Moving forward, all players will only be allowed one alt per cycle. Hence, editing your signup post with a new alt is against the rules. Furthermore, if you have been caught cheating (eg: using alts to boost your elo), your (Smogon) account will be disqualified from the tour and you may be subject to other punishments. Once you make the top 8 and qualify (this does not mean making the top 8 at any given point during the cycle, it means being in the top 8 at the end of the cycle), you’re qualified for playoffs. You are free to ladder any other week you wish. However, making the top 8 more than once won’t give a player anything other than personal satisfaction and bragging rights. If a person qualifies again during the cycle after their initial qualification, the newly qualified account will be skipped and the next unqualified account will be selected from the leaderboard to participate in the tournament.

After some discussion amongst the hosts (and the shadowhost), the "second cycle" will be split into another two cycles, each lasting one week and will only qualify the top 4 per week. The new prefix will be announced slightly before each cycle starts - Cycle 2 will start on the 5th of February, 4:00 am GMT+0 and end on the 12th, 4:00 am GMT+0, while Cycle 3 will start on the 13th, 4:00 am GMT+0 , and end on the 20th, 4:00 am GMT +0.

even though you qualified as a sub, if you make it into playoffs by qualifying as part of the top 4 in the next two cycles, you will be taken off the sub list.

Due to an error on my part, Cycle 2 will start in ~24h time (5 Feb, 4am +0). The prefix will be announced shortly before Cycle 2 starts. As a reminder, Cycle(s) 2 (and 3) will last a week and only the top 4 will qualify!​

Users are only allowed to register one account with the prefix, and laddering before signing up or before the cycle starts is an automatic disqualification moving forward. If your account reaches suspect requirements before the Gouging Fire suspect ends, your AAALT account can be used to qualify for voting!
