These combatants really can't stay still, huh. Palutena comes back out again to face Mako Mankanshoku, the last of TMan's team to enter the battle! Palutena acts quickly to protect herself from rain boosted attacks and to deny Mako's healing, but Mako slows down her foe and gets the heck out of there! Palutena is looking extremely out of it by now, and personally I'd be shocked if she survives the next round.

Judgement flees and is replaced by Magnus, who towers over Mako menacingly. The anglerfish does her best to make her opponent riled up, boosting his attack and confusing him! Magnus proceeds to whack himself in the face with a concrete pillar. Ow. However, that hit was strong enough to snap him out of confusion entirely, and with a tremendous roar, he shakes the ground below Mako's fins! Mako soaks Magnus with water and tries to paralyze him, but it doesn't work, and one last attack from Magnus knocks her out. TMan is out of useable Pokemon, so Gold takes the victory!

Generally speaking, I had an initial advantage due to my team's damage output, but I believe that this battle was largely decided on send out. Leading with Farfetch'd allowed me to play extremely aggressively with Gardevoir, forcing you onto the defense with the threat of an ORKO. From this point onward, I was able to utilize my team's individual strong matchups to further my lead, picking items specifically calculated to hit threatening benchmarks, and this continuous pressure helped me control each successive matchup. My plans were waylaid several times by RNG, but by the time Volkraken fought Metagross, I had built up enough momentum that a failed round didn't matter.

There are a few small interactions that also warrant mention. Although it was optimal to shoot for the 2HKO against Darmanitan and prevent its escape, I was crippled to the point where Enduring or chicken-dancing was impossible, so Metagross probably would've done a better job at claiming the advantage, especially with the threat of hazards and an item that discouraged Volkraken. Given that Farfetch'd's subs didn't fully account for a suicide approach, and Metagross could snipe Darmanitan with priority if it survived/switched, you gave me an opportunity to maximize the remaining value of my active Pokemon and partially restore Gardevoir while cleaning up. This put your incoming Pokemon in a difficult position, given that Gardevoir could set up its teammate by neutering Metagross's item or give Lanturn hell with ability control, allowing me to retain my advantage when the replacement entered the field. Finally, many of your item choices either failed to reliably influence the match or appeared at times where I could immediately deploy Knock Off, allowing me to amass a greater lead than otherwise possible.

You played well, but I would recommend employing more foresight in your future battles. Good Game, aside from the RNG, this was a fun battle.
