XY OU Sub-Roost- Calm Mind Latias-M

Latias (F) @ Latiasite
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 152 HP / 220 Def / 20 SpA / 36 SpD / 80 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Substitute
- Roost
- Stored Power

Latias is the team member which this team was built around. 1) It got a significant boost in def and spef, thus making it the ideal mon for the sub-roost-calm mind set. 2) The idea behind this set is to get behind a sub and then gradually set up with calm mind in order to sweep. 3) I like to run enough speed evs to outspeed jolly smeargle in order to set a sub on its face.
Conkeldurr @ Assault Vest
Ability: Guts
EVs: 252 Atk / 5 Def / 252 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Drain Punch
- Ice Punch
- Knock Off
- Mach Punch

1) I choose the standard bulky conk because its natural bulk combined with AV allows it take a hit. 2) One perfect stop to this latias set is dark types, making a fighting type a necessary. 3) Mach punch is there to ensure some kills and ice punch to KO some Landos on the switch-in while knock off is there to get a kill on some gengars.

Thundurus-Therian (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 168 HP / 252 SpA / 88 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 30 Def
- Agility
- Thunderbolt
- Focus Blast
- Hidden Power [Ice]

1) At this point i realized my team was lacking raw power so i decided on Thundurus-T. This particular set is very interesting. 2) Τhundurus-T role on the team is to either sweep or heavily dent the opposing team in order for another mon to sweep. 3) Get in on something weak against electric, set an Agility and then basically sweep :P. But seriously, this set is extremely powerful with enough speed evs to outspeed excadrill in the sand and of course the common scarfed Lando-T. Fun fact: with this HP investment this Thundurus can take an ice shard from mamoswine and then kill it with focus miss.

Talonflame @ Choice Band
Ability: Gale Wings
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 128 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def / 124 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Brave Bird
- Flare Blitz
- U-turn
- Tailwind

1) Talonflame is great against hyper offense teams that don't allow latias or Thundurus -T to set up. 2) Again, talonflame serves as either a late game sweeper or sth to get rid of some things that annoy my set up sweepers. 3) U turn for momentum and tailwind can sometimes help Thundurus-T sweep without an agility . At last, some speed creep to outspeed the other birds.

Excadrill @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Iron Head
- Rapid Spin

1)Excadrill is there to get rid of the main talonflame checks rotom-w, heatran and tyranitar. 2) Excadrill's natural bulk allows it to take a hit. 3) I decided on scarf because it outspeeds talonflame which can be a problem for my team and KOs it with rock slide. Rapid spin is there to clear the field for talonflame to shine.

Gengar @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Sludge Bomb
- Focus Blast
- Taunt

1) Gengars speed and power make it a difficult mon to switch in for offensive teams 2) Also it's a check to fighting types. 3) Life orb to boost your attacks and max speed in order to speed tie with the eon twins and outspeed keldeo. I decided on taunt over psychic just because gengar can be a great counter to lead ferro as it can prevent it from laying hazards and then deal some heavy damage.

alright cool u have lati aight take off the spatk and spdef you dont really need it seeing as you have CALM MIND. invest the rest in speed and also have enough speed zard x or garchomp seeing as they can revenge kill you when weakened. Make bird jolly to outspeed magnezone. Other than that solid team and you have good reasonings but next time add some pictures and a importable to give the rater a better time of rating to honestly help you out and a import for people that want to use your team.

Yup, Max Sp Def and HP Isn't good imo. Latias is cool and all, but doesn't need a sub either. I would recommend this set, which is standard for CM Stored power Mega Latias.

Latias-Mega @ Latiasite
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spe
IVs: 0 Atk
Bold Nature
- Stored Power
- Roost/Recover
- Calm Mind
- Dragon Pulse? Really Put whatevs ya want here.

Since your Thundurus has investment in HP, I think you should give Leftovers a try.

CB Talonflame isn't too viable anymore, since you're locked into one move. Definitely use this set!

Talonflame @ Sharp Beak
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 88 HP / 252 Atk / 168 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Swords Dance
- Roost
- Brave Bird

168 Spe gives you enough to outspeed Timid+ Raikou, so you can bring it in and Revenge kill. 88 HP also gives you 2 Chances to switch into Stealth Rock.

Everything else looks fine!

Hope it helps, and thanks for improving your descriptions!

Thundurus-T is definitley better with Nasty Plot > Focus Blast and Lefties as Rainbow suggested. Double Dance Thund-T is probably one of its only viable sets in OU and it works like most Pokemon of the same archetype, you use the boosting move that is effective depending on the type of team you're facing. You already have one of the best Tyranitar counters in the game so Focus Miss isnt missed too much especially when Gengar also carries it and you also have an Excadrill.

Speaking of Gengar, you really want Sludge Wave > Bomb so you arent walled by Chesnaught, which is rare but not unviable so you may see it.

Scarf Drill isnt too good anymore but if you're set on using it at least use Jolly > Adamant to RK +1 Adamant ZardX. Although in reality you may just want to go with an Air Balloon Mold Breaker set with Stealth Rock over Rock Slide so you have hazards on your team. You can still run Jolly on that if youre afraid of Mamoswine.

I also agree with the rest of Rainbow+'s changes.

The team still has room to grow but hopefully these changes set you on the right track without changing too many things.

I was in the forum neighborhood looking for a good stored power m latias team and omfg this team does wonders. I tried the one Pokeaimmd showcased in his 'Enter Mega' series on YouTube but I was only decent with that team. I used this one and so far I'm 7-0 with this team. Im not bad, but im not amazing either, but I had little trouble sweeping (I'm not just talking about Latias) with this team. I used the Talonflame set suggested by Sparkl3y, and the Thundurus+Gengar changes suggested by Darkerones as well. Very good team, especially after these adjustments. I highly encourage giving this team a try if you haven't already
