Due to the temporary nature of the spotlight metagame and how fast tiering action tends to happen, we ask that whoever takes the reservation have some prior experience with the metagame OR stay in close contact with OM QC while writing the spotlight. These are on a time limit, going out on the 15th, so make sure to do it quickly! If your section has a rotating ladder and you'd like to discuss getting your own rotating slot, shoot April or another member of the spotlight staff team a message and we'll work it out.

explanation

With Life Orb, you are now able to dispose of would-be obstacles such as Tyranitar, Gliscor, and Politoed. While you lose some survivability, the extra damage flips many common match-ups, allowing Volcarona to snowball if your opponent lacks a faster Choice Scarf user or Dragonite. Giga Drain allows you to replenish health and hit Water types while Psychic makes quick work of Keldeo and Tentacruel while muscling past Terrakion in Sand. Max speed is needed even with Modest to assure you outrun Scarf Rotom-Wash after a Quiver Dance.
