Slowking!
Okay, I've been testing some other pokémon at the moment, but this pokémon has consistently been one of my favorites, and has almost always gotten 2-3 kills if I bring it out at the correct moment in a match. Let's have a closer look...
HP: 95 Atk: 75 Def: 80 SpA: 100 SpD: 110 Spe: 30
At first, Slowking seems somewhat outclassed by Slowbro, since its defensive typing and movepool makes this archetype a somewhat more effective physical wall than a special one. However, crucially Slowking gets Nasty Plot, letting it take Trick Room offense to a whole new level, whilst simultaneously posing as a defensive non-threat.
Slowking @ Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA (0 Spe IVs)
Quiet Nature (+SpA, -Spe)
- Trick Room
- Nasty Plot
- Surf
- Psyshock / Psychic
Come in on something that doesn't threaten you and set up a Nasty Plot or Trick Room, depending on what the opponent might do. Slowking's bulky enough to take a hit or two if need be, letting him get a boost or two before finally activating Trick Room and sweeping. With Surf and Psyshock, Slowking gets decent STAB coverage, the ability to defeat common switchins like Chansey with ease, and the ability to defeat offense teams with his catatonic speed. If Chansey isn't an issue, Psychic is probably superior since it lets you hit stuff like Tangrowth etc harder, but the ability to lure and defeat Chansey is probably worth it. Lum Berry can also be used to block status and give you time to get a possible extra boost.
Whilst Slowbro may outclass it with other sets, its very presence helps to make Offensive Slowbro more of a dark horse. Slowking can also run Slowbro's other sets fairly well, with an emphasis on special defense and using its typing to block physical threats. Using Nasty Plot somehow is recommended, since otherwise Slowbro will often prove to be the superior option.
That said, Slowking pulls off this set incredibly well and I can wholeheartedly recommend it just for that. <3
