Hey don't worry man. This place is where silly questions are meant to be asked ;)
In all honesty, the item choice is heavily dependent on:
a.) What your Hydreigon is trying to accomplish
b.) What your team struggles with

Dragon Gem should be used when you need to boost up that Uber-Strong Draco Meteor to even higher levels. Use Dragon Gem if your Hydreigon is trying to lure something in. Let's say Pokemon X is able to take a non-Gem Draco and respond. You need to fix this and by giving it a Dragon Gem, Pokemon X could switch in only to be demolished.

White Herb is really useful for those icky I-could-get-a-2HKO-and-I-can't-switch-out.
Let's say Draco Meteor on Pokemon Y is a 3HKO. You need to 2HKO it and either KO it or heavily damage it. You also cannot afford to lose momentum. This is where White Herb would be real handy. Note that this should be used sparingly and cautiously. You must know what Pokemon your Hydreigon attracts and see when to unleash a Draco Meteor.

Chople/Yache Berry is very dependent on what your team can't handle and what you could do once you survive. Let's say your team can't take Fighting moves. Thus you would use Chople to take a hit and KO in retaliation. This removes a Fighting Type and eliminates a threat that your team couldn't handle.
A good example is CS Terrakion vs Hydreigon. With Chople you'll take the Scarfed CC and in turn you can OHKO with Draco. If your team struggles with Terrakion, Hydreigon will act as a great lure-and-kill. The same can apply to Yache.

My Hydreigon is my team's main special attacker since Starmie functions for other things.

I read over what you've said and I do seem to have problems with fighting pokemon more than anything else with Hydreigon, so perhaps using a Chopple Berry is the best idea...but does the berry counter the CC enough?

I only have one more question.

I also run a swords dance lucario but i'm having trouble deciding what it's last move should be.

I'm leaning more towards Ice Punch to deal with Ground pokemon, which is one of the few elements to give my team trouble, but there's something that's bothering me.

Could Bullet Punch without being boosted take out a Terrakion at full health with a Life Orb, though countering one pokemon isn't a good idea..

Use this site to calculate damage. As for the set, I think Ice Punch is good for grounds and dragons, but Lucario really isn't fast enough to hit most of them. I would personally just use Crunch to hit things like Jellicent, which otherwise wall you.

Does anyone know a good page where I can calc a Pokemon Speed when it has a Scarf or gets its Speed boosted. Im testing SandRush Sandslash and I want to know what I can outspeed.

Choice Scarf = Speed x 1.5

Speed boosts follow this equation:

Speed=stat x (1+.5n) where n is the number of boosts.

Since Sandslash has 229 speed (Adamant) then multiplied by 2 would make it 458 in the sand.

Thanks HoL for the info. Back to teambuilding for me.

For reference, the games always round the final result down in this case. For example, max Speed Zoroark has 339 Speed. Choice Scarf is a 1.5x boost, so Scarf Zoroark would have 508.5 Speed. However, because the Pokemon games round down, it has only 508 Speed. The more you know~

As a long time sandslash user, 252 jolly reaches 500 speed. It's outsped by scarf terrak/keldeo and above. Also scarf mienshao and zoro, forgot about those

I have a question, when someone has a slash through their name and Banned Deucer under it, does that mean they've been banned? If so, why does it say Banned Deucer? Is it supposed to be a play on banned user? I was slightly confused when I first saw it.

It means that the user is banned :] Deucer is mostly a joke.

Thanks to Harsha for the information c:

Hey guys, I have a question, but I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place to put it. First off, I'm new to competitive battling and am trying to set up an OU team. Dragonite, one of my pokemon on my team, is better off with the ability multiscale. Apparently, I can only get this in Dream World or a hidden grotto in BW2. Since it's a hidden ability, can I see if my pokemon has it? Or will it not say?

Also, I am looking to triple IV breed my dragonite. How should I do this if I want the ability multiscale on my dragonite. I already have all 6 dittos with maxed IV's in all 6 different stats, if that helps. I have also bred a triple IV dragonite, but of course, with the wrong ability. I'm looking for any info that will make this clearer to me.

Thanks,

Chris

"Hidden" ability is just a term for it. It will definetely be displayed.

To IV a Multiscale Dragonite, you need a female Dragonite with Multiscale and a male non-ditto partner (female mons have a 60% chance to pass on the hidden abilities to the child when not paired with Ditto).

Hi Chris, welcome!

Talking about the Hidden Ability, it is hidden only because you can only find it in the dream world or Hidden Grottoes but you can see it in the summary of your pokemon like any other ability. About the IVs and breeding, sorry, i don't know too much about that because i make all this thinks of evs and stuff on the simulator (i don't breed or search max evs on the game).

Hopefully, another person will answer this question. Good luck!

Anyone have an old OU Excadrill sandstorm set? I need it for a battle. No very specific threats need to be countered im playing against my brother a total noob thats gonna use Nidorino. LOL

What's the best team I can fit DualScreen Espeon in? And on that note, do I need a rapid spinner in case things go pear-shaped?

Also, which is the better choice, Psychic or Psyshock?

Definitely HO teams. Slap a Cloyster, a dragon/quiver dancer or two and let them set up during your screens

I would actually use baton pass and substitute, to make your set up sweepers even more resilient.
