We wanted Tera in Gen 9 SSS. But super Shedinja is the Bug/Ghost slot. What should we do?

  • Implement Terastilization, but redo Bug/Ghost.

Not even gonna waste time because I am running late, and I know everyone is waiting fot it.

Slate 8: Rock/Fairy, Poison/Dragon and Water/Electric

You know what to do.

Items also won't be allowed to be subbed until the next type cycle begins, in order to minimize the ount of new items that get in.

First off, have a spreadsheet. It's a hybrid between those of regular Stereotypes and Super Smash Mods Melee; the first two sheets are styled after the former, while the latter is inspired the color scheme and custom element sheets.

Second, I feel inclined to finally throw something in.

Pokémon: Ringo Ando
Mod of Origin: Crossover Chaos
Stats: 80/100/80/100/120/60 (540 BST)
Type:

Abilities: Analytic, Rattled, Harvest
Signature move: Puyo Pop - Water, Special, 10 BP, 90% Acc, 15 PP | Hits up to 4 times, with each hit having its own accuracy check and gaining +10 BP (like Triple Kick). If it hits all four times, hazards are cleared from the user's side.
Other moves: Thunderbolt, Discharge, Volt Switch, Wood Hammer, Grav Apple, Psychic, Hyper Voice, Fling, Natural Gift, Calm Mind, Laser Focus, Sing, Thunder Wave, Trick Room, Magic Room, Slack Off, Refresh, Stealth Rock, Spikes
Z-Move: Permutation - Electric, Special, 200 BP | Requires Thunderbolt and Ringonium Z
Overview: Primarily special tank with swell typing, reliable recovery, hazards, and a 65.61% chance of clearing hazards with Puyo Pop. That said, her coverage leaves something to be desired, and Puyo Pop is unreliable as a whole.

Pokemon: Rotom-Wash

Type:

Stats: 50 / 65 / 107 / 105 / 107 / 86
Moves: Rotom-W's movepool, -Toxic
Description: Rotom-Wash with mini-Regen and nothing else. Rotom is already a cool mon, so that's fine.

Pokemon: Nympheral
MoO: Stereotypes
Type:

Ability: Beast Boost
Stats: 71 / 109 / 83 / 89 / 67 / 151
Moves: Calm Mind, Diamond Storm, Draining Kiss, Earth Power, Energy Ball, Explosion, Light Screen, Meteor Beam, Moonblast, Moonlight, Play Rough, Power Gem, Reflect, Stealth Rock, Trick Room, (Ally Switch, Amnesia, Ancient Power, Body Press, Bulldoze, Charm, Covet, Dazzling Gleam, Dig, Disarming Voice, Fairy Wind, Giga Impact, Gravity, Gyro Ball, Harden, Hyper Beam, Iron Defense, Magic Coat, Magic Room, Misty Explosion, Misty Terrain, Psych Up, Rock Blast, Rock Polish, Rock Slide, Rock Throw, Rock Tomb, Sandstorm, Smack Down, Stone Edge, Tackle, Terrain Pulse, Wide Guard, Wonder Room) All Universal TMs
Description: Lives and dies by Meteor Beam. Nympheral has threatening Rock/Fairy/Ground coverage and even has Calm Mind for extra setup action. Due to its blistering high Speed stat, it can afford to run Modest and still get the Speed boost from Beast Boost. While Nympheral is always threatening in the builder, it has difficulty dealing damage without its Meteor Beam boost and is easily checked by Machamp-Mega, Cofazor, and Garbodor-GMax to some extent.

