You know what I hate Pit too and I was also planingon doing a rant cause a friend I know does the exact same two starategies. I swear I need to find a way to kick Pit's ass or I'll kill the guy I know that plays Pit.
 
Still how is pressing a button really fast skill...

Also Miltonic, I am sorry but I cant even say those were good games when you playd as mario. I have a harder time with the CPU on easy (or level 3)

You spamed smash attacks despite the fact my grab range exceeds that. Dont be so predictable

You did much better with Lucario,and those were good matches, but I can tell you here that Mario is not the character for you
 
Well apparently the Pit player was really good. I fail to see how the other two combatants did not know he only spammed 2 moves and couldn't come up with something to defeat him. Shame on him the first few times, Shame on them the rest of the times. I've played Pits that spam those two moves exclusively and they are amusingly easy kills.

Maybe it's because I know the character or it's because I know how to get in his kill range.

But if the same strategy is working for him a change in his tactics would have been retarded. He did own that tournament and he does deserve to brag to a certain extent. It is about winning.
 
I finally picked out my top 3, but my main wasn't on my original list because I hadn't played as him yet. My top3 are: Wolf, Kirby, Bowser (in that order). Wolf shine + fsmash = unavoidable death.

yeah with Mario i wasnt very great and the truth is that, that wasnt really me playing at first, it was someone else who has an obsession with smash attacks, then i saw how bad they were doing and i took over with Lucario. sorry if the first matches with Mario were bad and that wasnt really me at first.
 
With a bit of WiFi experience now, I would say Ike has been clinched as my main. I don't do as well with Marth, and I like Meta Knight less than I did originally. I'm also starting to appreciate Wario for his aerials in particular; he's nice as a novelty secondary choice.

On another note, I don't really like playing WiFi with Final Smashes on. Virtual instant KO for the person who breaks the ball isn't a lot of fun.

Yes but in a timed battle (1 minute) the time it takes to KO Pit is not enough when he can eliminate 30+ seconds off the clock by spamming 2 moves. Then he just does the same in sudden death.

Not much you can really do about that. The guy is not good... I doubt he would win in a stock match since his "strategy" would no longer work.
 
I hope to be joining you all soon with Brawl analysis. I just ordered a Wii on Ebay and should recieve it sometime a week and a half to two weeks from now.
 
I want to Main Marth because he is sooo hot and not many people use him on WiFi! I think I'm pretty good with him with tipping attacks and everything... but I don't know how to use his sideB and downB properly... any tips?

I hope Marth users don't come back because he's MINE. >:D
 
Kristy, do you play online? Marth is one of the characters that got significantly nerfed, although his dancing blade got much better.
 
Kristy, I don't think maining marth because he's "so hot" is the best of reasons to main someone XD (although I should probably tell that to the majority of pre-pubescent zamus users, and besides marth is totally gay, the guy wears a freaking tiara). Sorry kristy, I've been mean today.

edit: wolt, isn't marth still a top-tier candidate or something? I don't play him at at, but I hear he was basically unchanged from melee, aside from a general nerf in range.
 
I never said he was bad, just got nerfed a big area. He wears the tiara for a reason, but not that it matters.

And yeah, I don't care if he's nerfed and I play him because he's hot and I <3 him. XD And I don't have WiFi, Wolt. =( I'm planning to get the Nintendo USB thingies, though. I would play Ike but he's too... manly. :P I think I do pretty good with him since I could beat both my brother's. And I fence in real life so I kinda like small, thin swords. =D I just don't know how to use his down and side specials without messing up and getting hit...

While from zerowing's story it sounds like he was only using 2 attacks... he clearly was not "button mashing" and most likely was playing Pit smart. Although do remember that Brawl itself is a human made game, and we cannot assume it to be balanced.

I haven't played against a spamming Pit yet... but I have played other video games where "cheezing" to victory (as my friends call it) is the best way to win. (Dragonzord Aerial kick -> stomp in "Mighty Morphing Power Rangers" on the Genesis was an unstoppable combo starter.) I hope this isn't the case with brawl... hmm...

he got a nerf in range and it's harder to hit with the tipper now (fsmash feels slower). he got a really big boost in his recovery and lost his grab combo potential.

also you can't spam fair into a combo (although you can still spam fair). other than that, marth remains the same and is probably going to remain top tier.

ike is more fun in ffa though teehee.

I'll still use Marth, though! =P He's not popular, right? I only like underused characters. :P
 
to add on to what cloud said he also got a boost in overall speed which is incredibly useful. he's definitely one of the best if not the best character in the game imo.
 
Theres a lot of speculation on whos the best. Right now theres no one really emerging at the top yet. I think a lot of guys have been given a second chance. My guess? Mario. Thats right, Mario. Nobody knows it yet though.

EDIT: forgot Pikachu, what else is new?

Ike
Marth
Pit spam is sooooo easy to beat, I'm ashamed of all of you =(
Lucas for the win. Absorb some arrows, annoy him with projectiles when he gets the picture and finally gets close lay some aerial beats. Din's fire spam with Zelda on a platform level will do it, or just reflect his arrows. Also, ANY character can approach safely with caution and skilled dodging.
Point about button mashing. Button mashers will never succeed against any remotely skilled player at this game.
 
That was a joke. But Mario does have a chance to be not the middle of the middle. All his moves are much better and come out a lot quicker, although its too bad he got a useless B move. Now I'm going to disprove most of your list for top tier.

Zelda (LOL no. She may have gotten buffs, but no, not close.)
Diddy (Eh, just doesn't have the killing power, so not the best I'd say.)
Pit (I'll give you that, hes seems great.)
Wolf (Yep, Wolfs a bitch to fight.)
Snake (No, just no. To slow and laggy.)
Toon Link (Hard to say, but he seems up there.)
Lucas (A PK user has never made it high at all, Lucas is no exception, he may be better then Ness, and even that may not be true, but hes not good enough for high.

Marth will be high again, thats an easy given. No for Ike, as hes quite the mixed bag, hell, even Ken is playing him now just to figure him out. I don't know about Olimar, as Kira has only used like 3 moves on me.
 
I think Zelda got a real buff, from being mediocre to playable... god that Din's fire is annoying, and her smash attacks are powerful. In the other half they nerfed her Sheik alter ego.

I still like Lucas, i think has potential, i just have to stop suiciding on fucking final destination-under platform =(.

Kirby is playable as well, i find it better than in melee and got some killing power, or at least much more than it had on Melee.

(I tested some of these characters with Epic if he recalls it).

Even DK, but that sucked big time =P.
