It's 1 am and I have a top cut match I should be prepping for but let's do some predictions! Let's have a good week Luxray



Gogoats vs Eiscues
21: Munkey vs JRL - I'd honestly put these guys pretty similar skill-wise, but Wil's the one who actually plays this meta.
21: Wilfire10 vs z0mOG - Zom and I have become good friends and test often, but Salvetto's coming off a recent VR finish and I believe a players cup top cut, while Zom still has to push a bit more if he wants me to bold him in these pairings.
21: Liakos vs AtmosphereVGC - One of these guys won a 600+ person tournament that I ran a month ago.
21: JinFurai vs dev611 - Jin is an awesome guy but I actually haven't seen him play much? Going with Sohaib, in case you forgot he's coming off a dominant players cup Swiss and solid NPA.
21: Deishu vs Paraplegic - I'd honestly put these guys pretty similar skill-wise, but Rob's the one who actually plays this meta.
19: Sudoku Masta vs Human - Poor Enosh is coming off of a rough oldgen loss in Wacka World Tour this week, gonna bold George who can easily hold his own here.
18: Footstool_ vs shiloh - I'm super super interested to see how shiloh does here, Footstool has a decent resume but to my knowledge he's been pretty silent for a while whereas a shiloh's very very active pokemon player.
17: Spurrific vs Agati - Highlight pairing of this entire week, giving the edge to burns because he's been playing oldgens for DOU Classic. You're gonna want to watch this one.

21: JagSamurott vs Textfont - Jag's gonna use something really wacky that throws TextFont off her game most likely, I'm not sure how well practiced she is in gen 8
21: Memoric vs Hobbit_jr98 - Don't think this is uneven as you'd think, Memo has plenty of experience in VGC team tours and I've been watching him play a decent amount of mons recently with DOU Classic. Still gonna play it safe and give the win to Henry, more established player yada yada but I'd like to see an upset!
21: Oriol Plaza vs GoogleDad - I unfortunately am not super familiar with either of these players but Oriol Plaza was in NPA.
21: Asuya vs cyan_vg - Asuya had a pretty good NPA run, not doubting Varun much here but I think Asuya will be well prepared and in decent shape to take this.
21: AuraRayquaza vs Asada Shino San - Probably wins with shadow tag.
19: Redsilver vs flyingfalcons7 - Prediction Hippolyte to bring some variant of either Kang Torn or Shedinja XernDon that can't keep up with Vishy's wacky creations. This is my personal highlight of the pairing though.
18: ChosenFuture vs Deathstroke - I'm less familiar with Kats's 18 results than I am Melvin's. Melvin cut a LOT of tours that year if memory serves me correctly.
17: PrimitiveVGC vs Brady1225 - Brady's probably pulling up with his Snorlax Persian stuff, if he puts any amount of work into this I think he'll have the edge on Primitive, who I don't remember having any major results in the format.

21: kimnaise vs Jomatoes - Kim was on my NPA team. Super solid player and fits right at home in team tours. Jomatoes has been around in the new era, particular in some smaller discord leagues, but I think Kim's just in better shape.
21: Eddie1840 vs frog! - Darcy's coming off a players cup top cut.
21: raisedintyo vs InkVGC - Ink isn't bad but I bought tyo for Wacka World Tour and watching his games has been a treat. Really strong player and I wouldn't be surprised to see tyo at the top of the standings when this tour is all over.
21: Serapis vs Mr.GX - Jeremy's probably too busy preparing for law school to be in as good of shape as GX, who we all know is dominating ladder. Regardless, both of these are friends and I'm looking forward to it!
21: TJ vs PasDer - TJ is very capable of grasping any form of Pokemon from my judgment of watching him play in literally every XPL on the site, but PasDer is a really strong newcomer. Helped Liakos with the Smogon Major team. Really excited to see what both of these guys can do though
19: TTT444 vs JoeUX9 - Joe's definitely the name to beat in 2019 since no one else had as dominant of a streak as he did post worlds. I do wonder if he'll be flexible in the builder or go with his tried and true YvelDon, which Thorpe, no stranger to successful team tournament runs, can definitely prepare for.
18: RdmH3 vs Biosci - Not sure how practiced Biosci is at mons right now but I'm pretty sure Radium is at least decently hot going into this.
17: Raghav Malaviya vs Gramgus - Easy highlight of this pairing, both of these guys are great friends of mine and solid 17 players. Giving the edge to Stephen who probably has a better coherent picture of the format giving him more value in a team tour setting

21: Clipperz1235 vs Arekusabi - Clipperz sign-up post was objectively much better, Arekusabi instead of just copy-pasting went and replied to the whole post.
21: Prinz vs xtra$hine - I am so excited for this match-up, let's go Smogon players.
21: maovgc vs Kotomi - maovgc is good at VGC, has had pretty successful tournaments especially in NPA
21: YoshiandLugia vs DarkJorch - DarkJorch has done better in previous team tournaments, but this should be relativel close.
21: SableyeVGC vs Namuko Pro - Mostly feel obligated to predict for Namuko Pro because he went for >3 Tony's. If Namuko Pro doesn't do well right off the bat then it's a very bad look on the Luxray team as a whole.
19: zeefable vs Grandmas Cookin - Zee has a lot more experience in 2019.
18: Animus vs Chained chomper - Animus is very good in 2018 and probably will take this seriously, the team also has enough players to prep 2018 that I think he has the edge. Individually Chained chomper however is very good so it's kind of up in the air.
17: Tagmouse27 vs StarRaikou - I feel like StarRaikou has done rather well in old formats and in team tournaments, so I'll give them the edge.

21: JagSamurott vs Textfont - Textfont has done well in VGC for quite a long time, I'd give them the edge.
21: Memoric vs Hobbit_jr98 - Honestly, I'm a big Memo fan. 100% bias because I think Hobbit is probably the better VGC player but I want to root for Memo.
21: Oriol Plaza vs GoogleDad - Better tournament performances and is more established afaik
21: Asuya vs cyan_vg - Asuya has had better tournament performances.
21: AuraRayquaza vs Asada Shino San - ARay has had a lot of success in VGC tournaments when most tournaments went online.
19: Redsilver vs flyingfalcons7 - redsilver has had better results in the more recent NPA tours, but flyingfalcons I feel has established himself as a really good player.
18: ChosenFuture vs Deathstroke - Melvin is sick at Pokemon, gotta predict him
17: PrimitiveVGC vs Brady1225 - brady played A LOT of VGC 2017 iirc so I have to give them the edge.

21: raisedintyo vs InkVGC - tyo is so good at Pokemon
21: Serapis vs Mr.GX - Serapis is nuts, he's a champ.
21: TJ vs PasDer - TJ is good at Pokemon and I think that most Smogon people pick up VGC at a super competent level quickly.
19: TTT444 vs JoeUX9 - Joe plays a lot of Pokemon and became the CP Leader during Ultra Series after Worlds.
18: RdmH3 vs Biosci - Biosci has been good at nat dex formats.
17: Raghav Malaviya vs Gramgus - Raghav is one of the best Pokemon players ever and was phenomenal in 2017.
