Welcome to the Super Smash Bros Brawl Tournament 2vs2 sign ups and Smogon Brawl website BETA launch party!

Feel free to check out the website here. At the moment it is very simple, but will be expanded upon as time goes on to include more things such as Brawl snapshots and a neater interface. Not much to see now, but if you're curious about the results of the previous tournament without looking for the thread a quick look at the site will show you those results and keep you up to date on current tournaments.

Now on to the current tournament. As was mentioned before it will be a 2vs2, with teams of 2 or 3. Each team should have at least 2 members but in the event a scheduling conflict arises a member can be subbed out for another, THIS IS NOT NECESSARY though, so do not fret if you cannot come up with a third member.

Rules are as follows:
Best 2 out of 3
2 players vs 2 players set to Team Brawl
4 stock
No items, all items set to off and appearance to none
Certain stages will be banned
Vote in poll for friendly fire


I'm looking for 32 teams, I will not force free agents to join, so it is up to the free agents to form a team.

We don't have a name yet, but StrangerDanger and I are on a team together. So I guess the name will come later, probly something Fire Emblem related, dunno yet.

edit: I immediately voted friendly fire on when I got into this thread, but now I'm having second thoughts. I forgot ZSS can take 100% off ness/lucas in a matter of seconds ._.

My brother doesn't have a smogon a account, but he and i would like to enter as a team. He might make one just to confirm this. I voted friendly fire off, just because better safe than sorry.

I'll probably come up with a 3rd member quite soon however, so don't worry.

EDIT: if someone hasnt played me, let me just briefly tell you im pretty decent at this game. alot of people are better than me, but i exploit cheap weaknesses a lot in order to win. i can play anyone, if it will help out our matches, but i would preffer to play wolf, fox, falco, link, toon link, or sheik.
i was MUCH better at melee untill i dropped it for a while due to nobody to play (i was that guy who would 4 stock everyone with fox, and make you cuss me out for waveshining you to the edge and then shine spiking you [and then edgeguading]), and i literally lost half of my playstyle and about all of my skill. im working my way back up the learning ladder of brawl since i never went back to melee.
 
quinnydinny and I are teaming up. We've got no name for our team yet. Proposing the temporary name "Team Damnit Someone Stole My Bike Seat".

He'll confirm when he gets back from work (or whenever he feels lazy).

EDIT: Friendly fire on. That's the only way to do this imo.
 
I would like to Join as a team. I use (and am probably best with) Lucas. Also, I don't want friendly fire. I'm so clumsy I'll probably kill my teamate more often than the opponent D:
 
(I don't have brawl (yet)). Why do people want friendly fire off? Friendly fire allows you to use strategies and you can help your partner recover etc.

Not to mention that having it off really encourages camping/campy strategies.


Anyways I need a teammate too. We should all start doing some 2v2's to see what works ;). I'll be gone from tomorrow(Wednesday) till Sunday or next Wednesday though. Hope I don't miss sign ups.

I'm actually wondering this very same question. I too have a pretty damn good brother and wanted to know if he could join in on the fight too.

also, the winner of this tournament will be a pair of spammers, since friendly fire is off. i preffer it off for friendlies, but not in serious torunaments where people will exploit projectiles just to win.
EDIT: Shaky, i would have to play you to consider if i wanted to team with you. pm me your fc so we can do some test battles.

guys are you kidding me? 2 vs 2 without friendly fire is completely broken. being able to hide behind your partner and laser camp is ridiculously stupid, and honestly, it's your own fault if you hit your partner / get hit by your partner.
