It is time once more for arguably the most popular and unarguably the best tournament on Smogon: Smogon Tour. This will be our 30th season, and the second one of the 8th generation!

The Smogon Tour is a series of Live Tournaments starting this time on the 18th of September. The format is the same as usual, consisting of the three most recent OU generations (SS OU, SM OU and ORAS OU, in this very order). The Live part of the tournaments will last 9 weeks where everyone will earn a certain amount of points according to their weekly performances. Once this phase is over, we'll move to Playoffs with the 16 best players of the tournament. The winner of the Smogon Tour will obtain the glorious Pink Trophy
, and either a PS! custom avatar or an inactive account on Pokémon Showdown!, courtesy of Zarel.

As usual, all the tournaments will take place on the smogtours server, unless stated otherwise. The times at which they will start are unchanged and are as follow:
  • 6 pm GMT -4 on Fridays
  • 4 pm GMT -4 on Saturdays.
  • 2 pm GMT -4 on Sundays.
Remember that you can only join two tours per week. Players caught joining three tours in one week will be disqualified the first time, and banned for the rest of the season the second time. You cannot make a new account to circumvent the rule either. Also, you are not allowed to ask for wins, offer wins, throw games or interfere in other people's battles (ghosting them or their opponent). Nor are you allowed to insult your opponent, spectators and especially not the host. If you do any of the things mentioned in this paragraph, be prepared to get infracted and potentially banned from our Tournaments. We will take retroactive actions if needed.

Will ABR claim his third Smogon Tour Trophy in a row? Will SS tours stop taking twice as much hours than ORAS? Is this finally Finchinator's tour?

We shall find the answers to these questions and many others over the next 9 weeks.

Hey, guys! Black Catalyst and kalifguest22, this thread is actually not the place to sign up for today's Smogon Tour.

If you check out the description/rules about all this above (https://www.smogon.com/tournaments/tour/rules), it mentions that a thread will be posted in the Smogon Tour section of Smogon when today's SS OU tour is set to start (at about 6 PM GMT-4). In that thread, as the directions there will also say, you make a post saying "in", which will tell the tour host that you'd like to play (and they'll add you in accordingly).

This is an example of a Smogon Tour signup thread from the last Smogon Tour, if you'd like to see how it works ahead of time.
