Simple Question, Simple Answer Thread Advance

Alright, thanks for the quick response. This means that Metagross I got from my friend is hacked... Back to my "breeding board", then. Thank (diety) for Adamant Dittos with 31 Attack IVs. Seriously, that Ditto was my only lucky break for Frontier preparation.
Sorry for that bit of bad news, but good luck on your breeding!

Is this good for sweeping?

Ampharos @ Leftovers
~Thunderbolt
~Ice Punch
~HP Grass
~Brick Break

I love Amph for sweeping!

Ampharos doesn't sweep. It has no stat enhancing moves and would otherwise be too slow to make good use of Petaya berry activations. Also, Break Break is useless, considering it's Attack isn't spectacular.

Furthermore, Ampharos does not learn Ice Punch.

In XD: Gale of Darkness when are the natures and IVs of a Pokemon determined: 1) At the very begining of the game. 2) When you capture the Pokemon or 3) When the Pokemon is purified?

I hope it is number three or I have a lot of work ahead of me.

They are determined when you meet the pokemon in combat. Or rather, when you face the trainer holding the pokemon. So, if you save before facing them, you can restart the battle to get good IVs/Nature/etc.

(Of course, the "Hot Spot" pokes operate like usual random encounters.)

That is incorrect.

The PokeSpot encounters can be saved-before, after announcement of a Pokemon with the munchies starting at the Poke Snacks. Doing so will lock its nature, gender, and species. Level and IVs will be randomly determined. This is how I'm conducting a Jolly Hoppip soft-reset in XD.

If you have enough Frontier Symbols, the little wagering house on the far right should help. Don't bet if you aren't really confident you'll win, but if you are, you can make a lot of points really quickly.

Pike is really luck-based and sometimes gets you nowhere, but you can also hit a bunch of empty rooms and bust through it really quickly. Probably what I would recommend, if you have a decent team raised up, is going double battles through Tower or Dome. It should be relatively quick and not overly frustrating. Doubles Battle Factory is also good if you don't have appropriate monsters of your own.

Doubles are a lot quicker than singles, especially if you can bust out some high-powered Earthquake action or the like and kill your opponent off quickly. For example, I found that CB Aero + DD Salamence as leads were great for just ripping through stuff since Rock Slide and Earthquake will hit both enemies. That particular pairing has the advantage that neither of them gets hit by the other's Earthquakes, and lead Intimidate on both opponents is always nice. I haven't really played around with Explosion shenanigans, but the classic Explode/Protect combo should also kill things in a hurry.

When are the IVs and natures of NPC trades determined? specifically, Duking in XD.

Also where the fuck do I get Wooper in XD Serebii and NP conflict =[

Upon receiving the Pokemon. You can SR for them.

Cave Poke Spot.

Is that also the case in FRLG? (I don't think there are any significant trades in RSE, but I could be mistaken.) Are those trades also SRable? It seems that the natures are fixed (Zynx is Mild, Mr. Mime is Timid...), but I haven't actually confirmed whether or not the IVs are variable.

In Colosseum, if you choose not to save after battling the 100 trainers at Mt. Battle and go directly back to continue your game after it was transferred to your PC, can you soft reset and try again if the stats suck?

I think you can save right before #100 and reset for it... Not 100% sure, though.

ok i'm playing an Emerald game and decided to breed for a Milotic.

This is what i got after some time:

Milotic-Bold
IVs

HP: 29
ATK: 29
DEF: 29
S.ATK: 24
S.DEF: 17
SPD: 28

Should i keep this or continue breeding with this since it has such low S.DEF?

Thanks in advance

Does synchronize work on XD?
I going to re-start my game and in my past file I noticedd that a lot of pokes doesn't have the nature of my eevee/evo....

But if it doesn't...how do you get the right natures when SR?

No, and by luck.

Nice...this is going to be fun.
Lorak, now I see that your pokes were caught with effort..

Edit: How do you check the IV's, is there a method like the LV.5 stats or something?
Or do you simply check them in a calculator?

Is it possible to catch Latios/Latias in the Safari Zone? Just curious since I caught my Latias in the first encounter.
