Mega Alakazam is one of SM OU's most lethal wallbreakers thanks to its ridiculously high Special Attack and Speed, letting it blaze past some of the fastest Pokemon in the tier like Mega Lopunny, Greninja, and Tapu Koko. It's further helped by its great ability in Trace; copying abilities like Regenerator from Toxapex, Swift Swim from Mega Swampert, and Flash Fire from Heatran gives it many opportunities to either switch in and wallbreak or revenge kill weather sweepers. Focus Blast rips through Ferrothorn and Heatran, while Shadow Ball does great damage to Pokemon like Jirachi and Tapu Lele. Recover lets Mega Alakazam stay healthy throughout a game to consistently pivot into defensive Pokemon like Toxapex and Tangrowth. Mega Alakazam struggles to get through bulky Steel-types like Magearna, Celesteela, and Mega Scizor; Tapu Lele can soften them up for it to sweep in addition to providing Psychic Terrain support. Zapdos and Rotom-W switch into and threaten them while also bringing Mega Alakazam in safely on Pokemon like Tapu Koko. A Magearna of your own can also help to pivot into opposing Magearna and other threats to Mega Alakazam like Choice Scarf Tapu Lele and Greninja.

Mega Alakazam is one of SM OU's most lethal wallbreakers thanks to its ridiculously high Special Attack and Speed, letting it blaze past some of the fastest Pokemon in the tier like Mega Lopunny, Greninja, and Tapu Koko. A huge part of why it's so lethal is its ability in Trace; being able to copy abilities like Regenerator from Toxapex, Swift Swim from Mega Swampert, and Flash Fire from Heatran can give Mega Alakazam many opportunities to either switch in and wallbreak or revenge kill weather sweepers. Definitely a nitpick but I don't really like saying it's a huge part of its lethality, because its lethality boils down to its consistency in wallbreaking with its high Special Attack, coverage, and its insane speed tier. Just saying that Trace is a useful ability that expands its wallbreaking and revenge killing opportunities with the examples you listed gets the point across perfectly. Focus Blast rips through Ferrothorn and Heatran, while Shadow Ball does great damage to Pokemon like Jirachi and Tapu Lele. Recover lets Mega Alakazam stay healthy throughout a game so that it can consistently pivot into defensive Pokemon like Toxapex and Tangrowth. Mega Alakazam struggles to get through bulky Steel-types like Magearna, Celesteela, and Mega Scizor, so it appreciates partners like Tapu Lele, which can soften them up for Mega Alakazam to sweep in addition to providing Psychic Terrain support, and Zapdos and Rotom-W which can switch into and threaten them while also bringing Mega Alakazam in safely on Pokemon like Tapu Koko. A Magearna of your own can also help to pivot into opposing Magearna and other threats to Mega Alakazam like Choice Scarf Tapu Lele and Greninja.

yeah this is really really good. qc 1/1