Pokémon: Castform-Thunderstorm
Mod Of Origin: Alternatium
Stats: 75/80/70/100/110/115 (550)
Type:

Abilities: Levitate, Water Absorb, Sharpshooter* (HA)
On switch-in, this Pokemon activates the Lock-On effect.
Movepool: Castform's regular moveset but with these additions and removals.
+Flip Turn
+Volt Switch
+Calm Mind, +Pain Split, +Trick
...
-Blizzard, -Fire Blast, -Hurricane
...
Description: The resident cloud blob from Alt, Thunderstorm hopes to make it's name in SSS. Currently sitting at A- on the Alternatium tier list (though it is a bit outdated, but from replays and gameplay with Thunderstorm I expect it to either stay A- or rise to A) it's unique traits have allowed it to be a solid defensive and offensive check to many mons in the meta.
It's good Special Attacking stat, great speed tier, and excellent defensive typing allow it to run a variety of roles. Levitate allows it to switch into ground type attacks and removes a very big weakness while simultaneously allowing it to check offensive Ground types by being immune to their STAB. One big thing this mon has access to is Scald which absolutely cripples offensive threats and even makes opposing offensive Grass types wary of switching in in fear of a Scald burn. It also has some other utility options it could use; Defog to clear hazards, Toxic to cripple walls, and Calm Mind if one wishes to Set Up. Flip Turn and Volt Switch are both STAB options that allow it to act as a good offensive and defensive pivot.

It's middle ability, Water Absorb, was added in relation to the meta of Alt, specifically because Kyogre Primal was a big threat and I wished to give it a relevant weather related ability as insurance in case the meta leaned into weather wars in the future.

Lastly, Sharpshooter was my attempt at making a normally useless status move into an ability that allowed a mon to make use of it. Thunderstorm can make use of Sharpshooter by virtue of 2 of it's STABs; Thunder and Hydro Pump. With Trick added to its moveset, it's good SpA stat, and a good speed tier, I was hoping to create a potent wallbreakers that takes advantage of rain in a dangerous way. However as of right now, no results have shown much of anything (mostly because of actual lack of testing and less because the combination didn't work in the first place). Who knows, this combo might do better here in SSS, but for now that potential is laid dormant and only time will tell whether it will be of much fruition or not.

Pokemon: Tnepres
Mod of Origin: Calyrex's Cosmos and Creations
Stats: 100 / 120 / 86 / 75 / 84 / 90 [BST: 555]
Typing:

Abilities: Intimidate / Moody / Multiscale

Viable Moves:
- Crunch, Dragon Tail, Earthquake, Fire Fang, Gunk Shot, Ice Fang, Pursuit, Rock Slide, Sucker Punch
- meh
- Coil, Glare, Rest, Sleep Talk, Substitute, Switcheroo
Movepool = Arbok's Movepool + Draco Meteor
Nice fat setup mon with Coil and Multiscale, or a bulky pivot with Intimidate and Glare, or even a Scarfer with Pursuit and Switcheroo. However you run it, despite its lack of Dragon moves, this thing's got all kinds of synergy between its typing, movepool, stats, and abilities, making for a strong, versatile, and healthy addition to the meta.

:ss/rotom-wash:
Pokemon: Leonard-Wash (must have Scald in it moveset to be used)
Mod of Origin: Pet Mods All Stars

- Defog, Nasty Plot, Recharge*, Thunder Wave, Trick, Will-O-Wisp
Movepool = Rotom-Wash's Movepool +Scald, Recharge*, -Hydro Pump
Appliance Wear - Levitate Effects. This Pokemon swaps between forms depending on which moves it knows (ie Scald must be run for Wash).

Recharge
|
| - acc | 16pp
Heals the user by 50% of its max HP.
Priority: 0 | Targets the user
Who doesn't love getting washed by earl every game? In seriousness this is just Rotom-Wash with a couple of cool tweaks aka actual recovery and Scald over Pump. It also has to run Scald on every set but that hardly matters, it's always using it regardless.

Smack Down - 70bp.
Snore - 120bp, 16pp, no flinch chance.
Stone Edge - 95bp, 95% acc, 16pp.
Thunderbolt - 16pp.
Just a solid Everstone abuser with Cute Charm acting like a mini-Stamina to punish physical attackers. Plays as either a strong offensive rocker or a setup sweeper with Sharpen.

