Slowpoke @ Eviolite
Ability: Regenerator
Level: 5
EVs: 116 HP / 76 Def / 116 SpA / 196 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Slack Off
- Teleport
- Future Sight
- Scald / Fire Blast
Slowpoke finds its role in the Little Cup metagame as a great defensive pivot to check Pokemon like Onix, Vulpix, and Abra while also offering Future Sight support. Thanks to reliable recovery from Regenerator and Slack Off, Slowpoke is able to have incredible longevity for maintaining its role as a defensive pivot. Future Sight pairs well with Teleport to apply offensive pressure and force in Dark- and Steel-types that its teammates can then take advantage of. Scald hits Fire-, Rock-, and Ground-types like Ponyta and Onix super effectively and has a notable chance to burn and cripple switch-ins, notably Pawniard and Vullaby. Fire Blast can be an alternative to Scald for hitting Steel- and Grass-types like Pawniard, Ferroseed, and Grookey super effectively. Fighting-types like Mienfoo and Timburr pair well with Slowpoke to handle the Dark- and Steel-types forced in by Future Sight, provide Knock Off support, and absorb Knock Off as well while appreciating the Teleport support for themselves.
