Switch, Switch, Switch

After a couple of months playing mostly rain stall teams i finaly tried a balanced team, and i wasnt dissapointed. The fact that you dont have to care about having your weather up anymore adds a whole new feeling to the game. However, not having a weather of my own implies that my opponent doesnt need to worry about it either and that he always gets whatever weather he wants. I therefore made a team that isnt relying on weather at all, but one that still can be threatening and take advantage of the weather of my opponent. When making this team i had in mind all off the pokemons weaknesses and i tried to cover those weaknesses up in the other pokemon on my team. That lead to a very strong team defensive wise, as long as all of my pokemon are still alive. As each poke on my team dies my team becomes weaker and weaker, therefore it is very important to keep all off my pokemon alive as long as possible.

Rotom-W @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Trick

Rotom, together with scizor, is the core offensive of this team. I usually lead with Rotom and volt switch out to get switch advantage. He is also good at stoping my opponent from setting up entry hazards with trick and really cripples walls that would otherwive be a problem. I run rotom with hp ice as i needed a pokemon able to revenge kill +1 dnite and scarfed salamence that would usualy wreck my team otherwise. Rotom can take a variety of attacks and he can easly switch in on threats sutch as gliscor and heatran.

Scizor @ Choice Band
Trait: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- U-turn
- Bullet Punch
- Pursuit
- Superpower

Yet another pokemon I added to my team to keep the offencive momentum up. His basic duties are: Switch in, forcing opponent to switch out, and then use U-turn, doing some nice damage in the proces. Checkmate choiced latios, gangar w/o disable, with pursuit. Revenge kill any squishy pokemon that are under 40% with bullet punch. Aside from his offensive abilities he also resists a large portion of the meta and he can easly tank 2-3 banded outrages from haxorus.

Gengar_by_Leliea.png

Gengar @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Substitute
- Disable
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast

Gengar is on my team to take care of the fighting attacks aimed at ferrothorn. I run the sub+disable as it shuts down all choiced pokes that it can outspeed and i find gengar taking care of whole teams on his own from time to time. Focus blast does alot of damage to walls that people usually send in on it (skarm, ferro, heatran) and can sometimes get that lucky crit on the switch and 0HKO them, however, it misses more often than not so shadowball is more reliable on any pokemon that does not resist it. Gengar also counters the most annoying pokemon in the meta atm (Breloom).

Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 148 Def / 108 SDef
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Leech Seed
- Gyro Ball
- Power Whip
- Stealth Rock

Ferrothorn acts as a semi-support on my team. He sets up rocks, KOs certain water types and does ridiculous damage to fast pokemon with gyro ball. He also heals teammates from time to time. He tanks all outrages / choised dracos with ease and is therefore very important to keep alive.

jellicent_by_snook_8-d46aifb.png

Jellicent @ Leftovers
Trait: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 36 Def / 220 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Will-O-Wisp
- Taunt
- Scald
- Recover

The definition of annoyance. I chose jellicent as the second tank because he takes care of what ferro doesnt, in particular fire moves and fighting type moves. I usually switch this in when i know my opponent cannot hurt it. He then switches into something more suited for the job wich gives me a free burn on someone.

Dragonite @ Lum Berry
Trait: Multiscale
EVs: 64 HP / 252 Atk / 192 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Fire Punch
- Outrage
- ExtremeSpeed

D-nite is the Hidden Ace on this team. As long as he is alive i still have a chance to win. I usualy save him for lategame but he is not a "lategame sweeper" as sometimes i use him to weaken my opponent early instead. The tactic with d-nite is to wait for the exact right moment when you can switch in and get a free dd of. With only 1 dd he is able to wreack havoc on many teams and thanks to his ev spread is able to outspeed most of the unboosted meta. D-nite is also my backup revenge killer with x-speed if i for some reason cannot use scizor/rotom.

This team is all about snowballing. If I am able to kill 1-2 of my opponents pokes early im usually able to snowball and thanks to my tanks stay in control the rest of the match. The one weakness that my team has got is that it hasnt got a spinnner, however, because d-nite is the only one weak to rocks i decided i didnt need one. Also, jellicent is the only poke hurt by toxic spikes and half of my team doesnt get hit by the normal spikes.

I would really appreciate if you rated my team or gave me suggestions / changes to the team.

hey you got a nice team here but i would recommend Gliscor over Gengar. Gliscor outclasses Gengar in the role you are trying to have it fill on your team as it is a much better counter to fighting types in general. also it can scout choice users with protect.
Gliscor @ toxic orb
Impish
252hp/184Def/72spe
Earthquake
swords dance
ice fang
protect

Thank you, I will try it out =D

Hi, A standard scizor would be more reliable if your attempting to keep your team healthy as it can take more hits and roost set would be advised as well seeing that Dnite is your only set up mon. Also in opinion gengar isn't doing much that jellicent already accomplishes. Mixed infernape would fit well adding a fire/fighting type the you need. Hope this helps some :)
