I was just looking at some usage stats and then realised how good sinistchas mu into grounds was. Then I thought to myself. Who benefits from having grounds checked: Bolt on volt switch spam. I slowly built a volt-turn offense that performed well on the ladder. I got to my highest ever elo with this team (1577) going 7-1 when I wrote this and zero signs of slowing down.( I then went on a epic ladder tilt cus I can't play the game right after waking up. I made around 4 versions, this is the one that felt personally the best but definetly still has issues, I got to my highest elo ever with it but it is very easy to lose with when not playing well. )This team got 60ish% of the testing as I realised how fun it is to play. It ended up as a boots spam with no removal but because Sinistcha is so good at blocking spin, if they wanna remove they usually have to fog removing our hazards too.
Note before starting: Cinderace, meow or valiant may honestly be better then ogerpon here but ogerpon was most fun for me, the rest of the team just works so well together you honestly just need something fast and physical for that slot.
Cuppa (Sinistcha) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Heatproof
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
Tera Type: Poison
- Calm Mind
- Matcha Gotcha
- Shadow Ball
- Strength Sap
Sinistcha: The guy the team is built around. Super solid spin blocker, occasional set-up sweeper and the teams main physical wall. Beats every ground type(expect gliscor). Matcha gotcha burns are always super valuable especially with helping break the special mons(kyureum, moth, bolt, darkrai, specs pult) that switch in on it ( at least before it gets a calm mind or two). It is our only set-up and if positioned well, often in the mid game, can punch holes in teams that make it easy for the pivot spam and/or hazards to win. Also good garg matchup, yay. Tera poison at full health lets you beat pech, boots darkrai and tera dark cb hoopa 1v1 at +0.
Cool calc: 252 SpA Tera Ghost Iron Valiant Shadow Ball vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Sinistcha: 296-350 (85.5 - 101.1%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO
0 SpA Sinistcha Shadow Ball vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Tera Ghost Iron Valiant: 306-360 (105.8 - 124.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO
Viktor vibes (Raging Bolt) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Protosynthesis
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 20 Atk
Tera Type: Fairy
- Thunderbolt
- Thunderclap
- Volt Switch
- Dragon Pulse
Raging Bolt: Our main special breaker and priority as well as a solid tank especially for guys burned by Sinistcha. Great at getting in, being threatening, then pivoting out on switch ins. Draco meteor is my usual dragon move on boots bolt but bolt doesn’t need the power as it often is clicked expecting grounds and grasses that Sinistcha checks. Most others also have non-perfectly accurate moves and I’d prefer to limit unnecessary ones. Tera fairy is solid on it and helps against one of our big threats: specs pult.
Steel Headband (Iron Crown) @ Leftovers
Ability: Quark Drive
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 20 Atk
Tera Type: Dark
- Tachyon Cutter
- Psychic Noise
- Focus Blast
- Volt Switch
Iron Crown: Our secondary special breaker and our secondary special wall. Switches into the ice type moves neither of the first 2 can take as well, covering a lot of needed resists such as fairy and dragon. Leftovers seemed interesting and I really wanted to try it. Crown is also fine against hazards so it doesn’t need boots. It's pretty fast and also very offensively threatening against the frail breakers that the team being kinda slow is weak too. It also is another (weaker) volt switcher and benefits from the ground stopping of Sinistcha. Helps with gliscor which the first 2 both struggle with. Being immune to toxic then psychic noising through sub and preventing recovery (I want sub tox glis to die slowly and painfully). Tera dark for an emergency shadow ball and sucker punch resist.
He's just Gliscor (Gliscor) @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 244 HP / 36 Def / 228 SpD
Careful Nature
Tera Type: Water
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Toxic
- Protect
Gliscor: Listen this set is chill, our knock/status absorber, main special tank and rocks setter. Needed for the special threats that threaten Sinistcha while also forcing status and setting hazards and providing extremely important earthquake progress making mons get ever closer to dying to pivot moves for the endgame. Tera water helps against opposing h-samurott, darkrai, sun and ceruledge. This, ogerpon and sinistcha are the main tera users. It likes the rocks it sets being so hard to spin away allowing it to click its more fun buttons more often.
Ts will be ceased (Samurott-Hisui) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Sharpness
EVs: 220 Atk / 36 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
Tera Type: Poison
- Ceaseless Edge
- Razor Shell
- Sacred Sword
- Aqua Jet
Hisuian-Samurott: A solid glue pokemon that sets spikes to be abused by the amount of switching that's forced by the pivot spam. Our only resist the dark and ghost moves that threaten Sinistcha, a secondary priority mon and our main gambit and ghold checks. Aqua jet over sucker punch for better darkrai, sd gliscor, weavile and valiant insurance. Sacred sword to OHKO non-tera gambit. Tera poison because it is generally a solid tera on Samurott. Note: lack of sucker makes specs pult one of this teams hardest matchup.
The one who defies (Ogerpon) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
Tera Type: Grass
- Ivy Cudgel
- Knock Off
- U-turn
- Encore
Ogerpon: This one is the most replaceable but the best mon I found for this slot in my testing but who knows, maybe I just got good ogerpon games. Valiant,Meow and Cinderace may also work here, being faster but having different matchup spreads. Ogerpon is here because with tera it is the fastest boots mon, encore/knock and pivoting as well as put more pressure on checks to grass types when combined with sinistcha. It is a really solid late game cleaner on this team, helps into cress and brings birds in to knock to later force out with crown and bolt, racking up rocks chip. Can tera against specs pult to OHKO with 2 layers of hazards up. Also creates some cool mindgames with who has knock, this or samurott.

Big Threats:
Lokix
Just one big genre of pokemon which is fast and frail choiced breakers: i.e. pult, weavile, darkrai, samurott, meowscarada, valiant. They can come in after a k.o and be hard to revenge k.o due to our lack of strong speed control and weakness filled walls. Most of our resists to these threats big scary, moves don’t have recovery so…
Darkrai and pult are the big ones from this list.
Tornadus: Nasty Plot sets do major damage to our answer in bolt and av sets can pivot on our volt switch mons forever, slowly wearing them down.
