Eh. I have it. Haven't really tried Wi-Fi yet since I'm trying to some other stuff first...I don't like Neon Colluseum...

Just got it, and took a few colliseums down, pretty simple... although lost at Neon in 3rd round because I couldn't beat my own Soul Dew Latias.

Ugh. Neon Colloseum is such BS. Their Pokemon are absolutely horrible (Plusle with Encore, Helping Hand, Fling, and Flash or some shit / Volbeat with Tail Glow, Tackle, Fling, and some crap). One round, the opponent got four of my Pokemon - all of them my sweepers.

Looks like Mom's giving me more chores for the purpose of allowing me to "earn" PBR.
But that doesn't make weeding the backyard any less loathsome.

I went home to test it out the legendary ban just now(3:00 pm CST).

I had two battle passes made up, neither of which had legendaries on them. I went ahead and created a new pass and threw 6 legendaries on it (Mewtwo, Deoxys, Articuno, Dialga, Zapdos, and Azelf). It didn't work. Next I put one legendary on each of my other cards. I went to connect to the Wi-fi and none of the cards would work. Took off the legendaries and it worked.

I have not beat PBR tho, so I was wondering if anybody who hasn't beaten PBR can use legendaries.

I'm guessing the latter. I've heard (albeit third-hand) that if you reset your Battle Pass, you can still use Legendaries. I lack specifics, however.

Actually Serebii is reporting the same thing; that if you reset your battle pass it works. It isn't known if this was just a glitch or an intentional ban by Nintendo yet....

I really can't give an accurate vote. I want it, but seeing as how I have no Wi-Fi, it would just be a waste of money along with the fact I prefer NetBattle/Competitor supported team building since it's easier.

I was perusing the GameFAQs forum and apparently somebody got an email response from Nintendo that it's a glitch that will be fixed in 'one or two weeks'. I have a hard time swallowing this, however. What kind of glitch specifically bans legendary Pokémon? There's intentionality behind this.

Do the Japanese use the same servers? It's possible that this change has been requested in Japan and they can't separate the two play environments.

Nintendo not only dropped the ball on this one; they never even picked it up to begin with. How hard would it have been to have one mode that allows Legendaries and one mode that doesn't? It was an obvious option to include.

On a side note, after visiting the train wreck that is the GameFAQs forums, I have a renewed appreciation for Smogon. I love you all! Don't ever change!

EDIT: I guess we should have a seperate thread for this discussion, huh?

It's a glitch? Goddamit. At least a lot of the REALLY bad people probably won't catch how to remedy it right away. But still...

For a second I thought that Nintendo had some idea what it was doing. Guess not, lol. In other news, has the search time to find battles been getting longer for other people too? It's like triple what it was two days ago.

Wow...a blanket ban on all legendaries, that was unexpected. does the filter checks pokemon IVs? Just curious as I heard someone suggesting a IV ban and thinking wouldn't that be a silly thing to put up.

I have a theory. We've pretty much established that for some reason, the validity of Pokémon (whether they are hacked, legendary, etc.) is checked only after a match has been found. I'm guessing that if one of the people gets an error due to illegal Pokémon, the other person gets a 'connection error'. Hence the number of connection errors that occur when looking for a match. These 'connection errors' have not ever occured for me while battling. It only ever happens when searching for an opponent.

Ever since this new ban was put in place, I've been getting a lot more 'connection errors'. Have you all had the same experience?

EDIT: Also, has anyone ever said 'yes' to a rematch and actually had it happen? I usually say no, but none of my 'yes' responses have resulted in another battle.

EDIT: I have another theory. I think that Manaphy isn't banned. Could somebody with a Manphy try making a pass with Manaphy but no other legends?

Hey,

I've had pbr since the day it shipped, and I've had a good experience so far. Here's my take on it:

I just got wifi working about 2 hours ago (router thing), and I think that the random battles are great. I've played a bunch of people using cool guys in fun ways and have actually gotten a challenge.

I've had 1 connection error, and it wasn't due to legendaries.

The announcer IMO is great. He adds a lot to the setting, and sounds very excited, which in turn makes you more excited.

I thought single player mode would be terrible at first. I was wrong. I really liked going through it, and I found the twists and challenges interesting.

I liked banned ubers, but all legendaries is a bit odd IMO. I'm ok with it, since I don't use them.

All in all, I really like the game. Some things are odd, and some parts of it are reminiscent of the battle frontier (clefable getting 4 protects off in a row), but overall great, especially over wifi.

I have the game, but I'm too lazy to check it myself.

Can you use your own Pokemon (and legendaries, more importantly), in the main "story" mode? If so, is Lati@s with Soul Dew allowed?