Movepool: Jolteon's movepool +Wailord's movepool
Description: Jolteon has an ass offensive movepool but is offensive. Wailord has an ass utility movepool but is defensive. Combine both and you get something really cool. Joltlord gets Ice Beam & a bunch of STAB Water options for offense + Wish, Heal Bell & Volt Switch for utility.

Viable Moves:
- Play Rough, Close Combat, Head Smash, Earthquake
- Light of Ruin, Moonblast, Meteor Beam, Earth Power
- Rock Polish, Dragon Dance, Stealth Rock, Calm Mind
Movepool = Tyrantrum's Movepool + Floette-Eternal's Movepool

Tyranette-Eternal is a powerful heartbreaker and potential RP sweeper in its home mod, and it can easily replicate its success from over there to here. In SSS where competitors are much less stuff, even the likes of a Dragon Dance set is not out of the question here.

Protects user from recoil, and prevents foes from lowering stats and inflicting status

- Nasty Plot, Slack Off, Thunder Wave, Calm Mind, Heal Bell, Teleport
Movepool = Slowking's Movepool + Discharge, Volt Switch, Thunderbolt, Rising Voltage, Heal Bell

Slowing is a dedicated Hard special wall, which may be something worth investing in later down the line. 95/75/135 bulk is outstanding, and Scald is annoying as ever to face.

New Abilities: Shield Dust / Multiscale | Intimidate
New Moves: See Unovan Venomoth + Flamethrower, Fire Fang, Fire Blast, Incinerate, Mystical Fire

Squawk subbed the defensive Unovan Venomoth, so I naturally had to sub it's more offensive evolution. Meet Venoraptor, a powerful Dragon Dance sweeper. Powerful Dual STABs, but it kinda struggles against Steels with its only options being Fire Fang, which I expect to only grow worse as time progresses. Even still, this Pokemon is no joke, can almost guarantee getting up a DDance thanks to MScale, maybe even pull off two, and at that point you are looking at a problem.

Pokémon: Algalisk
Mod of Origin: Branched Potential
Stats: 85/75/110/97/103/69
Type:

Abilities: Poison Touch / Poison Point / Adaptability
Movepool: Draglage's movepool (except Focus Blast) + Glare, Spikes, Synthesis
N/A
Description: Algalisk is basically just Dragalge but better, but Dragalge is a sick mon, so I like it. Algalisk takes a much more defensive approach to Dragalge, which is great because Poison/Dragon sports great resistances in Electric, Grass, Water, and Fire, plus a nice Fairy neutrality and immunity to Toxic. Plus, Algalisk has a much more balanced distribution of bulk with 85/110/105 bulk, allowing it to stand up to moves on both sides of the spectrum much better. With this and some recovery in Synthesis and utility in Glare, Algalisk can be a great offensive pivot, defensive pivot, or hazard setter. It's a bit slow and being weak to Ground sucks, tho.
Beats: Kokovoir, Machamp-Mega (barring EQ), Magroach, Pincurchin, Slowcone
Can't switch into but Beats after: Shaymin, Heatmor
Loses to: Chillyte, Machamp-India, Melmetal, Mytheon, Sandaconda

Mod of Origin: Break This Team
Stats: 80/61/80/111/80/111
Type:

Abilities: Sturdy / Clear Body / Neutralizing Gas
Movepool: Movepool
N/A
Description: Jewelode has offensive NGas, which is pretty sick, and pretty much all the tools you need to be a great fast offensive pivot, including a decent offensive typing, Taunt, U-Turn, Healing Wish, and Encore. A great choice for a Scarfer or HBD wielder, though keep in mind that its coverage is pretty bad and it only okay bulk, so some mons can still shred it without their abilities.
Beats: Cummulus, Heatmor, Magroach
Can't switch into but Beats after: Mytheon, Grimmsnarl-Alola
Loses to: Melmetal, Sandaconda, Shaymin, Cofazor

Ability: Teravolt

A setup wallbreaker with access to the only good physical Rock type move, Diamond Storm. The defensive stat is a drawback, but it's in a relatively good speed tier. It can also recover off Brave Birds and has great special bulk. Combine this with Spirit Break and recovery and it'll be really hard to KO specially.

