Taking Shoddy By Storm

Yesterday, after much help from Calum, I greatly improved my Shoddy Battle team. (It was terrible before) As my quest to be the very best never, ceases, I want to let more people get a look at it.

Bronzong@ Leftovers
Relaxed
Levitate
252 Hp/ 86 Atk/ 80 Def/ 92 SpDef
-Gyro Ball
-Earthquake
-Hypnosis
-Stealth Rock
My new lead. Bronzong's job is to set up Stealth Rocks. 1HKOs alll Aerodactyl leads with Gyro Ball, and if the Taunt, they end up either dead or with 1 HP because of Focus Sash. Relaxed nature and 0 speed IVs take advantage of Gyro Ball, Bronzong has only 63 speed. Hypnosis when I'm stuck in a tough matchup and want to buy time for a switch in.

Gengar @ Life Orb
Timid
Levitate
6 HP/ 252 Spe/ 252 SpAtk
-Energy Ball
-Shadow Ball
-Thunderbolt
-Focus Blast
My special Sweeper. His MO is to kill everything in his way. Focus Blast takes care of Rock and Steel. Gengar switches in on Machamp who plan on using Dynamic Punch. Energy Ball because my team was severly lacking in a Swampert Defense.
dpmba212.png

Scizor@Expert Belt
Adamant
Technician
56 HP/ 252 Atk/ 200 Spe
-Swords Dance
-Brick Break
-U-Turn
-Bullet Punch
My Revenge Killer/Physical Sweeper. After a comrade dies, Scizor switches in and uses Bulet Punch. If the enemy isn't a fire type or suspected of packing fire, I use Swords Dance and go on a killing spree. U-Turn for scouting, Brick Break for steel types.

Electivire @ Expert Belt
Mild
Motor Drive
200 Atk/ 108 Spe/ 200 SpAtk
-Cross Chop
-Thunderbolt
-Earthquake
-Flamethrower
People have said that Vire does the same job on the team as Infernape. But since Infernape is one of the best members on the team, I find it prudent to have a back up infernape in case Ape goes down. Vire switches in whenever an electric attack is coming (usually after Gyrados, but it could happen to anybody). Motor Drive lets him outspeed whoever did, the electric attack, and kill them. Also, Flamethrower hellps to take on Metagross, because even though Ape could do it, he goes down from Psychic.
dpmba130.png

Gyrados@ Life Orb
Adamant
Intimidate
6/ Hp/ 252 Atk/ 252 Spe
-Dragon Dance
-Ice Fang
-Waterfall
-Stone Edge
My Physical Sweeper. Dragon Dance Gyardos is a force to be reckoned with. He takes care of Dragonite, Salamence, Flygon, Garchomp, and Gliscor with Ice Fang. Stone Edge when going toe-to-toe with other Gyradoses. Waterfall to decimate everything else.
dpmba392.png

Infernape@ Expert Belt
Naive
Blaze
148 Atk/ 252 Spe/ 108 Sp Atk
-Flamethrower
-Close Combat
-Grass Knot
-Stone Edge
The founding father of my team. Late game mixed sweeper. I always try to save him untill the very last moment, and then beat what ever is left of the opposing team. My only grip is that I want to repalce Grass Knot with some thing with more oomph to it. Any suggestions?
That's my team, hope you like it. All photos from pokemonelite2000.com.

Good team, each member compliments the others, covering their resistances. You do tend to put commas unneedingly in the wrong places, though! :P

-I would recommend switching Scizor's item to Life orb, as Bullet Punch won't get many super effective hits, so it's better to just get the overall power.

-Most of those Pokemon that Ice Fang covers, are covered by other moves. Dragonite and Salamence are handled be Stone Edge. Garchomp is an Uber. And Gliscor is taken by Waterfall. For this reason I recommend a change to Earthquake. It allows you to hit Steels and Electrics. These include Jolteon, Magnezone and Metagross.

Hope I helped!

CM Latias and any Gengar that wins a speed tie with yours will sweep your team. Change Scizor to CBzor by giving it a Choice Band, Pursuit over Swords Dance, and Superpower over Brick Break.

IMO, that Bronzong lead is more or less an inferior Metagross. You take hits a bit better, but you lose out on a lot of offensive power and Explosion, which suits an offensive team such as this much better.

Scizor should use Life Orb or Leftovers instead of Expert Belt, you don't hit super effective often enough for Expert Belt to be worth it.

Gengar should drop Energy Ball for either HP Fire or Explosion, you already have Grass Knot on Infernape for Swampert.

On Gyarados, you could look at going with a bulkier spread and using Leftovers, as Gyara provides a number of useful resistences for the team, although the offensive Life Orb set is still extremely effective. Either way, replace Ice Fang with Earthquake for better coverage.

Electivire is fairly redundant here. As a mixed attacker, Infernape is both incredibly similar and much better as you said. If you want to keep the second mixed attacker, I'd suggest a MixMence, which is much more effective at breaking apart teams for the lategame sweep. Should you use one, I'd recommend the Naive 12 Atk/240 Sp Atk/252 Spe set with Draco Meteor, Fire Blast, and two moves out of Brick Break/Earthquake/Outrage/Roost.
Alternatively, you could run a Scarfed Salamence/Latias/Flygon in that slot that both gives you a reliable revenge killer, and in the case of Salamence and Latias, lets you fire off Draco Meteors to deal significant damage when needed.

