Swampert legality question

I traded for a Swampert on the GTS. When I got it, it said that it was from a "Distant Land" and it was caught in a Master Ball. Is it legal or hacked?
 
Possibly legit.
Distant Lands are typically GCN pokemon.
dont worry, my Lugia was caught in a Masterball, and its 100% legit, because I wanted to make sure I got that thing.
 
It's hacked. Distant lands mean the pokemon is from the Orre region and catching a Mudkip, Marshtomp, or Swampert from the GC games is impossible.

Shouldn't this be in ask a simple question topic?

Yes, it would have been easy, if there actually WERE Mudkips to catch. As I said, the only starters obtainable on the Cube games are the GSC ones, and the first-form ones were given to you. So any Cyndaquil, Chikorita, Totodile or ANY other generation starters in a ball other than a Poke Ball are hacked.

I had a feeling it was hacked because I knew that the GSC starters were catchable, but I wasn't sure if any other starter was (since I've never played any of the GC games).

On the plus side, I was able to trade away a pokemon that I didn't really need...
 
The RSE starters are not obtainable through the GC games at all. The only way to get a Swampert is by breeding which means it will always be in a pokeball anyway. Whoever hacked this had no idea what he was doing.
 
Meh, there are better LEGIT swamperts here are Smogon. Like mine . . .

Pokemon that are catchable in Colosseum do have business being in a Master Ball, for the record. There was an easily exploitable glitch in that game that allowed one to use Pokeballs without losing it. I've taken advantage of this glitch myself numerous times. It's a lot of fun when you get the Master Ball. But since you get the MB late in the game, there are only a few Pokemon that can be caught with it.

Actually, come to think of it, since Colosseum gave second chances to catch each of the Pokemon, you could theoretically catch every Pokemon in the game with a Master Ball.

But yeah, you can't get Swampert in Colosseum or XD.
