Towards the end of the SV SU Winter Seasonal, Tera Blast was banned by OU, changing the landscape of SV SU on top of the tier shifts that already came at the beginning of April. With a fresh metagame and the third anniversary of SV SU as a format, there's no better time than the present to have another forum tour! Please reach out to me if you have further questions.

Specific Rules:

• This is a standard SV SU (Generation 9) tournament
  • All bans from higher tiers (Tera Blast, Light Clay, Heat Rock, etc.) are transitive to SV SU.
  • Pokemon tiered as ZU: Basculin, Brute Bonnet, Charizard, Clawitzer, Drifblim, Farigiraf, Froslass, Gurdurr, Hitmontop, Houndoom, Jolteon, Lycanroc, Magneton, Malamar, Medicham, Mesprit, Minior, Muk, Orthworm, Regirock, Sableye, Sandslash, Skuntank, Sneasel, Sneasel-Hisui, Spiritomb, Typhlosion, Venusaur, Vikavolt, Weezing, Whimsicott, Whiscash
  • Pokemon tiered as SUBL: Beartic, Primeape, Tauros-Paldea-Combat, Virizion
• Matches are to be played on PS! or Smogtours. Do not submit matches from different servers.
• The tournament format is swiss, with a bo3 between players each round
• If metagame changes occur during the middle of a round, they will take effect in the subsequent round.
• Replays will be required for ALL rounds!

Swiss Rules:

• There will be an amount of rounds proportional to how many players sign up equal to how many rounds it would take for a single player to be undefeated. For example, we will have 6 rounds for 64 players, 7 for 128, and 8 for 256.
• For each round, you will be matched up with someone that has the same record as you in the tournament. For example, if you are 2-1, you will be matched up against someone with the same rating as you.
• As soon as you hit 3 losses (X-3), you are eliminated from the tournament entirely. This is done to avoid the issues of high drop rate and burnout.
• Once all rounds are done, everyone with 2 or less losses will be added to a single elimination bracket (Top Cut), where they will be first seeded by record, then strength of opponent. If there are not enough players to make a complete bracket, byes will be given to the highest seed players. This will continue until there is 1 person remaining, which will be the winner.

Tournament Rules:

• General tournament rules and regulations can be found here.
• Do not make baseless activity posts, get in contact with your opponent and report missed times / scheduling issues only.
• All the usual Smogon rules regarding activity, timer, disconnection, and ghosting rules apply.
• Species Clause: A player cannot have two Pokemon with the same Pokedex number on their team.
• Evasion Clause: The moves Double Team and Minimize are banned.
• OHKO Clause: The moves Horn Drill, Guillotine, Sheer Cold, and Fissure are banned.
• Endless Battle Clause: Anything capable of intentionally creating an endless battle is banned.
