Weavile @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Pressure
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Triple Axel
- Knock Off
- Ice Shard
In the light of Roaring Moon's departure, Weavile re-establishes its place in OU as a knockoff replacement! use a different initial line, it was already pretty good pre ban and its used on balance teams that wouldn't use Roaring Moon. Combined with Swords Dance, Triple Axel and Knock Off help Weavile pressure the opposing team, with Triple Axel threatening Pokemon like Gliscor, Dragonite, and Great Tusk, while Knock Off cripples somewhat gp but "cripples threats ... directly or through item removal" uses crippling to mean koing, which is kinda right but use something over cripples imo. threats like Gholdengo and Moltres, either directly or through item removal. Tera Ghost allows Weavile to phase through otherwise pesky Fighting-types and attacks from the likes of Zamazenta and Corviknight grants an espeed immunity as well, while Heavy-Duty Boots protects Weavile from entry hazards, especially Stealth Rock dex info, elaborate on how it allows weavile to be really good on spikes stack because it doesn't need hazard removal to function at its long hit and run gameplan, or remove it if you have too many characters.. Weavile pickpockets many of Roaring Moon's former teammates, especially working well with Dragonite and Pecharunt Weavile is mainly good on spikes balances with mons like Ting-Lu, which Roaring Moon doesn't fit on. Add Ting-Lu and remove Dragonite if you need for character count. Together, Dragonite and Weavile overwhelm shared checks like Corviknight and Alomomola, while Pecharunt scares threats that Weavile struggles against, such as Zamazenta and Primarina. Pecharunt is a pivot + spinblocker for weavile and it loses to a lot of primarina sets, all primarina sets if tera is involved.