- Bounce, Thunder Fang, Ice Fang, Psychic Fang, Snap Trap, Crunch, Lock Jaw, Sucker Punch, Aqua Tail, Waterfall, Earthquake, Wild Charge
- Scald, Whirlpool, Volt Switch
- Swords Dance, Thunder Wave, Substitute, Agility, Curse, Haze
Movepool = Lantern’s movepool + Bite, Crunch, Ice Fang, Thunder Fang, Psychic Fang, Snap Trap, Haze, Swords Dance, Lock Jaw, Earthquake. Toxic is removed.

  • Illuminate: This Pokémon take half damage from Ghost and Dark-type attacks.
  • Earthquake: 20% recoil damage is dealt to the user.
  • Wild Charge: BP is now 100. Recoil damage is now 20%.
  • Aqua Tail: BP is now 100. 30% chance of lowering target’s Speed by one stage.
  • Hidden Power: Become physical if user’s Attack is higher. BP become 80 if user doesn’t hold any item.

Abyssylar is a set-up wallbreaker that can either tank BoltBeam coverage with Volt Absorb, tank Ghost-type and Dark-type moves with Illuminate, or boost moves like Thunder Fang, Crunch / Lock Jaw and Psychic Fang for increased coverage. Hidden Power is now physical if user’s Attack is higher, allowing it to provide emergency coverage such as HP Grass if really needed.

Despite the low BST, Shiinotic has solid physical bulk, and even solid special bulk when paired with Sandaconda for Sand. It does stanard shiinotic stuff such as using strength sap and spore. Description: Unlike kantonian venomoth, unovan venomoth is a dragon dancer. While it lacks the extreme power of tinted lens, it makes up for it with the ability to hold eviolite or everstone. A defensive set is even possible thanks to eviolite + marvel scale/intimidate & venomoth's suprisingly good support movepool.

Pokemon: Lanturn-Mega (base unchanged besides movepool)
Mod of Origin: Megas For All V7
Stats: 125/68/73/111/116/67 (BST: 560)
Typing:

Ability: Alluring*
Movepool:
+Recover
Custom Elements: Alluring- While the user is active, the pivoting effect of opponents pivoting moves is removed.
Description: I honestly think base lanturn with reliable recovery could be good, considering it has 2 type immunity abilities and decent (?) special bulk. Lanturn-Mega is a massive Special Wall and defensive pivot, that also functions as an a pivot deterrer thanks to its ability. one of the most important features of this ability is that it prevents sandaconda from form changing (i think?), but lanturn still has to take a super effective hit to block it.

Spent way too long listing out Carbunne's customs but now that that's finally over with I can finally start spending way too long on a review instead!

Mygavolt:
:leppa-berry: Ringo Ando (Crossover Chaos)
I'm surprised you didn't mention Wide Lens at all in the sub, having a reliable Puyo Pop single-handedly takes this mon from a 5/10 to a solid 9. Very cool special tank, reminds me of Water Vellumental in the best way.

ViZar:
:flygon: Flygalge (Fusion Evolution UU)
A great tank that is simultaneously very bulky, very scary offensively, and not broken, largely thanks to Adapt being the source of its damage output. Fun in FEUU, should be fun here too.

:diancie-mega: Diachess (Mega Revolution)
I hate delayed damage moves but if I didn't I think I'd like this mon, seems well-balanced.

zxgzxg:
:rotom-wash: Rotom-Wash (Pokemon North & South)
Honestly, the Ground immunity is really what makes Rotom-W Rotom-W, so while Quick Fix is clearly the better ability, I don't really vibe with it. Solid pseudo-Regen mon tho.

:diancie: Nympheral (Stereotypes)
Very weird mon, its speed tier + boosting and snowball potential scares me.

