Strange pokerus glitch.

My Garchomp had already been infected with pokerus, but I leveled it up through the elite four. After getting it to level 55, I used EV reducing berries in all stats. The pokerus had been cleared for 2 or 3 days and it had the smiling emoticon.

So I went on and I ev trained it in the respective stats. Oddly enough they didn't add up and I didn't get the EV spread I wanted. I used EV reducing berries again and EV trained him paying very close attention. Still I got an imbalance.

I kept doing calculations and trying to tinker with it for hours and still no luck. I finally figured out the garchomp had pokerus, but was still cured of it at the same time! Every EV I gave it was actually double.

Thinking this was just a fluke, I tried my Starmie. This pokemon had also been leveled in the elite four, and given EV reducing berries. I then gave it carbos and calcium. This starmie had Pokerus and I trained it. There was an imbalance here, but I assume I was training improperly. After EV training it, pokerus cleared. I gave it some EV reducing berries and re-ev trained it. This pokemon had the same problem, pokemon were giving it double EVs even though it had the cleared symbol.

Oddly enough, this only happens to pokemon I level through the elite four, then EV reduce them. My Raikou did not suffer this glitch.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Thanks ArrEmmDee. A mod can lock this now.

You'll still get the EV doubling even if they've been 'cleared' of Pokérus. It just means they can't spread it to other members of your party any more.

Pokemon are nver "cleared" of pokerus. The smiling emoticon simply means they can't pass it to any other members of your team. The inactive pokemon, however, still recieves the effects.

Yep these guys are right, the affects of Pokerus do not ever leave a pokemon once they're been infected. There's only a time frame for how long you're contagious. A nice plus eh?

Actually, as long as you stick your pokemon in your box before midnight, they will NEVER lose it.

Edit: Kumar you kinda forgot to close it :/
