weak armor is best (lol shell armor)

You know what, I'll count this as more of a niche set rather than a legit, STABmons thread worthy set, so that's why you're seeing the following in the "silly things" thread. Plus I post most of my gimmicks (i.e. specs steelix, specs blissey) in the silly things thread first.
At last, after all the struggles my diggersby has faced, all the failures my Stoutland has endured, I have found the perfect counter to arguably the best check to normal spam in the tier: Sableye. Sableye messes all the sweeps up with its topsy-turvy, it simply cripples things with its dark void, it renders pokemon useless with its will-o-wisp, and it's extremely hard to kill because of Recover. But after this counter was added to my team, all momentum created by sableye was erased from existance, and Sableye could actually be forced out through switching, resulting in a free hit on whatever comes in. The pokemon I am talking about is...

THE FACE OF FURY (Wigglytuff) @ Choice Scarf / Life Orb / Expert Belt
Ability: Competitive
EVs: 252 Def / 252 SpA / 4 SpD (or you could run max speed if you're running scarf)
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Sleep Talk
- Fire Blast (dunno why I have this again, after all I do have magnezone to trap skarm)
- Boomburst

Let's see what Sableye uses... Will-o-wisp, Parting Shot, Dark Void, Topsy-Turvy, Knock Off, Foul Play. I'll go through these 1 by 1:
Will-o-wisp: Wigglytuff doesn't get crippled by burns. Eat a moonblast while you're at it too.

Parting Shot: Thx for the +3 SpA. Whatever comes in dies now.

Dark Void: Sleep talk somewhat remedies it. Still the biggest problem with this though (Even though sleep talk works most of the time since they won't stay in anyways). Taunt + Dark Void can beat you though.

Topsy-Turvy: It doesn't have to boost to kill physically defensive variants, so...

Knock Off/Foul Play: Just absolutely abysmal damage. Don't even try.

just a replay because why not (though this is a pretty bad example since I was still 1100-1200 at the time, also dazzling gleam because I forgot it was STABmons)

Tornadus-I, switching Togekiss in on Tyranitar (not a smart idea even with the normal type chart), and then the flinch hax.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/hackmons-144149335
Mean Look Giratina (never mind, it was perish trap), Shadow Sneak Umbreon that used Topsy-Turvy on a Darkrai that wasn't boosting, Outrage Mega Tyranitar, Mold Breaker Mega Mawile, Draco Meteor+V-create Mega Gardevoir (at least it was Contrary), and Sturdy Gliscor with Guillotine.

Normal>Dragon, and the star of the show: Staravia.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-144148252
Power Trick+Diamond Storm Shell Bell Speed Boost Shuckle, multiple failures of Magic Bounce, Giratina trying to Rapid Spin on Shedinja, Nasty Plot Mega Mewtwo X that appeared to be fully special, and Quick Claw Blissey.

I can't explain this one. Just watch. Though it is 87 turns long.

Head Smash Hydreigon, and this guy having absolutely nothing for that Honchkrow.

...I'm done here.

hail only gives blizzard 100% accuracy. It does not make it never miss.
http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Blizzard_(move)

Starting in Gen 5: "Blizzard will ignore accuracy and evasion checks under Hail."

Also, after watching so many Hackmon/Balanced Hackmon battles, how do people not understand how Wonder Guard works? There's even a command that shows you everything that can hit a Wonder Guarded Pokemon...
