Specially Defensive Trapper (Diglett) @ Sitrus Berry
Level: 5
Ability: Arena Trap
EVs: 36 HP / 76 Atk / 156 SpD / 236 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide / Rock Tomb
- Thief
- Substitute

Investing into Special Defense allows Diglett to safely switch into powerful special attackers such as Elekid and unboosted Abra, and then remove them on the spot. Rock Slide allows Diglett to hit Pokemon immune to Ground-type attacks, such as Gastly and Doduo. Rock Tomb fulfills the same function, but with the trade-off of a lower base power in exchange for a speed drop that lets other Pokemon have an easier time revenging or setting up. Substitute lets you eat your own Sitrus Berry, freeing up your item slot allowing you to steal the opposing Pokemon's item, most commonly being Sitrus Berry. Thanks to Diglett's 20 Speed, it will almost always be able to steal an item.

Given Specially Diglett's unique capability to trap and remove common Special Attackers like Abra and Elekid that typically do not have great answers and counter-trapping almost always ensuing afterwards, most teams can easily add Specially Defensive Diglett without having to build around it. With that said, Diglett pairs nicely with Pokemon that need opposing Electric-type Pokemon such as Elekid removed to make progress, such as Staryu, Wailmer, and Doduo. The aforementioned Water-types, as well as Chinchou, also help by coming into Trapinch after a revenge kill. Diglett greatly appreciates having Electric-types as its teammates as Water-types like Wailmer often come in to revenge kill Diglett, being able to threaten a KO with Thunderbolt is outstanding for keeping momentum up.

Diglett investing into Special Defense allows it to safely switch into powerful special attackers such as Elekid and unboosted Abra. Rock Slide allows you to hit Pokemon immune to ground, primarily Gastly and Doduo . Substitute allows you to punish predicted switches, protect against status moves,as well as These interaction are very niche i wouldn't mention it. subbing down to steal your opponents Sitrus Berry. Thief, as previously mentioned, allows you to do more damage to Pokemon. Using Wailmer as an example, Earthquake would simply cause the Pokemon to eat its Sitrus Berry.

As Specially Defensive is the most popular set on the second most popular Pokemon, you often are not super concerned with needing super specific structures to enable it. With that said, Diglett pairs excellently with electric weak pokemon, especially Staryu, Wailmer, and Doduo because of how it can isolate common checks in electric types like Elekid. These aforementioned water types and Chinchou also help conserve momentum against Trapinch that has counter-trapped Diglett. Diglett greatly appreciates having electric types as its teammates. Because of how frequently Wailmer comes in to take on Diglett after a knockout, having something electric types like Chinchou or Elekid to come in and threaten a Thunderbolt is outstanding for keeping momentum up.

Diglett iInvesting into Special Defense allows it Diglett to safely switch into powerful special attackers such as Elekid and unboosted Abra. (you should mention how arena trap allows you to then remove these pokemon) Rock Slide allows you Diglett to hit Pokemon immune to gGround-type attacks, primarily like Gastly and Doduo. (you need to write about rock tomb as well. its an option to reduce the speed of opposing pokemon for diglett's teammates - you can ask kaboom about this) Substitute primarily allows you to sub down to steal your opponents Sitrus Berry. Thief, as previously mentioned, allows you to do more damage to Pokemon. Using Wailmer as an example, Earthquake would simply cause the Pokemon to eat its Sitrus Berry. (this is poorly phrased and doesn't explain the concept well. write one sentence describing how substitute can be used to activate your own berry, freeing up your item slot to steal an opposing pokemons item (such as the common sitrus berry) using thief, and another about how digletts high speed stat basically guarantees it will be able to steal an item before it is KOed. no need to provide an example, especially not one that KOes diglett with surf)

As Specially Defensive is the most popular set on the second most popular Pokemon, you often are not super concerned with needing super specific structures to enable it. (depending on which usage stats you are looking at diglett isnt the second most popular mon in adv lc. this also doesn't really tell the reader anything other than that diglett is popular. try writing a sentence that highlights how digletts speed and trapping ability make it a valuable asset that fits on almost any team structure)
With that said, Diglett pairs excellently with electric weak pokemon Pokemon that need opposing Electric-type Pokemon such as Elekid removed to make progress, like, especially Staryu, Wailmer, and Doduo because of how it can isolate common checks in electric types like Elekid. These aforementioned water types and Chinchou also help conserve momentum against Trapinch that has counter-trapped Diglett. (can you rephrase this as well? i assume you are trying to say water types are also good teammates for diglett because they can revenge kill trapinch? its not clear imo) Diglett greatly appreciates having eElectric-types such as Chinchou or Elekid (add hyphen) as its teammates. Because of how frequently as Water-types like Wailmer often comes in to take on revenge kill Diglett after a knockout, having electric types like Chinchou or Elekid to come in and being able to threaten a KO with Thunderbolt is outstanding for keeping momentum up.