I'm not sure that Stone Edge is worth using on Infernape, and is only going to be worth using to revenge kill Gyarados/Salamence that haven't got off a Dragon Dance. Gyarados is revenge killed better by Gengar, and Salamence would be dealt with better by HP Ice. Because of that I'd suggest going with an EV spread of 4 Atk/252 Sp Atk/252 Spe, and running HP Ice instead. Alternatively, you could run the Nasty Plot set, as you said Infernape is intended as a late game sweeper. U-turn is also a usable option, but HP Ice is almost always better. Fire Blast should be used over Flamethrower, while it's less accurate, the increased power is significant in managing a number of OHKO/2HKOs. Keep Grass Knot, it lets you deal with Swampert and Hippowdon, which otherwise wall you easily. Again, I'd recommend using Life Orb on Infernape, although that would give you a lot of Life Orb users, which builds up damage extremely quickly, although if anything, a different member of the team should give up Life Orb instead of Infernape.

Good luck.

Edit:
But if I'm stuck with CB, chances are I'll only get 1 KO. Pursuit is a good idea though
You already have Gyarados and Infernape, both of which are going to sweep better than Scizor most of the time, so losing the third potential late-game sweeper isn't a huge issue. CB Scizor is also considerably better at building up mid-game residual damage through U-turn, and revenge killing threats such as Salamence with Bullet Punch. If you want to keep the freedom to switch between attacks, you could try the bulkier set of Bullet Punch/Pursuit/U-turn/Roost that I've been using lately, which lets you switch in to revenge kill/scout with U-turn more regularly, as well as letting you Pursuit without fear of giving the opponent a free turn of setup

Pursuit can force your opponent into losing a part of their team they would have rather kept alive and safe? :O
Good team btw.

I replaced Ape with Vaporeon to add more bulk

Vaporeon@ Leftovers
Bold
Water Absorb
252 HP/ 56 SpAtk/ 200SpDef
-Wish
-Surf
-Ice Beam
-Protect

Pursuit can catch a lot of things that would rather run, such a Choice Gengar, Rotom, Starmie, or other things like Cresselia and Celebi.
With Technician, it's roughly as strong as CBTar's Pursuit. Over the two sets for Gengar and Scizor that you have, I'd recommend these:

Gengar @ Leftovers
Nature: Timid
EV's: 252 Sp. A, 252 Speed, 6 HP
-Shadow Ball
-Focus Blast
-Hidden Power [Fire]
-Substitute

Sub scouts many potential threats and allows Gengar a much easier time against them. Swampert and Gyarados are pretty much 2KO'd by Shadow Ball, so Thunderbolt and Energy Ball aren't necessary. With Substitute and HP Fire, you can kill Scizor, who wouldn't think twice about OHKO'ing you with Bullet Punch.

Scizor @ Choice Band
Nature: Adamant
EV's: 148 HP, 244 Atk, 8 Speed, 108 Sp. Def
-Bullet Punch
-U-Turn
-Pusuit
-Superpower

Bullet Punch and U-Turn are obvious, and Pursuit catches things on the switch, while Superpower is just if you need that extra bit of damage, because I'm pretty sure neutral Superpower does more than neutral U-Turn. Useful against things like Swampert and Machamp.
The spread deviates from the standard, but it achieves a lot more bulk than 248/252/8. This makes switching into resisted/neutral special hits a lot easier, and you can also survive a few weaker Hidden Power Fire's.

Also, just in general formatting, you don't want to super-bold the Pokemon @ Item part. It kind of conflicts with the rest of the text, and just looks messy.

I replaced Ape with Vaporeon to add more bulk

Vaporeon@ Leftovers
Bold
Water Absorb
252 HP/ 56 SpAtk/ 200SpDef
-Wish
-Surf
-Ice Beam
-Protect

If you want to add Vaporeon, drop Electivire. Infernape is the more useful of the two. Also, I'd recommend using the standard EV spread for physical bulk rather than special.

That unfortunately doesn't work too well anymore. Vaporeon is more likely to be hit be strong physical attacks than just Electric ones, as most physical blows can hit quite hard against it. Gyarados is what is used to draw Electric attacks, but I'm guessing you already know that.

Think about it this way: Gyarados is an offensive threat, and most teams have a defensive pokemon that needs type coverage in order to deal with it (because of lacking offensive stats), like Cresselia or Vaporeon. These dudes use HP Electric/Charge Beam because their defenses/typing allow them to take a hit and dish one back out with an Electric one.

Vaporeon is a defensive threat, and so attracts offensive switch-ins. Unlike defensive ones, these dudes are more powerful, and will strike with STAB or CB Close Combat, Outrage, Earthquake, Superpower, whatever, rather than with an Electric move, because of their power. I've used Vaporeon a lot...and very few times have I seen dudes attempt to strike it with Electric moves.

You could do with some extra Gyarados insurance, only Bronzong can take a hit from a +1 Gyarados with SR down and it sets up on Bronzong after it's put something to sleep and Scizor. Your best switch in is your own Gyarados.

I'd recommend Scarf Rotom in the slot of Electivire, giving you a decent switch into Zapdos, revenge killing +1 Gyarados and Tricking Blissey which will screw it when facing your own Gengar as it can't Wish stall as well (particularly if you go with Hypnosis on Gar).

Just noticed Expert Belt on Scizor, the coverage from Bullet Punch which is your primary attack isn't good enough to take advantage of Expert Belt so just go with Life Orb or Leftovers.
