Project SV DOU Teambuilding Competition v3: Week 27 (Gouging fire)

Congratulations to Actuarily for winning!

:sv/primarina:

This weeks Pokemon is Primarina.

Primarina, while more niche can leverage it's high special attack along with it's ability liquid voice which gives Primarina STAB on Hyper Voice to become an effective Calm Mind sweeper.

Building ends on Friday 30th

Intead of going with a more standart trickroom or balance team I thought a pledge team could be funny, I attached a video where I make the team and play a few games with it:
Because primarina is a (opera) singer I thought I would go with opera/wagner nicknames or to be more specific Der Ring nicknames.

Hope you enjoy the team :)

Assembling something real quick for a bit more competition.
Not gonna lie Primarina is bad and only usable on teams with screens or sand.
I wanted to try something new than the six Pokemon people have been using in tours, aka Primarina Excadrill Tornadus Tyranitar Ogerpon-Hearthflame Kommo-o.

:primarina::houndstone::tyranitar::tornadus::ogerpon-hearthflame::kommo-o:

To make Primarina not Ass, I put an Assault Vest on it, meaning it is now good decent into Kyurem, Landorus and Raging Bolt.
Initially I was considering Flip Turn on it to activate the Weakness Policy of Tyranitar but scratched it because being weak to Water Cudgel is bad. It now has Weather Ball, meaning it is now good into the Volcanion of Actu... that random guy on ladder who runs Volcanion.
Kommo-o runs Flash Cannon since adding Houndstone over Excadrill makes the snow matchup worse.
Houndstone outspeeds Dragapult in sand.
Tornadus lives Tera Water Ivy Cudgel from Metapon with that spread. It's Sitrus Berry and not Focus Sash because Focus Sash is bad with sand.

I won a roomtour with it :
vs Frania
vs Gigapichu
vs emforbes

congrats to sir jelloton for winning!

:sv/volcarona:

This weeks Pokemon is Volcarona. While not often seen, Volcarona is a rather versatile pokemon, able to be both a set up sweeper with quiver dance, and fill a support role on a team with access to tailwind, will-o-wisp and the combination of flame body + rage powder.

Building ends on Friday 6th

Wanted to build something around screens + grassy seed Quiver Dance Volcarona, as you can increase your odds of getting off two QD’s and then likely winning (unless against priority spam). The Rilla/Lando-t/Grimmsnarl core goes well with Volcarona, to set screens & grassy terrain, pivot into it, and lower opponents stats. The idea behind Gholdengo as a second set up option is that Gholdengo does well into teams Volcarona struggles into, namely hazard stack or teams centered around Diancie.

In the final slot I really wanted something with psych up that could compliment the two set up sweepers. Originally I had psych up Primarina, but then realized I really struggled to hit Volcanion, and considered AV Iron Hands, but then that made my already tough matchup into Landorus worse. Eventually I decided between Rotom-Wash and Latios, and decided on Latios for having both the tailwind & psych up benefits. I do think any of AV Iron Hands/Rotom Wash/Latios could work though.