Deviation395:
:castform-rainy: Castform-Thunderstorm (Alternatium)
This one’s great, Sharpshooter’s cool but I think Levitate’s where it’s at. Feels like a more offensively-geared Rotom-Wash, which is already a mon I like quite a bit.

Regic Boat:
:unknown: Shockral (Boatmod)
Insanely strong physical wall with Sap + Barbs. In addition to being a lot for the meta it’s pretty similar to Pincurchin.

:corsola: Corsola (Alternatium)
Just a strong bulky attacker with recovery, I like this one.

:eternatus: Eternatus (Alternatium)
This mon seems VERY strong, though with how high our speed tiers already are it wouldn’t feel super out of place. Still a bit much imo.

Cookie Butter:
:jolteon: Joltlord (Fusion Evolution V6)
This is one of those mon pairings you’d never think would make a good fusion yet works perfectly, I love the balance of offence and utility here.

:crobat: Altarbat (Fusion Evolution V6)
I feel like Flygalge does the “generalist Poison/Dragon” in a more interesting way but this one’s solid too, its speed tier can definitely set it apart from other bulky mons.

G-Luke:
:tyrantrum: Tyranette-Eternal (Fusion Evolution UU)
Demonic breaker that spams a 140/150bp no-drawback STAB move whenever it comes in. Objectively very good, but not really my style.

:slowking: Slowking (Alternatium)
Great special wall and specially defensive pivot, which is something we don’t really have rn. Good pick for the meta.

:venomoth: Venoraptor (Regional Evolutions)
Idk about this one, it’s not as fat as dnite but its better typing + speed tier + toxic immunity make its DD + Roost sets seem hellish to play against. At least it can’t really touch steels.

Bobsican:
:feebas: Sharm (Restrictions)
Another strong SpDef pivot, Unaware makes this one stand out from the others. No Guard sets are also super funny but only good as a lure, at least in its home mod.

:diancie: Crystelf (Restrictions)
I’ve only ever seen this used as a suicide lead in Restrictions lol, though its Meteor Beam sets might stand more of a chance here if we don’t introduce much competition.

Yoshiblaze:
:dragalge: Algalisk (Branched Potential)
Feels like Flygalge’s more utility-geared cousin, which I actually like more than Fly here because we could use some more bulk in the mod. It sucks that Synthesis is its only recovery though, there will definitely be games where it wishes it had an extra 8pp on that.

:carbink: Jewelode (Break This Team)
I adore this mon in BTT and I adore it in Melee, so even though it does exist in Melee I think I’m going to support it here anyways, there aren’t many mons like it going around.

Yak Attack:
:kecleon: Monthly Iguana (Randommons)
A physical attacker with mediocre physical attack but high speed and incredible special bulk. It’s not bad though, since its movepool carries it hard; SD, Morning Sun, Diamond Storm, and V-Create are all great on it. Certified weirdmon but I like it.

Samtendo09:
:lanturn: Abyssylar (MonoThreat ReBalanced)
I like Strong Jaw Electrics, having a physical STAB that doesn’t kill you is really nice. Just generally a cool bulky attacker/pivot.

Squawkerz:
:shiinotic: Shiinotic (Random Pool 0)
I still haven’t let go of the dream of terrain wars in this meta, so of course I’m down for the Misty Terrain abuser. Even without terrain, though, this is a great mon for its physical bulk combined with Strength Sap, Effect Spore, and normal Spore, balanced out by a not-so-great defensive typing.

:venomoth: Venomoth-Unova (Regional Evolutions)
It’s like Venoraptor but instead of Multiscale it’s stronger off of the bat, and I like that better. Should be a great abuser of both Eviolite and Everstone, depending on if you want a bulkier Roost + DD set or a purely-offensive DD.

:lanturn: Lanturn (Megas for All V7)
Another specially defensive Water/Electric, now as a mega. You don’t see many people use their mega slot for a defensive mon outside of Stall, but this one’s strong enough that it’s probably worthwhile, especially thanks to its pivoting ability.
