I must say, with hazards up and a good Gliscor lure, Jolly SD Scizor is a very powerful sweeping threat. Jolly lets you beat all the stupid subCharge Magnezone running around and lets you get the jump on most bulky waters with a +2 LO Bug Bite.

Another highly underrated offensive setup sweeper is Nasty Plot Jynx. It has the unique ability to not only switch in on almost all rain stall, but it has the ability to 2hko or 1hko every rain stall member, with the only exception being spdef. Jirachi which is 3hko'ed by +2 Ice Beam. Tentacruel, Politoed, and Chansey are massacred by Psyshock, Sassy Ferrothorn is 2hko'ed and can only break your sub with Gyro Ball, and Perish Song doesn't really prevent you from coming in on Toed and throwing up another sub. SubNP overall is a fairly safe switch-in vs. most bulky waters, particularly things like Suicune and Vaporeon, but it really shines vs. rain stall as you can come in for free on the primary spiker/spinner Tentacruel and proceed to set up safely. Even rain offense has a tough time with it, as politoed's strongest hit is Focus Miss or hidden power which doesn't do great damage and allows you to sub spam for a miss, and you outspeed specs sets and can scout their attack, and having a sub up lets you demolish the frail sweepers like Tornadus and Toxicroak.

Mmmf, thanks Nix. I had no idea I could do that o_O

Now that you mention it Kenshiro, Jolly SD Sciz does sound quite good on paper. We all know that it has the bulk and resistances, It reaches the 245 speed tier, it has the powerful Bullet Punches and Bug Bites, it can Roost...

SD Scizor is exceedingly rare, but I have seen a few. One managed to take out my Gliscor with a +4 BP.

Oh my god stop using Roost on Offensive SD Scizor before I get an ulcer.

Notable traits about Jolly Swords Dance Scizor:
  • OHKOs opposing Scizor w/ Superpower after +2
  • OHKOs the most common variants of Jirachi with Bug Bite
  • Outspeeds and OHKOs Rotom-W too
  • Does decent damage to physical walls like Skamory before going down
  • Magnezone deux death

A thing to note about skarmory: it's actually better if it outspeeds SD scizor! It's completely fucked after taking the + 2 superpower as it can't roost it off.

Which Scizor are you specifying, exactly? With the Scizor I mentioned, being phased is inevitable, but in return, Scizor does upwards of 50% to Skarmory (with SuperPower) after the boost. Slower Swords Dance variants need to weaken Skarmory quite a bit before predicting Roost, so defeating Skarmory rather way is quite the pay-off. IMO, I'd much rather have Jirachi, Rotom-W, and other walls out of the way rather than be outsped, then be crippled or KO'd by them.

If i we're using a pure offensive SD scizor I would never use Jolly, your primary sweeping move is bullet punch, magnezone is really quite uncommon, and why would you attempt to sweep if they have a magnezone? Would you use jolly and risk missing a KO on something dumb like landorus?

Scizor@Life Orb
Adamant
252 attack/156 hp/100 speed
Swords Dance
Bullet Punch
Super Power
Bug Bite

Outspeeds Heatran that don't invest and other pokemon in that same range. Keeps Bullet Punch at maximum power, and retains a good amount of bulk too.

myzozoa, I'm pretty sure AccidentalGreed was referring to the standard bulky SD Scizor that only invests 40 Atk EVs. He actually brought many convincing points for reasons to go Jolly. I think the main selling point is being able to OHKO non-choiced Rotom-W with +2 LO Bug Bite, which will actually facilitate the Bullet Punch sweep. Taking out Scizors, Magnezones, and Jirachi also helps, too, in this regard.
