Surviving Sand-Brightpowder Garchomp...(Warstory)

Well, another warstory I guess.

This isn't really as close as some of my other warstories, but it still proves nothing is impossible. I was Ladderring on the Shoddy server as usual, then I got into one of the funniest, best and weirdest matches of my life.

Notes:

Standard OU battle, with all the needed clauses.
All Pokèmon are level 100.
This was on Shoddy.
Don't laugh when you see my team. (lol)
Starting here, my Opponent will be reffered too as Opponent.
Leftovers, Sand Damage and Sandstorm has been ommitted after first being mentioned.

My Team:

Opponent sent out Tyranitar.
Blade_475 sent out Smeargle
Tyranitar's Sand Stream whipped up a sandstorm!
A sandstorm brewed!
Smeargle used Spore.
Tyranitar fell asleep!
Tyranitar is fast asleep!

I lead with my Spore-Trick-Spikes-Endeavor-Scarf Smeargle, and my opponent leads with T-Tar. Since T-tar can either Sub or Attack, I decide to Spore it then switch out to be safe.

Opponent switched in Garchomp.
Blade_475 switched in Infernape.

Expected from a Sand Team. x_x

Blade_475 switched in Donphan.
Garchomp used Earthquake.
Donphan lost 33% of its health.
Donphan's leftovers restored its health a little!

Fearing Choice Scarf, I switch in too my only Chomp Counter, Donphan.

Garchomp used Swords Dance.
Garchomp's attack was sharply raised.
Donphan used Stealth Rock.
Pointed stones float in the air around your foe's team!

This Donphan is running Counter over Ice Shard, and should easily survive an SDed anything with max Def and HP +Impish. I SR for lack of anything else too use.

Garchomp used Swords Dance.
Garchomp's attack was sharply raised.
Donphan used Counter.
But it failed!

As soon as I saw this, I had a pretty good feeling I was going too lose, yet for some odd reason, I didn't quit. Oh well, lets see how it plays out.

Garchomp used Swords Dance.
Garchomp's attack was sharply raised.
Donphan used Counter.
But it failed!

I'm thinking it could have survived an EQ but not an Outrage. Oh well, gg, though a 6-0 is anything but close.

Opponent: bye
Blade_475: bye
Garchomp used Outrage.
Garchomp went on a rampage!
Donphan lost 92% of its health.
Blade_475's Donphan fainted.

My Opponent then prepares to sweep me and lands first blood.
6-5, Opponent

Blade_475 switched in Jirachi.
Garchomp used Outrage.
It's not very effective...
Jirachi lost 91% of its health.
Jirachi used Zen Headbutt.
Jirachi's attack missed!
Garchomp's rampage ended.
Garchomp became confused!
Jirachi's leftovers restored its health a little!

Fearing Yache Berry, I switch too Jirachi who can take one Outrage and at least weaken it enough with Zen Headbutt for Ape too finish off. Too bad, this one's a BrightPowderChomp. :(

Garchomp is confused!
Garchomp used Earthquake.
It's super effective!
Jirachi lost 15% of its health.
Blade_475's Jirachi fainted.

50% is even, but a little hax would have really helped here. Infernape is now my only shot at a comeback but with Sand Veil and brightpowder, I don't like my chances.
6-4, Opponent

Blade_475 switched in Infernape.
Infernape used Hidden Power.
Infernape's attack missed!
Garchomp is confused!
It hurt itself in its confusion!
Garchomp lost 55% of its health.

Heh. Hax helps me a bit, and I should hit it with HP Ice next turn. (Even if it switches out, Ape has many other options for hitting that switch-in. Probably a Steel Type)

Infernape used Hidden Power.
Infernape's attack missed!
Garchomp is confused!
It hurt itself in its confusion!
Garchomp lost 45% of its health.
Opponent's Garchomp fainted.

Well, this is where the momentum of the battle starts turning. With Garchomp gone, I thik Ape can handle anything that comes in.
5-4, Opponent

Opponent switched in Tyranitar.
Tyranitar's Sand Stream whipped up a sandstorm!
Pointed stones dug into Tyranitar.
Tyranitar lost 12% of its health.
Infernape used Close Combat.
It's super effective!
Tyranitar lost 88% of its health.
Opponent's Tyranitar fainted.
Infernape's defence was lowered.
Infernape's special defence was lowered.
The Chople Berry weakened Close Combat's power!
Infernape lost 10% of its health.

I just attacked with CC, not predicting at all. After all, it IS asleep. Surprisingly, I OHKO Tyranitar even with its Chople Berry. Infernape will be able to handle any Ground type or Rock type that switches in, I just worry about some Sturdy Steel type like Metagross.
4-4, Tied

Opponent switched in Metagross.
Pointed stones dug into Metagross.
Metagross lost 6% of its health.
Blade_475 switched in Scizor.
Metagross used Earthquake.
Metal Bug lost 26% of its health.
The sandstorm rages.
Metagross's leftovers restored its health a little!
Scizor's leftovers restored its health a little!

Exactly what I feared. I'm fearing Scarf as Ape is my only real offensive threat. I switch in Scizor, my last defensive Pokemon and try to take a light hit. Knowing nothing Metagross has can hurt me, I remember I still have one shot at killing the (possibly) remaining walls left.

Metagross used Agility.
Metagross's speed was sharply raised.
Scizor used Agility.
Scizor's speed was sharply raised.

AgiliGross. I guess this helps me, as I'm running SD and Baton Pass too, meaning Scizor will take the hit and make sure it BPs safely. My only risk is a random crit or an Attack raise in Meteor Mash.

Metagross used Earthquake.
Scizor lost 28% of its health.
Scizor used Swords Dance.
Scizor's attack was sharply raised.

