Alright, with the anticipated huge shift coming up in a couple of days, I'm going to wait a couple of weeks or so to allow usage of the new mons as well as see what the council decides to do with the ones that are too OP for here. With that in mind, stay tuned! See you guys in about 2 weeks =)

Alright guys and girls, with all the new mons we got and with the council quickbanning what needed to be quickbanned, it's time to resume checking and countering threats within our RU metagame. So, let's resume this 10-week run with.............

Week 14
The mon to target this time is..........

Gardevoir @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Trace
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Moonblast
- Psychic
- Mystical Fire
- Trick

HailFall

my cancer is sun and my leo is moon
Silvally-Steel as a Check

Silvally-Steel @ Steel Memory
Ability: RKS System
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Multi-Attack
- Swords Dance
- Defog
- U-turn

Steelvally can comfortably come in on any move other than Mystical Fire, with memories being unremovable by Trick. It can then defog, gain momentum, or attack depending on the situation.

Reserving Porygon2 as a counter
Porygon2 @ Eviolite
Ability: Analytic
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Tri Attack
- Recover
- Ice Beam
- Toxic

Porygon2 is an amazing Specially Defensive tank. Switching into one of Gardevoir's damaging moves is easy as it barely does any damage to Porygon2. Even if Gardevoir uses Trick, Gardevoir receives an Eviolite, a useless item for it. Because Porygon2 has such an easy time switching into Gardevoir's attacks and is able to hit harder back, Porygon2 is probably one of the best counters against Gardevoir.

Porygon2 dealing good damage
4 SpA Analytic Porygon2 Tri Attack vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Gardevoir: 103-123 (37.1 - 44.4%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

Gardevoir doing nothing
252 SpA Gardevoir Moonblast vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Eviolite Porygon2: 76-90 (20.3 - 24%) -- guaranteed 5HKO

Copperajah @ Assault Vest
Ability: Heavy Metal
EVs: 252 Atk / 180 SpD / 76 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Heavy Slam
- Heat Crash
- Power Whip
- Stone Edge / Earthquake

AV Copperajah is a good check to Gardevoir as it can come in on Moonblast or Psychic and even Mystical Fire once and threatens to obliterate it with Heavy Slam. However, it doesn`t like getting Tricked at all, since the loss of significant special bulk and getting locked into a move hinders it considering its role on the team and even if it can avoid Mystical Fire 2HKOing it or even 3HKOing it (66.1% of the time) it doesn`t get any recovery unless you`re using a WishPasser on your team.

252+ Atk Copperajah Heavy Slam (120 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Gardevoir: 612-722 (220.9 - 260.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252 SpA Gardevoir Mystical Fire vs. 0 HP / 172 SpD Assault Vest Copperajah: 116-138 (30.1 - 35.8%) -- 33.9% chance to 3HKO
252 SpA Gardevoir Moonblast vs. 0 HP / 172 SpD Assault Vest Copperajah: 54-65 (14 - 16.8%) -- possible 6HKO
252 SpA Gardevoir Mystical Fire vs. 0 HP / 172 SpD Copperajah: 174-206 (45.1 - 53.5%) -- 31.3% chance to 2HKO (when tricked)

Jolly Nature
- Poison Jab
- Knock Off
- Aqua Tail
- Earthquake
Due to my school work and stuff this response will not be long. Drapion is a CHECK to Gardevoir. Its able to freely switch in on 3 of Gardevoir's moves. It out speeds Gardevoir in a scarf battle, with poison jab being able to easily 1 shot it. Drap for a check
Calcs:
252 SpA Gardevoir Moonblast vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Drapion: 192-226 (68.3 - 80.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 Atk Drapion Poison Jab vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Gardevoir: 288-342 (103.9 - 123.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Ability: Analytic
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Flash Cannon
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Toxic

:magneton: is a great check to gardevoir as it doesnt take a lot from its psychoc stab and fairy stab, furthermore magneton is able to scare out gardevoir when it is locked into either its stab moves and can fire up a strong flash cannon which is boosted by its ability analytic. however magneton has to be wary about switching into a mystical fire but in overall magneton is a great check to gardevoir.

calcs:
252+ SpA Analytic Magneton Flash Cannon vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Gardevoir: 314-372 (113.3 - 134.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ SpA Analytic Magneton Thunderbolt vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Gardevoir: 177-208 (63.8 - 75%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
252+ SpA Analytic Magneton Volt Switch vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Gardevoir: 136-162 (49 - 58.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

