While you may remember in my previous RMT, "Banned Deucers", I said the metagame has turned to Revenge Killers.
Well, I was amazed by the people who still use Walls in today's metagame, so my love for Stalling has been sparked once again, hence why I'm presenting this Stall team.
This time, it really represents "5 Walls 1 Sweepers". :D
Also, most of you still don't know me, well, that's ok!
Just remember I used a Stall team long ago, which is actually true. =)
The Retired Stallers
~ The In-Depth Coverage ~
Hippowdon @ Leftovers
Impish [ +Def, -Sp.Atk ]
252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang
- Slack Off
- Stealth Rock
Comments:
~ Hippowdon, a Stall team without Hippowdon is basically a poser to real Stall. :P Just kidding.
Hippowdon gives a much needed Rock resist and naturally, a great Tyranitar counter. <3
Earthquake is a much appreciated STAB, and with Ice Fang it makes one of the BEST Garchomp counters EVER. :3
Slack Off, as simple as I can say it, is a much needed instant recovery, while Stealth Rock forms a piece of the 3 entry hazards, vital to a Stall team, to punish things trying to switch in to their heart's content. =)
Salamence @ Life Orb
Rash [ +Sp.Atk, -Sp.Def ]
120 Atk / 176 Spe / 212 Sp.Atk
- Brick Break
- Draco Meteor
- Fire Blast
- Roost
Comments:
~ One may say, "But I thought all Stall teams were 6 Walls 0 Sweepers!". Well, I said at the start I use "5 Walls 1 Sweeper", with the Sweeper cleaning up at the end of a exhausting match for the Walls.
Note that I use 176 Spe, to outspeed neutral Spe nature Lucario, in fear of them brutally punishing me with Stone Edge or something.
While I have said this in my previous RMT, I will say this again. Draco Meteor + Brick Break + Fire Blast covers every single Pocket Monster for at least neutral.
Roost on the other hand, heals off Life Orb and Sandstorm damage, which tends to add up rather quickly. =/
Also, it gives a Ground immunity, yay.
Spiritomb @ Leftovers
Calm [ +Sp.Def, -Atk ]
252 HP / 76 Sp.Atk / 180 Sp.Def
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power Fighting
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
Comments:
~ Spiritomb is arguably, the best Rapid Spin Blocker. Unlike Dusknoir, it doesn't roll over and die to Dark-type moves. As for all the other Ghost-types...must I state the obvious? :(
Shadow Ball is THE BEST MOVE on Rest Talk Spiritomb, hence why it will never be removed. ( Yes, I use Caps to emphasize my point. ^_^ )
Hidden Power Fighting is much loved, Spiritomb would hug the move if it could. Since it has the power to hit at least everything neutral, in the famous combination of Ghost + Fighting.
Rest + Sleep Talk is very good, provides an insured chance of recovering at least something, while a nasty mishap with Pain Split could lower your HP and boost your opponent. =/
Also, I am of the opinion every Stall team needs a Rest-Talker. ;)
Forretress @ Shed Shell
Impish [ +Def, -Sp.Atk ]
252 HP / 76 Atk / 180 Def
- Earthquake
- Toxic Spikes
- Spikes
- Rapid Spin
Comments:
~ Forretress, oh how I love your gigantic Def and resistance to Dragon, which is perhaps a very game-breaking move in OU in my opinion.
Earthquake gives Magnezone so much to worry about, and brutally "punishes" Nidoqueen coming to absorb Toxic Spikes, which has had a recent spark in usage, only about ~7 slots from the line to become OU. :o
Rapid Spin, a very essential move to the world of Stall, is a must on every single Forretress, you hear me?! :P
Toxic Spikes and Spikes form the 2 missing pieces of the entry hazards, with Hippowdon utilizing Stealth Rock.
Snorlax @ Leftovers
Thick Fat
Careful [ +Sp.Def, -Sp.Atk ]
252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Sp.Def
- Body Slam
- Crunch
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
Comments:
~ Snorlax is a Special Wall mostly hidden by the massive shadow of Blissey, but unlike Blissey it doesn't just sit there, STAB Body Slam with that paralysis possibility is always disliked. Unlike Blissey's mere Seismic Toss. =)
Body Slam, is a lovely STAB, and while with no EQ it seems impossible to beat Heatran, Body Slam eventually wins, with Stealth Rock and Spikes already pushing it.
Crunch makes this into a possible Gengar and Mismagius counter.
RestTalk is a very good thing on Snorlax, with no other forms of recovery.
Registeel @ Leftovers
Relaxed [ +Def, -Spe ]
252 HP / 56 Atk / 200 Sp.Def
- Hammer Arm
- Ice Punch
- Explosion
- Thunderbolt
Comments:
~ Don't ask why I'm using Registeel, I couldn't think of anything else that can take both type of hits not named Cresselia. :(
Hammer Arm automatically OHKOs Tyranitar and still hits Lucario and Heatran, most notably. Earthquake wouldn't do much to Metagross anyway. =/
Explosion is a lovely move on here, since Stealth Rock is already taken on this team, and Toxic Spikes pretty much makes Toxic redundant, I will go all out, no support moves.
Ice Punch is a good move, naturally, and with Thunderbolt and Hammer Arm, it doesn't get walled so badly by Fire, Steel, or Water-types. :)
One may ask, "Why no Thunder? 30% paralysis and 120 BP is pretty good!" Well, Toxic Spikes hands out status already, and then 70% accuracy is just too much of a risk in my opinion, Thunderbolt still hits Skarmory and Gyarados pretty well, 2HKOing the latter.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I apologize if by your standards, this team is metagame weak. However, you can't expect much from a team thrown together in about 15 minutes. ^_^ There are exceptions to that, but we'll ignore them.
