Something I'm constantly in fear of in Wifi...

Whenever I battle people online, I have this fear that they will disconnect if they know they will lose. So far, I've only been disconnected 3 times, but once because they had a bad egg and once because my internet went down, but I still wish there was some protection against DCing, like giving the person an automatic loss a la Mario Kart DS.

Anyone share this fear? Is there any way to solve disconnections from people who do not want a loss on their record?

I had two people disconnect on me just because they were losing. I share your feeling too, but only to an extent. And yes, Gamefreak should've made it so that disconnectors get an automatic loss.

Yeah, I feel ya buddy. I have a clean record and haven't disconnected on purpose ever. GameFreak really screwed up the wi-fi in this one. I hate it when you KO their last pokemon, and when their health is gone, they automatically DC.

What's the difference? I mean, a win is a win even if it doesn't show up on your record, right?

Even if they d/c as their last pokemon dies, you still won. Isn't that good enough?

You don't really play Pokemon for a mark on your Trainer Card, you play it for the simple joy of outsmarting/outlucking/outpredicting and overall, defeating your opponent.

This is also why I always played unrated matches on Netbattle. Because, when it comes right down to it, it's just a record, and oftentimes records don't prove anything at all.

Records are pretty pointless, seeing as how YOU are the only one that can see them. I don't really see the problem here. Afraid of people disconnecting on you? That's why they are FRIEND codes.

Records mean nothing. Good players will be recognized not by two opposing numbers; they will be recognized by their unrivaled knowledge and renowned playing talent.

If you are good, you will be recognized for being so, regardless of records.

Wifi battle tower is so much better for reliable matches.... the tier system for trainers is pretty cool... better than any random person at least! ._.

To me, the fear is not that they'll disconnect and I won't be credited for my win. The fear is that, when I'm losing, my connection will drop, and I'll be seen as a bad loser. It's happened once, although I don't see how you can tell whether it was you or them.

Yea, I hate when stuff like that happens. I was paying for a grush once on Diablo 2, and when Diablo was killed, there was a huge lag spike, and I had to restart my computer due to Diablo freezing and me not being able to exit it. I was immediatly seen as a scammer, even though I payed the guy as soon as I got back on.
