In RBY, if you inflict a stat debuff or buff a stat while a Pokemon is paralyzed or burned, the major status stat debuff will be reapplied. This mechanic is a staple in RBY gameplay and is even part of what makes Slowbro a viable pick in OU. For more information, this mechanics guide is extremely helpful.
However, PS tracks stat changes extremely poorly in RBY, only updating tooltips if you've taken the status or boosted. It doesn't follow stat reapplication at all. Ergo, you could even call the tooltips misleading. This is pretty annoying at times, as it can be a nightmare to keep track of on the fly. I'll say this: it's very, very common to see stat reapplication during gameplay. Like, most Alakazam interactions alone will likely have this occur. The lack of stat reapplication in the RBY sim's tooltips only serves to make the generation less accessible. I'm sure some new players don't even know it exists, despite how important it is.
I would like to see this amended and made more clear during battle. It would be an incredible quality of life change.
EDIT 27/10/21:
I want to emphasise that there are many, many alleged RBY bugs that aren't actually bugs, but people being misled by this exact problem. This especially applies over multiple turns and switches, where people just completely lose track and end up false flagging bugs left and right. I feel as though with the spike in users, this is only going to grow, and spending like half an hour examining the battle log every time someone goes "why was I outsped here" is pretty tiresome.
