SpeedStorm(OU RMT)(V:2.0)

I've been out of the running after being totally anihilated on Shoddy time after time. I have been reading and learning all along the way, and now i shall make my reapearance from the shadows. This is the team I came up with and it has suprising succes, but I still need some help from you guys!

When I made this team I looked at the OU tier list and asked myself: "What pokemon would I like to abuse?" The answer itself was pretty easy. I always hated fighting against and with a Hippowdon, hence I wanted to make a team based on the Hippo that suits me, being all out offensive. This is what i came up with, so please be constructive, or have a fricking good reason for burning this team to the ground.

Main goal is to get 3 speed boosts passed on to either Empoleon or Jirachi to make an early sweep. This is a frail technique, because trying to OHKO full HP pokemon right away is tough, but with the speedboosts Jirachi and Empoleon are great sweepers. When the opposing team is dented, I bring out Hippowdon to get a storm going and put up SR and Roar some times. Donphan is the spinner, and Flygon finnishes up as a late game sweeper.

Pokemon #1
ninjask.png

Ninjask@Leftovers
Adamant nature
Speed Boost
EV's: 248 HP/68 ATK/168 DEF/26 SPD
- Protect
- Substitute
- Baton Pass
- X-Scissor

This guy is on my team because a lot of pokemon unharmed by sandstorm are slow. Very slow. This thing is my set up. It has some troubles facing leads that set up, so help will be appreciated.
The only lead I do not fear is Azelf. X-Scissor does a good 95% dammage to it, which shocks people, and when they want to explode, it outspeeds them.

Leads this thing struggles with are Taunt users. Not sure if there's a fool proof way to block that, but all tips are welcome.

Pokemon #2
jirachi.png

Jirachi@Leftovers
Timid nature
Serene Grace
EV's: 80 HP/252 SP.ATK/176 SPD
- Calm Mind
- Psychic
- Grass Knot
- Thunderbolt

Complete overhaul. This receives the speed, gets a Calm Mind or 2, then sweeps like hell. Nice^^ More info when tested.

Pokemon #3
flygon.png

Flygon@Choice Band
Adamant nature
Levitate
EV's: 252 ATK/184 SPD/74 SP.DEF
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Outrage

This thing makes a pretty awesome late-game sweeper, but put it in 1 turn too soon, and your dead.
Using it takes prediction and caution, but every single team on my Sapphire game has had one, so I wanted it here too.
The moveset it pretty straight forward. Outrage for raw power, Dragon Claw for non-confusing STAB, EQ for major STABness and U-turn mostly as a filler.
About the speed EV's: 8 EV's provide 2 points more than standard Smogon issue, to take down people with standard Smogon Choice Band FLygon, and people outsmarting it with 1 extra speed point.
Question for you guys is whether to change Dragon Claw and/or U-turn for something more usefull.

Pokemon #4
forretress.png

Forretress@Shed Shell
Relaxed nature
Sturdy
- Toxic Spikes
- Gyro Ball
- Rapid Spin
- Explosion
EV's: 252 HP/112 ATK/144 DEF
IV's: 0 SPD

Forretress. That's one pokemon you guys made me change. I chose him over Starmie because of Sandstorm. Basic set, very strong actually, I've used it once or twice, but hey, I'll see how it rolls. Thanks for this one. Again, I'll see how it rolls.

Pokemon #5
tyranitar.png

Tyranitar@Leftovers
Quiet nature
Sand Stream
EV's: 252 HP/52 ATK/ 176 SP.ATK/28 SPD
- Substitute
- Focus Punch
- Dark Pulse
- Thunder Bolt

Congratulations, you guys tore the reason for making the team, OUT OF THE TEAM!!!
Okay, I completely tore Hippow appart, made it standard TyraniBoah. Looks good, I forgot this thing has Sand Stream as well. I'll tell you more once I played some games with him.

Pokemon #6
lucario.png

Lucario@Life Orb
Naive nature
Steadfast
EV's: 44 ATK/212 SP.ATK/252 SPD
- Aura Sphere
- Shadow Ball
- Close Combat
- Bullet Punch

I read your comments on Empoleon, and they affirmed what I deeply knew. I had to ditch him. And i screwed him over faster than you can say WTF?
New Jirachi takes over the task given to Empoleon, leaving me room for a REAL threatning thing. I always hate to be faced with a MixSet, so why not use one for myself?

Credit for the set goes to IcyMan28, who posted it in this very forum in his RMT. I read it and LOVED it, so I hope he don't mind.

For the time being I'll stick with Ninjask as a lead, it isn't that bad a lead, and puts a dent in the omnipresent SR Azelf.

