Snorlax

On a different note, I think that level ground may have some use on a snorlax set. Normally we think of snorlax as a very slow pokemon, and people will often send in their fighters (roopushin, machamp, breloom, etc) to eliminate him, but if those pokemon switch into a level ground, wouldn't snorlax actually be faster than them?? I think this would be particularly useful against breloom, because you could get a hit off (ice punch or fire punch) before it puts you to sleep.

Except that 0 speed snorlax still doesn't outspeed -1 breloom (even breloom with 0 speed investment). I think I'd rather just use Body Slam for better damage and potential paralysis. Research your claims before you say stuff.

Max Speed Snorlax outspeeds -1 Breloom running the standard SubPunch set from 4th Gen. It outspeeds by only one point, but it does outspeed. You would be less bulky, but actually outspeeding stuff after a level ground makes it worth it.

The problem with this is that most Fighting-types don't want to switch into Snorlax's strong STAB Normal-type moves. Every pokemon you listed can be 2hkod by Snorlax, so it's not like they'll be trying to counter it all the time. There's no real reason to use Level Ground when you can just use Earthquake

Chandy can't hurt Snorlax. So whether or not it switches against crunch/pursuit is irrelevant. Snorlax wins against chandy, unless you can find a move that hurts snorlax as much as snorlax hurts shandy.

I never denied that, I've only said that Snorlax can't guarantee a kill against Chandy even with full investment in Attack, which would mean less bulk for him.
Snorlax is a good counter, but he's not good in this meta.

With NO investment whatsoever in his attack, Snorlax hits Chandy for 52.11% - 62.07% damage with Crunch.

Now, if Snorlax decides to fully invest in HP and Sp.Def, Chandy hits him for 30.15% - 35.88% with LO HP Fighting.

With only 252 HP, Chandy hits him for 41.98% - 49.62% with Lo HP Fighting.

With no investment in his bulk(which would be stupid), Chandy hits him for 47.72% - 56.40% with LO HP Fighting.

Chandy wont be killing him, but it's not like Chandy can't hurt him.
Two HP Fightings(against 252 HP Snorlax) will cripple Snorlax for the rest of the battle.

Since Snorlax is now UU would Fire Punch serve any specific purpose with Ferrothorn, Skarm and Forretress out of the way? I'm gonna try a CB set.
EDIT: Or would Curse actually work in UU? Though there's still Cobalion with Sacred Sword and Heracross running around.

Snorlax definitely needs Slack Off. If it had gotten the move this generation, last generation or even 2 generations ago, then it would've stayed in OU.

Maybe slack off will be a tutor move in the new game (if there is one). They could also give away an event munchlax with the move, but if that happens it will mean that egg moves will be illegal with it.

Apart from Whirlwind and Pursuit, Snorlax doesn't really have any great egg moves, i'd be more concerned with trollfreak giving it a crap nature. Eruption Heatran anybody?

YouTuber: TheFlamingSpade made an awesome StockBelly Snorlax set.
It is,
Nature: Impish

EVs
248 HP
252 Defence (Defense if you're American)
10 Attack

Moves
Stockpile
Belly Drum
Rest
Body Slam

Item: Leftovers

The strategy behind this set is simple. Get rid of counters such as Taunters and Ghosts, proceed to Stockpile three times, if you're low on health you Rest but if you're opponent's doing nothing to you; Belly Drum. Now you should definitely Rest. Wake up, and rape everything.

So would the CB set work in UU?

Snorlax @ Choice Band
Adamant
252 HP / 252 ATK / 4 SP.D

~Body Slam
~Crunch / Pursuit
~Earthquake
~Fire Punch / Selfdestruct

Fire Punch might not be as crucial since Ferro, Forry and Scizor aren't there. I might keep it on mine anyway though since I'll be playing Random too and Scizor's really common. At least in UU it'll often get boosted by the ever present sun.

^Dragonite was BL in Generations 1 & 2.

D : Oh. Guess it just couldn't keep up with Starmie's and such without Dragon Dance. Oh well, thanks for correncting.
But back to Snorlax, Fire punch, any use in UU? Anyone? :/

EDIT: aand I just realised there were no Dragon moves besides Dragon Rage back then......lol

UU until lightingrod is released (altough the lost of heat wave is gonna hurt now with natt everywhere), not likely to go BL at least for a few months

PS: after UU balances how is curselax gonna stand (the most rightening stuff in UU for him being heracross, Arcanine's Close combat and Hitmontop)?

Who said that you would use 0 speed?? You'll obviously need some speed to outspeed him after you use it.

Why would anyone invest speed into Lax in the first place? Lax is more oriented towards TR sweeping, not running weird gimmicks with Level Ground. Breloom still doesn't give a fuck that it is outsped if it has Mach Punch.

1. Spade didn't make this set.
2. I've used this set but with Chesto Berry > Leftovers. It works excellently. Not to mention Rest's sleep turns are just begging Conkeldurr to come in and Bulk Up.
