hey so i'm back here

one thing I wanted to say: for reasons reasons, Ttos has been changed post-slate (but no worries it's like actually all flavor)

New Piskel-1.png (94).png

his name is now tynar. say hello to tynar. this is his new sprite.

I got nothing better to do since I am stuck in the largest storm that has hit my country directly in 150+ years, (thank you developed countries, mega corporations and their greenhouse gas contributions to climate change) so I will be having a discussion on the winners and what the metagame looks like right now.

:tyranitar: Ttos Tynar is for all intents and purposes Nat Dex Tyranitar, who trades a few stat points for some very strong tools like Sucker Punch, Spikes and even Pain Split. Expect this to be a public menace now and in the future, as Tynar has introduced real pursuit trapping into the metagame, making the lives of Ghost, Psychic and to a much lesser extent Fire types a living hell.

:Yanmega: I am personally not sure how to feel about this guy. I do appreciate the addition of a brand new metagame, and this isn't anything close to the likes of the "fodder" wins from yesteryear. Yet I can't quite think this is the worst choice for a Bug type addition by a very large margin based on what was present at the time, since I can only assume this was voted for because of "Bug rep". That being said, it's probably rather decent in wallbreaking, it's dual STABs are boosted by Sheer Force and it has Earth Power, but it comes with hella annoying caveats thanks to its x4 SR weakness, meaning you heavily cut into your survivability or your power. Stakeout struggles even more, because that is an ability that relies on punishing switches, but if you run Heavy Duty Boots, and Air Slash and Bug Buzz are your chief damage dealers, you are looking at a rough time, especially for that follow up hit without Stakeout behind it. I see Yanmega but I don't have very high expectations for it.

:corviknight: I subbed it so I will be brief. It adds an interesting offensive / defensive Flying type to the tier, not unlike Zapdos in concept, but each executes that in very different ways. The ever potent Swords Dance user, Pirotte can Punch a few good holes into teams, even if it got a few strong checks added. It's utility sets seem to be fine as well, none of its checks are not switching into a Knock Off comfortably. Very solid gluemon.

:Rotom: This guy is Rotom that trades Levitate and Nasty Plot (HUGE ngl) for everything else it could ever want on this earth. Access to Knock Off, priority, Recover, Encore even Toxic Spikes are all huge gains for something like Felp. It's ability though takes it up a notch, and makes even straight offensive sets tough to handle. Turning Poltergeist into an actual special STAB is terrifying, and can allow it to take huge chunks out a big threats. Pursuit being real sucks for it though, as is it's awkward typing, so that always puts a limit to how good offensive sets can be. But I expect big things here.

:heliolisk: Mr. Monster Hunter here serves as the traditional offensive Electric with a very different offensive profile than Big Crammer and even offensive Zapdos. It has solid unique coverage options, and also has the means of going physical, making it far more powerful and versatile with Bulk Up Extreme Speed. Speed Boost also allows both special and physical sets to be potential late game cleaners, but it's rather decent offensive stats right off that bat rein in its potential. Still, a great addition.

:Krookodile: Not my favourite Aquatic sub this round, as I think better things got subbed, and not my fav Krook from the meta either, but I digress. Cliffside is the second fastest Dark iirc, and checks quite a few Pokémon very well, especially considering it's varied but useful abilities and expansive utility options present. Stealth Rock, Defog, Taunt, Toxic, Parting Shot, Knock Off, are only scratching the service of what it can do as a pivot. It is also notable for being able to get up Rocks through the few Magic Bounce users in the tier via Mold Breaker, and offensive sets can efficiently stallbreak with Merciless. All in all a very solid pick.

:kangaskhan-mega: Nasty Bugger Mega Kanga is, even if it loses the Seismic Toss aspect. It's not an impossible Pokémon to handle but I expect it to be quite the threat off rip for many teams. Pirrote and Zapdos stocks have surely jumped up until this gets paired with Gravity sets and our checks boil down to the goat dhelmise and maybe Praying Visitor (idk how many non Gravity affected Ground resists we have‍‍‍). I'm expecting Fake Out/Return/Earthquake/Power Up Punch to be the norm, with Sucker Punch sneaking in from time to time.

All in all, interesting slate with some cool additions, I think the metagame is in a somewhat healthy space right now. Imo we can afford to get a bit stronger physical attackers and Ghost type mons due to how overwhelmingly strong the meta is against these threats, ESPECIALLY Ghost types, so more emphasis on those is expected. Otherwise the meta is doing well on paper, let's see how well we go on in the next couple of slates.

I heard this mod is in need of more metagame defining Ghost Pokémon. So, here's Lopunny-Kitakami. On a different note, I noticed this project has so few Bug Pokémon. It also doesn't help the metagame is kind of hostile to them. I figured I could add some new potential toys to play with.

