Symphony Of Destruction

Symphony Of Destruction

After testing with different teams, I've found this one as a simple but lovely team; This one has their own tricks and IMO a good synergy. This team is an offensive one, just playing with resistance in the defensive side, but always mantaining the offensive capabilities of all my team mates.

machamp.png

Machamp @Lum Berry
Trait: No Guard
Nature: Adamant
252 HP / 156 Atk / 96 SpD / 6 Spe
  • Substitute
  • DynamicPunch
  • Stone Edge
  • Foresight
Machamp is the prelude of this Symphony of Destruction. Since the first turn, he's able to smash opponents with Dynamic Punch and mess any strategy (ok...not ALL:pirate:). Substitute allows me to throw my attack with impunity, and at the same time to protect me from status or blows. Stone Edge covers Flyiers in some way and foresight is the key to fight those annoying Ghosts. The 6 ev's are to outspeed other Machamp though.

scizor.png

Scizor @Life Orb
Trait: Technician
Nature: Adamant
248 HP / 88 Atk / 172 Spe
  • Swords Dance
  • Bullet Punch
  • Brick Break
  • Baton Pass
Mid-Sweeper, Mid-Passer. Scizor is the most OverUsed pokemon in the metagame, but with this set, I tried to be a little bit "original" :pirate:. This thing is a huge treat after a single Sword Dance and Bullet Punch after a boost offers great damage. Brick Break is for standard coverage and rapes non-scarfed Magnezones. Baton Pass is the Scizor's secret plan, transfering the SD's boost to another of my beasts.

swampert.png

Swampert @Leftovers
Nature: Relaxed
252 HP / 252 Def / 6 SpAtk
  • Earthquake
  • Ice Beam
  • Stealth Rock
  • Toxic
The typical defensive-oriented Swampert. It offers to me some key resistances and the compulsory stealth rocks. The point here is Toxic; in conjunction with Sand Stream, stong walls falls in some turns, and also add some status damage who lacks in any other member of my team. Ice beam is for Grass/Dragons and Earthquake for STAB. This mate is the less offensive but an useful utility in my team.

tyranitar.png

Tyranitar @Life Orb
Nature: Hasty
116 Atk / 144 SpA / 248 Spe
  • Dragon Dance
  • Crunch
  • Hidden Power Grass
  • Fire Blast
Surprise! this is not the typical DD Tyranitar! Ok, this is not so treatening such the normal Dragon Dancer, but the element of surprise deals more damage aftewards. Sand Stream works in conjunction with the rest of my sweepers, adding an extra-damage. Crunch is the only STAB attack and the rest is to cripple the most counters: Scizor and Swampert, and also in some cases, Forretress and Skarmory.

infernape.png

Infernape @Life Orb
Nature: Naive
248 Atk / 196 Spe / 64 SpAtk
  • Close Combat
  • Fire Blast
  • Grass Knot
  • U-Turn
Infernape. Just Infernape. I don't remember where I took the Ev's spead, but it works. My mixed sweeper and sometimes a good Baton Pass receiver from Scizor. U-turn is the way this infernape flees from Starmie/Cresselia/Latias mantaining the synergy and dealing great damage. Sometimes a late-Sweeper, sometimes Mid-Sweeper. This is a complete pokemon, able to bring fear and devastation to the field xD.

gyarados.png

Gyrarados @Leftovers
Nature: Jolly!!!!!
84 HP / 252 Atk / 184 Spe
  • Dragon Dance
  • Waterfall
  • Earthquake
  • Stone Edge
The finisher. The last note of this Symphony of Destruction. Paired with scizor, a Sword Dance boost is always welcomed. Dragon Dance is just to outspeed and Waterfall + Earthquake + Stone Edge is a very good coverage (Celebi I hate you). I run Jolly because of Starmie and some other sluts. Gyarados also mantain the synergy adding key resistances.

so that's all. Please rate my team because I want to improve it adding all the necessary suggestions..Adios!

Problems:

CroCune
SD Lucario

How to fix:

Wow dude, this is a really excellent team you have here, very originial. I like the Foreseight on Machamp, theorymoning here it can scratch Rotom and help your team out in the long run. Well anyways, Crocune will be a problem in this team simply put, you have nothing to stop it. Now I have a way to lock it down, and simply replace Gyarados to a bulky Taunt version:

Gyarados
@ Leftovers
Adamant Nature (Atk+ / SpA-)
156 HP / 108 Atk / 100 Def / 144 Spe

- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Stone Edge
- Taunt

This guy here provides a way to defeat Crocune thanks to Taunt. In addition to this, after Scizor passes, sometimes you can't hit Celebi or Skarmory for the KO. Taunt really stops them from using Roar or Thunder Wave respectivaley. Grass Knot will 3HKO even with Rocks down and with SD + 1 DD you can KO it with Stone Edge. Waterfall is for STAB. But taunt is really there to ensure Crocune doesn't set up whatsoever.

