Hi everyone!

Thank you so much for all the interest in the section and with QC applications. OU C&C will be back in the new year following the Tera suspect result and any further tiering action after that. We will be using a smaller preview/mini analysis format, the same as the one used for early Generation 8, so choosing to contribute and write will be easy and accessible for anyone with an interest in writing. If you have any questions, feel free to PM the OU C&C mods or ask in the analyses channel of the OU discord.

Sorry for the delay we were getting things together as the meta settled from the suspect and working some things out with the C&C team. Currently, the second slate of mons is available to be reserved, and lastly, chimp is now mod to overlook the section as well.
 
Usage stats can be a good way to get a feel for the Pokemon you’re writing about, how commmon moves/items/terms are on ladder and in tours, and what the most common teammates are. These definitely shouldn’t be the only reference - high ladder and tour stats can be skewed, but these stats can help fill in some gaps especially for the second paragraph.

How to access ladder stats
  1. Go to https://www.smogon.com/stats/
  2. Scroll right down to the bottom to find the current month
  3. Click on movesets/ in that current month
  4. Search for ou 1695 and 1825 stats - both are useful in their own ways. 1825 stats provide a higher ladder look but have a much smaller sample size so they can be influenced by trends more easily. 1695 stats provide a larger sample size with a lower ceiling
How to access tournament stats:
  1. Go to https://www.smogon.com/forums/forums/tournaments.34/
  2. Click on the subforum where a current gen tour is ongoing / has just ended. For now (December 2024), we can use SCL, but in a month or two we can use SPL later round OST
  3. Find the usage statistics thread in the subforum you want
  4. The first post is cumulative stats so use that - this is much more useful than weekly unless there’s a ban
  5. Above the table of usage, click on moves + teammates, which will take you to a google doc that shows a more in depth view similar to ladder moveset stats
