[OVERVIEW]

Sneasel's main qualities are its excellent Speed and wallbreaking potential enabled by its superb offensive typing. Sneasel outspeeds and threatens common metagame staples like Dragalge, Heliolisk, and Xatu and can use this chance to set up with Swords Dance. Despite having numerous useful offensive qualities, though, it sometimes lacks the power to break through teams even when boosted. This issue in particular can have major consequences; common defensive Pokemon like Escavalier, Sylveon, and Copperajah OHKO Sneasel if they manage to survive its hits. Sneasel's frailty and awful defensive typing hold it back, too. Common Pokemon like Talonflame, Choice Scarf Passimian, and Salazzle outspeed and threaten Sneasel with their STAB moves, making it harder to effectively sweep teams. Moreover, the former two can gain momentum by threatening Sneasel out and using U-turn.

Triple Axel OHKOes Talonflame, Tauros, and bulky Guzzlord at +2, which Icicle Crash cannot. Icicle Crash, while weaker than Triple Axel, prevents Mudsdale from racking up too many Defense boosts with Stamina while also avoiding contact with Pokemon like Talonflame and Vileplume. The potential flinch chance coupled with Sneasel's relatively fast Speed is also a valid reason to use it. Wide Lens can be used to increase Triple Axel's accuracy at the cost of being more vulnerable to entry hazards.

Vaporeon and Diancie can switch into the faster threats that outspeed Sneasel like Inteleon and Talonflame. Slow pivots like Dragalge and Teleport Xatu can bring Sneasel in safely while also deterring Fighting-types. Fighting-types like Toxicroak and Passimian appreciate Sneasel removing their checks like Vileplume, Xatu, and Dragalge. Vileplume and Talonflame can punish U-turn users that try to revenge kill Sneasel by inflicting a potential status ailment in addition to checking Fighting-type revenge killers like Passimian and Sirfetch'd.

Choice Band gives Sneasel immediate breaking power but leaves it more vulnerable to entry hazards. Low Kick can be used to immediately remove bulky Pokemon like Snorlax, Glastrier, and Copperajah at +2.

Checks and Counters
====

**Faster Threats**: Faster Pokemon like Talonflame, Salazzle, and Inteleon outspeed and threaten to KO Sneasel.

**Fairy-types**: Diancie and Sylveon both take a hit from Sneasel and force it out. Comfey can revenge kill Sneasel with priority Draining Kiss.

**Physically Bulky Pokemon**: Bulky Water-types like Vaporeon and Mantine can usually take a hit from Sneasel while threatening it back with a potential burn from Scald. Quagsire completely shuts down Sneasel thanks to Unaware and easily beats it one-on-one. Doublade cares little about Sneasel's Ice-type attacks and OHKOes back with Iron Head. However, it must stay out of KO range from +2 Knock Off.

**Fighting-types**: Choice Scarf Passimian and Sirfetch'd can both revenge kill Sneasel with Close Combat and First Impression, respectively.

[OVERVIEW]

Sneasel's main qualities lie in its excellent Speed and its wallbreaking potential enabled by its superb offensive typing. Sneasel is able to make good progression by using Knock Off while also dishing out damage with Triple Axel (little fluffy; this is just set details. You can either delete this part or merge it with the second part to show why this coverage + Speed is so deadly). Sneasel outspeeds and threatens common metagame staples like Rotom-C, Heliolisk and Xatu. Despite having numerous offensive qualities, it sometimes lacks the power to break through teams even when boosted by Swords Dance. Sneasel's frailty and awful defensive typing hold it back to effectively sweep teams. Common Pokemon like Talonflame, Choice Scarf Passimian, (comma) and Salazzle outspeed and threaten Sneasel with their stab STAB moves. Moreover, the former two can gain momentum by threatening Sneasel out and using U-Turn. (One thing missing from the flaws is that Sneasel doesn't trade hits well with most of the defensive metagame. If it can't OHKO walls like Copperajah, Sylveon, and Escavalier, then it'll be OHKOed back. This is also a problem when overpredicting; if you click Triple Axel or SD expecting Bronzong to switch out, you can drop to Body Press, and so on. Something regarding the extreme trades often not being in Sneasel's favor could be mentioned to show more nuance than just mentioning that it's frail and not always the strongest. We wanna show why it's so niche)

Triple Axel is Sneasel's strongest stab STAB move and nets 2HKOs and OHKOs Icicle Crash doesn't. For example, Swords Dance boosted Triple Axel OHKOs bulky variants of Guzzlord, Talonflame, (comma) and Tauros.
Icicle Crash, while weaker than Triple Axel, avoids Mudsdale from racking up too many Defense boosts Stamina triggers while also avoiding making contact with Pokemon like Talonflame and Ferroseed Vileplume (viability). The potential flinch chance coupled with its relatively fast Speed is also a valid reason to use it.

Vaporeon and Diancie can switch into the faster threats that outspeed Sneasel like Inteleon and Talonflame. Sneasel's poor bulk doesn't allow it to switch in on a lot. (fluff, already covered in OV) Pivots like Dragalge and Xatu can bring Sneasel in safely on the field while also deterring Fighting-types pestering Sneasel. Fighting-types like Toxicroak and Passimian appreciate Sneasel removing Fighting-type their checks like Vileplume, Xatu, (comma) and Dragalge. (Partners like Vileplume and Talonflame can deter the faster U-turn users that revenge kill it)

Sneasel's main qualities lie in are its excellent Speed and its wallbreaking potential enabled by its superb offensive typing. Sneasel outspeeds and threatens common metagame staples like Rotom-C Dragalge (non-Choice Scarf Rotom-C isn't too common nowadays, and you need two Stealth Rock damage instances to OHKO it with +2 Ice Shard), Heliolisk,(comma) and Xatu. (expand on this point by talking about how Ice Shard can help versus certain faster threats and, perhaps, how Sneasel can find opportunities to boost with Swords Dance against the foes it forces out, which helps offset its lacking bulk) Despite having numerous useful offensive qualities, it sometimes lacks the power to break through teams even when boosted by Swords Dance. This issue in particular can have major consequences; common defensive Pokemon like Escavalier, Sylveon, and Bronzong OHKO Sneasel if they manage to survive its hits. Sneasel's frailty and awful defensive typing hold it back to effectively sweep teams. The potential flinch chance coupled with its relatively fast Speed is also a valid reason to use it. (unless you can note a practical use of the flinching, i.e. helping against Sylveon, I wouldn't mention it) (Wide Lens is good enough to justify a mention here; Triple Axel sort of sucks without it)

Vaporeon and Diancie can switch into the faster threats that outspeed Sneasel like Inteleon and Talonflame. Pivots Slow pivots like Dragalge and Teleport Xatu (it's nice to emphasize slow pivots here imo because something like Talonflame doesn't support Sneasel in the same way due to its Speed, which can end up leaving Sneasel vulnerable if you want to bring it in) can bring Sneasel in safely on the field while also deterring Fighting-types pestering Sneasel. Fighting-types like Toxicroak and Passimian appreciate Sneasel removing their checks like Vileplume, Xatu, and Dragalge. **Fighting-types**: Choice Scarf Passimian and Sirfetch'd can both revenge kill Sneasel with Close Combat and First Impression respectively.

QC 2/2 when done. Remember that Smogon writing uses the Oxford comma and that the proper spelling is "revenge kill."
