ZU [SS] Regice [GP 1/1]

Regice's poor Speed and lack of a secondary STAB option make it a poor choice in the ZU metagame. Froslass and Jynx are far superior options as offensive Ice-types with excellent secondary STAB options and significantly better Speed, while Cryogonal and Articuno are better defensive Ice-types due to having reliable recovery and better utility movepools.

This set attempts to serve as a late-game cleaner with a combination of BoltBeam coverage for most foes and Focus Blast to hit opposing Steel-types and Miltank super effectively, with particular proficiency at hitting the common defensive core of Articuno, Miltank, and Palossand hard. However, Regice unfortunately lacks power and is ultimately outclassed as a late-game special cleaner by Lunatone due to its ability to reliably boost its Special Attack, Levitate, better typing, and better Speed; the aforementioned Ice-types entirely outclass Regice in every other possible role.

This set attempts to serve as a late-game cleaner with a combination of BoltBeam coverage for most opponents (would specifically mention that its main niche as a cleaner is that it can hit palocunotank cores super effectively but despite this its still pretty weak) and Focus Blast to hit opposing steels and Miltank super-effectively. However, it is wholly outclassed as a lategame special cleaner by Lunatone due to its ability to reliably boost Special Attack (and better typing + levitate makes it much easier to setup on stuff if need be; also just naturally faster so regice can still be rk'ed by a Scarf Sawk while Lunatone cannot be) and by the aforementioned Ice-types in every other possible role.
