Someone scoop up pokelab?

It is nonsensical to take the ravings of a random small-time poster as the word of an entire community. Claiming Smogon is elitist because a few crazed users spout nonsense is equally as crazy as what they do.

I have, and always will, prefer PokeLab to PO because of its interface and simplicity. PO is just too gaudy for me. That said, Smogon's staff is evaluating PO for the possibility of creating an official server there. If that happens, the public will be informed.

Actually, this attitude is quite common on PO and elsewhere. And I never said Smogon was elitist, that is obviously not what it stands for. But there are users who think they are better battlers because they are from Smogon, or are dismissive of any person who does not use Smogon.

Pokemon Online is horribly buggy. Attacks go through Substitute and switching causes Pokemon to be healed to full. PO already had Gen V implemented which is nice, and if you setup your own server there is a ladder; however the issue is the bugs. I really liked the PokeLab interface and team builder, and Shoddy was great too; nice and clean, where PO has a large clunky interface the most annoying part of which is their team builder.

I have never seen any of this.

Correcting my previous post, what I meant to say was that since no one wants to work on Pokelab anymore we may have to switch to PO. PO seems to have a greater share of noobs(i.e bad players) who think that stuff like Gardevoir and Charizard are better than Pokemon like Lucario and Gyarados despite plenty of evidence including stat analysis, movepool analysis, and usage stats to the contrary and that Smogon is evil for grouping Pokemon by tiers. The easiest way to bring all these noobs in and teach them the most effective strategies would be to relocate to PO. Besides Smogon is not that elitist. We don't flame noobs as much as Smashboards does.

manav, if Smogon did create a PO server, the type of users you're describing would simply continue to play on their current server rather than migrate to Smogon's.

This topic really doesn't need to turn into a Sim/Community war. It's been stated that the administration is figuring out what we'll do from here. Pretty much all that needs to be said.

Im not sure where your getting your "we" from. People can play the way they want. If they want to have fun and use charizard then why not let them? You act like its an obligation for the smogon community to make everyone into a boring, repetative, stale stall player. If they want to lose then its free rating points for me. Nothing will change if smogon goes to PO.You know why? because "were" already there and shit hasnt changed. PO is a creative less serious community and a few serious players won't change that.
