Hello everyone. I wanted to keep my head down while all the drama was going on and I think now is a better time to post. If you have any interest in potentially playing with Jabba and I on the Tigers, please reach out to me on Discord. Every person is different and adds value to a team in their own way, but here are a few generalized things we're really looking for to be a good fit in our environment-

-"Whatever is best for the team" attitude in every way. Whether you play every single week or you end up not playing any weeks, you're actively contributing and trying to help the team by testing, scouting, sharing ideas, etc on a week in week out basis. You're willing to get moved around on an as needed basis. To be very clear, all team members are expected to contribute every week. Team/Trophy > Spreadsheet

-You have a realistic view of yourself and what you add to a team. Not looking for "Hi, I've never played an official tour before but I'm really good and I'd like to be your ADV starter" messages. Show me that you see things in a grounded, objective way and are aware of what you're good at and what you're not so good at.

-Not toxic/controversial/going to piss teammates off. I want our team environment to be as focused and collaborative as possible.

-Motivation and the right headspace. I personally am going to put literally hundreds of hours into this tournament and I'm going at this 110% trying to win. We need players in a similar, ultra-tryhard frame of mind. Every other tour I manage, message me for funzies. This tour is all business.

Hello friends and community wide enemy Perry.

I will be in charge of the Power Rankings article once again for SPLXII! This time around, there will be some slight changes and extra planning steps on my end! In the near future, I will be putting out a google form in order to recruit some helpers -- people who will be able to compile statistics, work on the numerical rankings, assist in the writing of the article, and do anything else needed to assure the quality of the article. If you have any interest in this, please stay tuned for a post on this.

In the meantime, I wanted to gather community input on what specifically should be included in the article. Tournaments like SPL take up a significant portion of hundreds of individual's free time and I want to do everything possible to start it off in a fun, memorable fashion. If you are a manager, player, or spectator and have any interest in the tournament or power rankings, it would be greatly appreciated if you could take a minute of your time to fill out this google form! PM me if you have any questions.

The Tigers will be holding open tryouts this Sunday December 20th at 1PM US East time and I expect them to last approximately 2-3 hours depending on the volume of interest.

To register for these tryouts, please PM me on Discord to confirm you’ll be attending and the no more than two tiers you’d like to try out for. I’ll message all confirmed tryouts players minutes before the start time and those who respond in a timely manner will be given the name of the room we’ll be using and the password to join it. If you’re late, don’t bother- respect our time!

What to expect from these tryouts-

-We’re trying to get an idea where people stand and how they might perform in a tournament setting. As such we expect players to bring tournament-viable, non gimmick teams and not waste our time. Matches will be played with the timer on from the start to as closely as possible mirror a tournament setting.

-No one other than your opponent and our draft team will see the replays from the tryouts. Expect some level of privacy.

-Be aware that we make absolutely no promises, regardless of results. Even if you win every single game you play, it’s not a promise we’ll draft you.

-The best performers may be asked to return the following weekend for an invite-only second tryout. That one will be even more the real deal.

What a completely absurd and unjust ruling by the TDs and Smogon Staff. To use information that was so clearly available to them when they made their managerial selections as reason to renege on one of them is a terrible look for a website that apparently is concerned with little else apart from its public image. It certainly does not give a damn about competitive Pokemon.

I have zero interest in participating in anything on this site going forward. Shame on you Big Baby Whiners for instigating this, and shame on the staff members who are responsible for making this decision.