252 SpA Gardevoir Moonblast vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Eviolite Magneton: 67-80 (27.8 - 33.1%) -- 21.9% chance to 3HKO after Stealth Rock
252 SpA Gardevoir Psychic vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Eviolite Magneton: 63-75 (26.1 - 31.1%) -- guaranteed 4HKO after Stealth Rock

252 SpA Gardevoir Mystical Fire vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Eviolite Magneton: 142-168 (58.9 - 69.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

Bronzong @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Stealth Rock
- Gyro Ball / Toxic
- Psychic
- Protect

Short, sweet, and to the point, Bronzong is an excellent counter to Gardevoir due to its key resists to both of Gardevoir's STABs (including a 4x resist to Psychic) as well with a 100% chance to OHKO utilizing Gyro Ball. Mystical Fire is also a 4HKO at best and that is assuming the choice-locked Gardevoir made all of the correct predictions. However, thanks to Protect, the Bronzong player is able to scout in order to see exactly what Gardevoir is up to, meaning it never has to commit to risk being Tricked away its beloved Leftovers for dreadful Choice Scarf.

This is a counter because Bronzong is able to sponge both of Gardevoir's STABs as well as the fact Mystical Fire is not doing rather impressive damage either, however; Bronzong despises the fact it is able to lose its Leftovers- meaning its versatility as a Rocker, a key special pivot, a bulky mon with constant recovery and outstanding longevity potential... all of which become null and void. With that being said: Bronzong is still an excellent defensive answer to Gardevoir otherwise.

252 SpA Gardevoir Mystical Fire vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Bronzong: 104-124 (30.7 - 36.6%) -- guaranteed 4HKO after Leftovers recovery
0 Atk Bronzong Gyro Ball (150 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Gardevoir: 416-492 (150.1 - 177.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO
0 Atk Bronzong Gyro Ball (75 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Gardevoir: 210-248 (75.8 - 89.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Gardevoir Mystical Fire vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Heatproof Bronzong: 52-62 (15.3 - 18.3%) -- possible 8HKO after Leftovers recovery

Snorlax @ Leftovers
Careful Nature
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 HP / 24 Def / 232 SpD
- Rest
- Curse
- Body Slam
- Darkest Lariat

Snorlax can easily switch into any of Gardevoir's moves and set up or 2HKO with Body Slam. Even if Gardevoir tricks Snorlax and gains Leftovers, Body Slam still has a 90.2 chance to 2HKO.

252 SpA Gardevoir Moonblast vs. 252 HP / 232+ SpD Snorlax: 103-123 (19.6 - 23.4%) -- possible 6HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Gardevoir Psychic vs. 252 HP / 232+ SpD Snorlax: 99-117 (18.8 - 22.3%) -- possible 6HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Gardevoir Mystical Fire vs. 252 HP / 232+ SpD Thick Fat Snorlax: 28-33 (5.3 - 6.2%) -- possibly the worst move ever

Vaporeon @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 200 Def / 56 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Wish
- Protect
- Heal Bell

Nominating Vaporeon as a defensive check.

Vaporeon can safely come in on all three attacking moves, using Wish and Protect to heal, burn Gardevoir's pp, and make an opening for Scald, which takes a few turns to win, but without recovery, Gardevoir can't survive more than three hits. If needed it can throw in a Heal Bell if other teammates are statused.

It loses to Trick, but if Gardevoir is locked in to another move due to the scarf, it can be cumbersome to pull this off, requiring switching and at the very least giving a free turn for Vaporeon to heal or hit another Pokemon on the switch in. Trace also poses a slight issue, making Scald ineffective, however Gardevoir is eventually forced to switch anyway if its locked in, since the given set can't KO Vaporeon.

0 SpA Vaporeon Scald vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Gardevoir: 84-99 (30.3 - 35.7%) -- 32.6% chance to 3HKO

252 SpA Gardevoir Psychic vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Vaporeon: 150-177 (32.3 - 38.1%) -- 0.8% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

252 SpA Gardevoir Mystical Fire vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Vaporeon: 42-49 (9 - 10.5%) -- possibly the worst move ever

252 SpA Gardevoir Moonblast vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Vaporeon: 159-187 (34.2 - 40.3%) -- 40.7% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

Gigalith is able to counter Gardevoir thanks to its Sand boosted Sp.def allowing it comfortably take multiple hits. It gets crippled by Trick but Gardevoir without a Scarf is easier to deal with offensively.

252 SpA Gardevoir Moonblast vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Gigalith in Sand: 84-100 (22.4 - 26.7%) -- possible 5HKO after Leftovers recovery

0 Atk Gigalith Rock Blast (3 hits) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Gardevoir: 153-180 (55.2 - 64.9%) -- approx. 2HKO after Stealth Rock and sandstorm damage
