Randbats Spotlight Tournament

Welcome to the fifth bimonthly Spotlight Tour! This iteration will feature the recently elected Gen 9 Partners In Crime Random Battle format. This tournament is your chance to showcase your skills in Gen 9 Partners In Crime Random Battle in a single elimination best-of-3 series.

What is Gen 9 Partners In Crime Random Battle?

Partners In Crime is a mod that applies to doubles. It makes both Pokémon out on their side of the field share their moves and ability. You can even select a move your ally has while switching that ally out, and still get the move off! It's a great format so far with stupid combos but also stupidly high skill expression, so this is a tour to have a go at.

Prizes

The winner of the Spotlight Tournament will receive the Room Prize Winner rank in the Random Battles room for a month and the possibility to pick a format for the next Randbats Spotlight poll!

How does the tour work?

It’s simple:
1. Contact your opponent on their Smogon wall and decide on a time to battle.
2. Battle each other in the format “Gen 9 Partners In Crime Random Battle”. This format can be found under 'Randomized Format Spotlight', at the top of the third column. Alternatively, use /challenge gen9partnersincrimerandombattle.
3. The first player to 2 wins advances to the next round.

Note that this tournament will end before the next Randbats Spotlight Ladder commences, i.e., before January 2024. This will determine the pace of the tournament. For this reason, extensions will generally NOT be granted.

Please note:
1. All scheduling attempts MUST be done publicly on Smogon Walls. No other proof of communication will count for act calls regarding scheduling attempts.
2. You MUST post replays of your wins.

We strongly recommend familiarizing yourself with the Smogon Tournament Rules and General Guidelines, if you haven’t already. If you have further questions, don’t hesitate to contact the tour hosts, Celever and 35Q71N here on Smogon.
