[OVERVIEW]

Slaking seems like an appealing option at first glance due to its sky-high Attack stat, great bulk, and expansive movepool. Unfortunately, any sort of viability Slaking could have is completely undermined by Truant, making it immobile every other turn and hopeless against users of Protect and Substitute. This can also be taken advantage of by the opposing team to generate momentum for powerful threats such as Alolan Exeggutor and Crabominable if Slaking predicts incorrectly, and Pokemon such as Gurdurr, Lycanroc, and Omastar can use Slaking as setup fodder. Because of Truant, Slaking has little to no reason to be used over other Normal-types like Stoutland and Kangaskhan.

[SET]
name: All-out Attacker
move 1: Return / Retaliate
move 2: Pursuit / Sucker Punch
move 3: Earthquake
move 4: Fire Blast
item: Life Orb
ability: Truant
nature: Naive
evs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

An all-out attacking set can best utilize Slaking's large offensive movepool, as most other options, including Choice Band, are even easier to exploit due to Truant. For this reason, other attackers such as Stoutland and Aggron are heavily preferred, as they possess abilities that aid them in wallbreaking rather than being hindrances, thus allowing them to perform far more consistently.

Unfortunately, any sort of viability Slaking could have is completely undermined by Truant, making it immobile every other turn and hopeless against users of Protect and Substitute. This also makes Slaking easy to play around and total setup fodder for Pokemon such as Gurdurr, Omastar, and Lycanroc. Because of Truant, Slaking has little to no reason to be used over other Normal-types like Stoutland and Kangashkan. (something something slaking also generates free turns for extremely strong wallbreakers like aggron too)

[SET COMMENTS]
An all-out attacking set can best utilize Slaking's large offensive movepool, as most other viable options are rendered useless by Truant (choiced sets are even easier to abuse). For this reason, other wallbreakers such as Stoutland and Aggron are heavily preferred, as they possess abilities that aid them in wallbreaking, rather than being hindrances.

(Also mention how truant can screw u over if u get a wrong predicted switch)Because of Truant, Slaking has little to no reason to be used over other Normal-types like Stoutland and Kangashkan.

An all-out attacking set can best utilize Slaking's large offensive movepool, as most other viable options(there are no viable options), including Choice Band, are rendered ineffective or easy to exploit due to Truant.(The aoa set is also exploitable to truant, so...) For this reason, other wallbreakers such as Stoutland and Aggron are heavily preferred, (This makes it sound like they re just preferred over the cb set, rather than overall)as they possess abilities that aid them in wallbreaking, rather than being hindrances.