Description:
1) Competitive
- Lopunny-Kitakami's claim to faim is its signature move Prance and Pierce, which combines the effect of pivoting, physical 100 BP Ghost type Future Sight, and Poisoning. You can pair this with a Fighting Pokémon for a potent and nearly unresisted Ghost + Fighting combo. Because Prance and Pierce forces Lopunny-Kitakami to come in and attack with this move after you have set it up 2 turns before, this Pokémon can make good use of a boosting item, like Choice Band, to increase the damage. In that way, Lopunny-Kitakami is a much more potent enabler than your traditional Future Sight users despite its rather average to low Atk stat. Even if the target can handle the combination of Ghost + Fighting, it still has to watch out for poisoning.
- Other than Prance and Pierce, Lopunny-Kitakami provides a lot of utility with moves like Heal Bell, Healing Wish, Will-O-Wisp, Switcheroo, Encore, etc., some of which are pretty limited in this metagame, notably Heal Bell and Healing Wish.
- Fwiw, Lopunny-Kitakami can Terastallize to get around Pursuit or to deal even more damage with Prance and Pierce. With Regenerator, it's bound to stay relatively healthy throughout a game.

Description:
1) Concept
Allghoikhorkhoi.jpg

- Intestinorm is based on a cryptid known as the Mongolian Death Worm. It's said to live in the most desolate parts of a desert. What makes it extremely dangerous is its poison as well as its electrical discharge. Fwiw, Life Dew is a reference to the sand worms from Dune. In the Pokémon universe, some people believe Intestinorm could be either Orthworm or Sandaconda.

Description:
2) Competitive
- Offensive utility Pokémon with Electric Surge to support Quark Drive users as well as grounded Electric Pokémon. Dual typing synergizes well with this structure defensively and offensively. Furthermore, this Pokémon offers hazards and Mortal Spin, essentially functioning like Torkoal on a specific archetype.
- Speaking of Archetype, Intestinorm is flexible enough to exert sufficient offensive pressure if necessary. Its movepool allows for a lot of offensive customization. For instance, Eerie Impulse lowers a target's SpA by 2 stages but it also provides Intestinorm with +2 SpA. A similar logic applies to Acid Spray, among many other moves. More importantly, Intestinorm is a Bug Pokémon that doesn't loose to our three Unaware Pokémon: Big Clefable, Skeledirge, and Clodsire.

Item: Honey
Mod: VGC 20XX
Effect: At the end of the turn, the Bug type user consumes this item and raises its most proficient stat by 1 stage.
Purpose: Item that enables any offensive Bug Pokémon in this metagame, providing a much needed boost to Spe or Atk / SpA. I didn't mention a defensive boost because I assume that will rarely come up unless a certain Bug Pokémon has the necessary stats for the ease of set-up.

Weight: 14kg
Description: Adds another Bug-type to the meta. Second fastest mon, right behind Meta Knight, can work as both an offensive regen pivot, as it has access to STAB U-Turn, as well as a decent Atk stat and as mentioned before, very high Spe, or as a SD sweeper, it can use Substitute and STAB Leech Life to set up and keep itself healthy. While Regen helps with any hazard chip, it still likes to run boots due to its Stealth Rock weakness, its STABs are kinda weak, and lacks a lot of coverage, only having Stomping Tantrum to use.

Nat dex movepool + Ion Saw, Scythe Limbs, Zephyr Blade,

Description: Aegislash is a Steel / Ghost who is a great tank in glacemons alongside being a great wallbreaker, setup sweeper, and can be irritating with toxic + king shield / sub. Thanks to gaining fighting stab in blade form and having 1.2x power built into it, it can definitely be even more powerful pre SS stat nerfs. It can fit on a load of teams from HO, BO, and balance. The tier lacks ghost types and i think glacemon aegislash is quite an interesting fit. With king shield recovering health it can stay healthy over the course of a game especially if it suffers from a knock off. King shield can also help slow games down by making it so opponents dont carelessly throw contact moves into it.
If Aegislash: Blade is Ghost/Fighting with 1.2x power on attacks; Shield is Ghost/Steel and heals 1/8 max HP before King's Shield.
Ion Saw 30 100% 10 Electric Physical Hits three times. 10% chance to paralyze with each hit. (Slice)
Night Slash 70 100% 15 Dark Physical Deals additional damage of 1/16 of the target's max HP. High critical hit ratio. (Contact, Slice)
Scythe Limbs 65 100% 5 Bug Physical Hits twice. Lowers the user's Attack by 1 after each hit. Doesn't lower Atk if used on a turn where the target switches out. (Slicing)
Zephyr Blade 85 100% 15 Flying Physical High critical hit ratio. (Contact) (Slicing) (Wind)

Description: Mega ampharos has seen some experimentation and i beileve it can fit quite well, with the lack of electrics i believe it has a spot alongside other megas and pokemon, checking stuff like big crammer, gyarados with priority overvolt rail, zapdos, nidoqueen, and potentially more. But with priority, good bulk thanks to stalwart and good damage when its health % is lower than its opponent, it can really feel unique and useful
Sleep Talk - -% 10 Normal Status If user is asleep, uses one of their non-sleep talk moves at random. Rest no longer fails if pulled.

Description: Mid speed wallbreaker that can beat defensive cores with choice sets or SD. EdgeQuake coverage lets it gets past special walls like Scorching Kiln and Big Crammer, while physical sets can get stronger coverage and a stronger U-turn/Knock (or for both sets cripple a mon with Trick). Both have the tools to beat ghosts resists like Icaruff, Garg Plushie Garvaluna and Houndoom. As a SD sweeper, Ankh beats Skeledirge and forces the tera on Clodsire, while still keeping some utility in bad MUs by blocking Spin + Defog in HO teams.