--------------------
List of Major Threats
--------------------

-Swampert: This thing kills my team. Period. Only Flygon resist it's stabs, but it has Ice Beam to take Flygon out.
- Bronzong: I have no fire attack. Not sure where to put one or on which pokemon.
- Breloom: Same reason as Bronzong, I just can't hit it hard enough to put it down.
- Gengar: It levitates, so it's automaticaly a pain. Usually Flygon takes this one, but it explodes a lot of times. Not sure about this one...
- Weavile: It's fast, it's tough, and it is a major threat to my team. Only Empoleon can block it out, but Empoleon just can't hurt it...

----

That's the team, read it love it, and fight me on Shoddy.

Thanks for reading through this shit, so please take the time to write something nice^^

Good team you've got here. I have some minor suggestions:

For Jirachi, keep Thunderpunch. You're not going to need Thunderwave too much because Jirachi will be sent out with speed boosts. Thunder is too risky and Impish is against Thunderbolt like you said.

I like Donphan, but he's got only one actual solid attacking move. I'd get rid of Knock Off for Counter. Donphan is able to really hurt with Counter, then use Ice Shard to clean up. But if you find that Knock Off is working then by all means keep it.

Get...rid...of Donphan ASAP. A lot of people hate him, but he is horrible on your team because you have Hippo already and you really shouldn't have two mono-ground types with Ice Beam and Grass Knot as common as they are. Also there's Flygon and Ninjask...4 pokemon Ice Beam weak hurts.

Ice Fang over Roar on Hippo if you are concerned about Salamence, as you should be.

If you really need a spinner, go with a Forretress or an offensive Starmie, though I don't like either because of typing issues. If you get a spinner Starmie, you may wish to lose Empoleon, but it's not as much of a concern as the Ice issue.

Just a few quick observations:

I'm not a fan of Ninjask leads, quite often they can be difficult to pull off, and when you open with your Baton Passer, your opponent still has all their counters completely intact. Especially as you aren't passing any attack/special attack, you're rarely going to manage to pose a threat. Seeing as your only really viable Baton Pass reciever is Empoleon (Flygon is choiced, so you're not going to manage to sweep, especially early on), you might want to take a look at some of the common leads to see if any catch your interest. Also, Empoleon with a pretty similar set is one of the best Agility sweepers available - I'll talk about that later - so using an entire team slot up just to Baton Pass some speed to him isn't really the best of ideas.

There's a bit of redundancy between Hippowdon and Donphan. I know you said you wanted to build a team around Hippo, but it's really out of place here. I'd probably drop Hippo for Tyranitar - this team is a fairly offensive one, and I don't really think Hippo fits into it all that well. Donphan counters the same threats as Hippo (although admittedly not as many times), and can take Stealth Rock over Knock Off.
If you want to keep the ability to take hits in Hippo's place, you could run a fairly bulky Tyranitar with Leftovers, using the Choice Band set. Thiswould get Sandstorm going for you, as well as adding some much neede offense and the ability to pick off some threats to Empoleon with Pursuit.
Alternatively, TyraniBoah might be worth a try, as from the looks of it, this team is going to have some real problems against stall, and Boah is an incredible wallbreaker.

Your current Empoleon set is pretty sub-optimal to be honest. Empoleon can set up Agility with either the SubPetaya or Life Orb sets that can be found in his analysis easily enough, both of which will add some much-needed power to your current set, as well as being able to set up without the help of Ninjask.

That Jirachi set doesn't look all that great to me, especially as it's a fairly offensively themed team, you might want to try a Calm Mind set, which would have the added benefit of weakening/taking out some of Empoleon's counters to open up a sweep. Alternatively, you could try a physical set such as the wallbreaker that can be found in his analysis, as this team is going to have some real problems breaking through defensive cores. Taking a dedicated wallbreaker with the ability to take out Blissey would definately be worth considering, otherwise stall is going to wall your entire team easily enough and wear you out.

Hope this helps.

I've read it all, and I will edit it in tomorrow, but since it's 23:30 in Holland, I don't realy feel like doing it now. Just wanted to let you know I'm on it.

A quick edit: I'm going to do it now anyway...

I'M NOT AN ADDICT!!!

I think Flygon needs Fire Blast.
I would replace Claw for it.

Also why DEF EV's on Ninjask? I would give it more attack to 100% KO Azelf lead.

Editted DemonizedFayt's idea's in the team.

I'm not sure wether Extreme Speed will realy be worth it, since it's normal typed and does not cover anything. I'm thinging of Bullet Punch over Stone Edge instead.

i agree with Extremespeed > Bullet Punch on Luke. he may lose the ability to hit with priority on Ghosts, however it has double the base power (not including STAB) to help finish even more things off

also, i think he'd be much more deadly as the standard LO SD Luke, but that's just me

as for Flygon, i suggest running Fire Blast + Naive or Fire Punch (my preference is the latter) over Dragon Claw to net him unresisted coverage. and i suggest going with Jolly since you're running Band... U-Turn is really useful at times so i'd keep it. i run the Scarf version (maybe look into it since you lack a Revenge Killer?) and he's really useful :)