Now to patch up with your issues with Lucario, I'd just recommend slapping Mach Punch for U-turn on Infernape. Lucario can set up infront of Tyranitar due to the fear of potential getting KOd. Otherwise I didnt want to suggest any new pokes cause it seems you have this on lock. gl with this team dude.

As for other options though, I'd give SpD Tyranitar a go for this team. Dragon Dance seems out of the blue, and Special defense helps checks special attacks from Latias and such. Give that a go.

Hi there,

This team looks like it is pretty solid at the moment. I just have a few changes I want to make.

First off- Machamp is an underrated lead in this metagame and has the potential to get your team some early momentum off the bat. To get this momentum, you will need to change Machamp's set just a little bit. Encore allows it to be one of the best anti leads in the game, either stopping leads right after they set up Stealth Rock, or giving your team an easy switch in if they choose to attack. This set takes a little prediction to use well, but I think if you test it a little bit and gain experience with the set, you will have great results. Here is the set:

Machamp @ Lum Berry
Adamant
No Guard
252 HP/160 Attack/96 Special Defense
19 Speed IV

Encore
Substitute
DynamicPunch
Stone Edge

The EVs allow you to take a Modest Azelf Psychic and encore it, which will give you a free KO with TTar (coming later), while still hitting very hard. The 19 Speed IV means Bronzong cannot break your Substitute with Gyro Ball. You will notice no Payback. However, I have a plan for taking out the ghosts that stand in Machamp's way, and Substitute + Encore will help you more than Foresight ever did.

Scizor- Unfortunatley, I want to make this a little more standard and use the CB Scizor. I have another plan to open up for Gyarados besides SD Passing, and the checking utility of CB Scizor cannot be ignored. This helps you out immensely in checking Dragons especially, as well as many other frail pokemon that cannot stand up to Scizor's 90 base power Bullet Punch coming off 591 attack. U Turn slowly weakens your opponent's team, and you are easily able to Pursuit away problematic Pokemon that are afraid of Scizor. SuperPower helps a lot with Curselax, but if you manage to catch a Heatran/Magnezone switch in, you have just given yourself a whole lot of breathing room. I'm sure you know it, but here is the set:

Scizor @ Choice Band
Adamant
Technician
248 HP/252 Attack/8 Speed

U Turn
Bullet Punch
SuperPower
Pursuit

Swampert- Good, except run Roar > Toxic. This will help you out immensely with a huge number of threats, such as Ninjask and Baton Pass teams and SubDD Kingdra. We have the offenses to bust through your opponent's core, so Toxic on Swampert is largely unneeded.

Tyranitar- Ok, this is the biggest thing I want to change. I really think a Choice Band Tyranitar would help you immensely here. Here's why: Cb Tyranitar can eliminate prominent counters and checks to DD Gyara, such as Celebi and ScarfRotom. CB Tar is also a monster against a standard Stall team, something that your team struggles against a little at the moment. This is also a very stable check to many Special threats that threaten your team otherwise. Here is the set I am thinking of:

Tyranitar @ Choice Band
Adamant
80 HP/248 Attack/176 Sp. Def./4 Speed

Pursuit
Crunch
Earthquake
Stone Edge

The Evs allow you to never be 2HKO'd by SpecsLatias Surf, which means you can Pursuit her away before she does even more damage to your team.

Ok, Infernape. I like this guy here. He lures in and KOs the Bulky Waters in Gyarados's way. However, I think we can drop U Turn, Why? We have two Pursuiters to hit Latias, U Turns main target, as well as another mass U Turn Scouter in Scizor. With two Pursuiters SD Lucario is going to have absolutely no trouble finding set up time against your team. Therefore, run Mach Punch over U Turn, as this means you always can kill SD Lucario and have a better check than the SR weak Gyarados, who can still be used in an emergency. Also run Overheat as your Fire-type move. With Infernape's hit and run nature using this set, Overheat should be STAB move of choice for the boost in power.

Finally, the main man, Gyarados. Once his counters are down thanks two your dual Pursuiters, you are free to sweep with Gyarados. I like this set, just dont run Jolly, run Adamant 252 Attack/4 Def/252 Speed. This makes it the pure powerful sweeper your team needs. Jolly allows you to outspeed base 130 pokemon after a DD, but they should not be alive when Gyara sets up. Aerodactyl is easily handled by Swampert, and Jolteon will be Pursuited by TTar. Therefore, Adamant is the better option. I like Leftovers because if you are forced to come out and check something (like an Infernape) you can recover off the damage taken and be ready to sweep late game. Also, Gyara's counters should be dead and the rest of the team weakened when Gyara is revealed, so you will not need the boost Life Orb provides, instead abusing the extra survivability of Leftovers.

Thats all I have, good luck with your team.