Metagross used Earthquake.
Scizor lost 30% of its health.
Scizor used Swords Dance.
Scizor's attack was sharply raised.

I SD the following 2 turns, as something like Celebi or Forretress, Bibarel won't OHKO. Barring a Crit, the pass should go as according to plan...

Metagross used Earthquake.
Scizor lost 30% of its health.
Scizor used Baton Pass.
Blade_475 switched in Bibarel.
Bibarel's leftovers restored its health a little!

With just 2% HP left, Scizor makes the much needed pass. Prepare for OWNAGE. Only thing that Bibarel is really scared of is Empoleon, and that I can still hit hard with Max Attack Return. (Simple, Bibarel's ability, doubles all stat boosts to it, whether good or bad.)

Blade_475: haha, too think I was going to lose
Bibarel used Waterfall.
Metagross lost 100% of its health.
Opponent's Metagross fainted.

Bibarel finally goes on a rampage. The Metal Thing goes down first. Right now, I'm sitting pretty. Only some random Scarfed Deoxys-S will ruin this sweep.
4-3, Me

Opponent switched in Skarmory.
Pointed stones dug into Skarmory.
Skarmory lost 12% of its health.

Uh-oh. I hope this isn't running Max HP or Defense. Will Bibarel OHKO it? I'm pretty sure, it can with Max Attack, but just too be safe...

Bibarel used Taunt.
Skarmory fell for the taunt!
Skarmory used Roar.
Skarmory can't use Roar after the taunt!
Skarmory's leftovers restored its health a little!

I screw over my opponent's last chance at winning. Taunt Bibarel is like some fake-Gyara if you look at it. I should hit anything not with a 4x Water resist (lol@ Ludicolo on a Sand Team) really hard.

Opponent switched in Cradily.
Pointed stones dug into Cradily.
Cradily lost 12% of its health.
Bibarel used Waterfall.
A critical hit!
Cradily lost 87% of its health.
Opponent's Cradily fainted.

This CH didn't matter at all. Even if it did 2HKO, the Cradily was helpless and could not do anything. Victim #2 of the mad Beaver's rampage.
4-2, Me

Opponent switched in Skarmory.
Pointed stones dug into Skarmory.
Skarmory lost 12% of its health.
Blade_475: 2HKO, so crit wasnt needed
Bibarel used Taunt.
Skarmory fell for the taunt!
Skarmory used Roar.
Skarmory can't use Roar after the taunt!

I just use the same tactic all over again. He could have attacked me if he wanted, but only a CH Brave Bird with some Attack EVs could OHKO Bibarel. GG I guess.

Bibarel used Waterfall.
Skarmory lost 87% of its health.
Opponent's Skarmory fainted.

The Metal Bird is luck Victim #3. Bibarel is really a win it all or get 6-0ed type of Pokemon. I really am impressed, and me using it since the start of August should really boos its usage. :p
4-1, Me

Opponent switched in Aerodactyl.
Pointed stones dug into Aerodactyl.
Aerodactyl lost 25% of its health.
Bibarel used Waterfall.
It's super effective!
A critical hit!
Aerodactyl lost 75% of its health.
Opponent's Aerodactyl fainted.
Blade_475 wins!

xD at the random hax. GG indeed ad a rampaging Garchomp is something not many people live to tell the tale.
Blade_475: gg
Opponent has left the room.

Props:
Me, for not quitting even though I could have been Owned by a rampaging Dragon.
Opponent, for not quitting the match even though he was getting Owned by a Beaver.
Jirachi, for making that crucial point in the game, for if it were OHKOed, it would have been the opponent sweeping me.
Smeargle for sleeping the T-tar that could have killed Infernape.
Scizor for being so helpful and taking Metagross' hits like man and BPing to Bibarel.
Bibarel for pure ownage.

Slops:

Myself for getting set-up on so easily. My lack of an adequate Garchomp counter (if there are any) and almost losing 6-0.
Donphan, for not doing anything remotely useful and being set-up fodder.
Garchomp, for being a pain in the ass. I'm glad Suspect Test was made.

lol, I can see the witty humour, made me laugh. Thanks for the positive feedback.

Also, too anyone who's going to post about the Warstory not being close enough, it really wasnt supposed to be a close one. More like, showing everyone that [sarcasm]YOU SHOULD NEVER GIVE UP[/sarcasm] Look at Ash after all. He always wins. xD

uhh, 4-0 isn't very close, and warstories are supposed to be close.

You got lucky with confusion hitting twice, infernape can't KO yache chomp with HP(ice)

Also lucky that metagross rolled low against scizor.

It was still fun to see a bibarel sweep though.

yeah, I know DFA, Simple Bibarel owns.

billy, as I mentioned, this Warstory isn't close. I was trying to emphasize on being able too kill a Brightpowder Chomp. I mean, if it was a Yache one, HP Ice shouldnt miss that much. Even if it was, after it hit itself with confusion on the first turn, HP Ice would have koed on the second.

How is Metagross hitting Scizor for low damage lucky? Scizor just had a lot of HP and Def EVs.

I guess I laughed a bit at the bibarel sweep, but really the battle was meh and the comments didn't do a good job of turning it from meh to good, which is what you gotta do on these types of battles.

Opponent made a huge mistake with Garchomp.

I'm pretty sure a +6 Earthquake would have OHKO'd Donphan, without locking him into Outrage and confusing him. After that it would have been 6-0.

Yeah I couldn't really enjoy this match very much because of this. It would have almost surely been a clean 6-0 sweep if your opponent had Earthquaked Donphan instead of getting locked into Outrage so early. I guess the Bibarel sweep at the end made up for it a little though.

Normally, I would have probably not have liked the warstory because of the large win margin, but the Bibarel sweep was so cool that I like it a lot.
