Slaking:

Slaking can either be a dead weight or an incredible powerhouse for a team. It's ability is the biggest thing in question; Truant only allows it to attack once every two turns. If you can remove it, you quite possibly have a powerhouse on your hand; otherwise, Slaking is mostly a dead weight every other turn.

Base Stats:

HP: 150
Atk: 160
Defense: 100
SpAtk: 95
SpDef: 65
Spd: 100

Moveset:

Slaking @ Life Orb
Ability: Truant
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 SDef
Nature: Adamant
- Return
- Earthquake
- Shadow Claw
- Protect

Moveset Explanation:

Return is your strongest move on Slaking. Backed by it's massive Attack, it will do serious damage to things that don't resist it. Probably your first move choice.

Earthquake is a good move against Metagross and the few fire types seen in VGC. It is a spread move so watch out for your partners.

Shadow Claw is mainly for Dusknoir and Gengar, who are immune to Return. Dusknoir isn't immune to Earthquake(though Gengar is), but it takes much more damage from Shadow Claw than Earthquake.

Protect helps if you need to save your HP. Generally used after you have tried to remove Slaking's ability.

Notes:

Don't use Slaking unless you plan on removing Truant. The best way to go about this is to have your partner use the move Gastro Acid; it removes the affects of Truant completely when you target the move at Slaking. Take a look at this page [smogon movedex] to see the Pokemon who can know Gastro Acid.

Once you remove Truant, then start heavily damaging the opponent. Return/Earthquake/Shadow Claw hit a lot, even including Shedinja. If possible, keep Slaking away from special type moves because that is it's weakest stat.
