Spectrier utilizes its high Speed stat and decently solid bulk to dispose of slower Choice item and physical threats like Choice Band Sawk, Zygarde, and Urshifu-R. Will-O-Wisp pairs nicely with Hex to strengthen its Base Power as well as invalidating any Endure + Custap Berry strategies used by Aggron or Primarina. The given HP and Special Defense investment, along with a Sitrus Berry, allows Spectrier to survive a Choice Specs Prismatic Laser from Necrozma and survive two attacks from Choice Specs Naganadel after a Calm Mind, while the Defense EVs ensures it tanks two attacks from a burned Choice Band Garchomp. The 184 EVs in Speed allow it to outspeed Naganadel. Taunt lets Spectrier shut down threats like Custap Berry Primarina, non-Choice Scarf Tapu Fini, and Registeel, whereas Disable allows Spectrier to beat Choice item attackers such as Choice Band Haxorus and Choice Specs Volcanion. Spectrier has trouble against Dark- or Normal-types such as Urshifu-S, Galarian Moltres, and Porygon-Z. Therefore, it appreciates partners such as Primarina, Sawk, and Aromatisse.

Will-O-Wisp pairs nicely with Hex to strengthen its base power, as well as invalidating any Endure + Custap Berry strategies used by Sawk or Aggron (custap Haxorus isn't the most common threat). The given HP and SpD, along with a Sitrus Berry, allows Spectrier to survive a Choice Specs Prismatic Laser from Necrozma and survive two attacks from Choice Specs Naganadel after a Calm Mind, while the Defense ensures you tank two attacks from Choice Band Garchomp after burn damage. The 184 Spe allows it to outspeed Naganadel. Taunt lets Spectrier shut down stall threats like (add Custap Primarina) non-Choice Scarf Tapu Fini and Registeel, whereas Disable allows Spectrier to beat choice-itemed attackers such as Regieleki (specs Thunder decimates Spectrier mention band Haxorus or Garchomp instead) and Volcanion. Spectrier has trouble against Dark or Normal types such as Urshifu-S, Galarian Moltres, and Snorlax. As such, it appreciates partners such as Tapu Fini, Sawk, and Aromatisse.
