Tapu Fini's great bulk, excellent defensive typing, access to utility moves like Defog and Knock Off, and its ability in Misty Surge all combine to make it a good defensive Pokemon in National Dex. Tapu Fini's good bulk and typing allow it to become an great check to top tier Pokemon such as Hydreigon, Heatran, and Volcarona. Scald might seem counterintuitive with Misty Surge, but it allows Tapu Fini to burn Pokemon such as Landorus-T and Corviknight that are not affected by Misty Terrain, as well as Rillaboom on the switch. Knock Off allows Tapu Fini to cripple Pokemon that rely on their item that might try to switch in, such as Tangrowth, Toxapex, Ferrothorn, and Zapdos. Tapu Fini has a serviceable matchup against common Stealth Rock setters like Heatran, Hippowdon, and Mega Tyranitar, which makes it a reliable Defogger. Taunt can be used over Knock Off in order to shut down Toxapex, prevent Volcarona from setting up on Tapu Fini, and prevent Pokemon like Clefable from freely setting entry hazards. However, Knock Off’s wide range of notable targets makes it a generally more consistent option. 12 Special Attack EVs allow Tapu Fini to 2HKO offensive Heatran with Scald, while 192 Speed EVs allows it to outrun Modest Heatran. The rest of the EVs are dumped into Special Defense in order to bolster Tapu Fini's matchup against the likes of Heatran, Volcarona, and Hydreigon.

Tapu Fini often finds its place on balance teams, as they appreciate its ability to remove entry hazards while also acting as a very solid check to threats such as Heatran and Hydreigon. Tapu Fini has rather mediocre physical bulk, and it can't effectively take on physical attackers such as Mega Mawile, Cinderace, Mega Lopunny, and Garchomp. The likes of Hippowdon and physically defensive Tangrowth can check most of these examples. Tangrowth synergizes particularly well with Tapu Fini, as it is also a capable check to Kartana. Heatran is another exemplary partner, as it takes pressure off of Tapu Fini to check Volcarona and takes advantage of the presence of Ferrothorn and Toxapex, both of which are problematic to Tapu Fini. Pokemon that dislike being inflicted by a status condition appreciate Tapu Fini setting Misty Terrain. Examples include Pokemon like Garchomp, Mega Mawile, and Kartana that can be crippled by Scald burns, as well as Pokemon like Kyurem and Volcarona that can easily be worn down by Toxic.

Tapu Fini's great bulk, great defensive typing, access to utility moves like Defog and Knock Off, and its ability Misty Terrain all combine to make it a top Pokemon in National Dex. Tapu Fini's good bulk and typing allow it to become an excellent check to threatening Pokemon such as Ash-Greninja, Hydreigon, and Choice Scarf Galarian Darmanitan. In addition, it can keep hazards off against common hazard setters like Ash-Greninja, specially defensive Heatran, and Hippowdon. -You state this later on as well, no need to say something that boils down to the same thing- Scald might seem counterintuitive with Misty Surge , but it allows Tapu Fini to burn Pokemon such as Landorus-T and Corviknight that are not affected by the terrain. In addition, Tapu Fini will often Defog its own terrain away, which will allow Scald to burn all targets once again -I think the notion of Tapu Fini 'often using Defog' is a little weird as it cannot really be applied to every single match. You may mention something along the lines of 'in case Tapu Fini has used Defog, it will be able to burn targets with Scald'-. Knock Off allows Tapu Fini to cripple Pokemon that rely on their item -fluff- that might try to switch in, such as Assault Vest Tangrowth, Rotom-H, and Zapdos -Rocky Helmet Tangrowth variants may seek to pivot in as well, Rotom-H should never seek to pivot into a Tapu Fini; Ferrothorn and Toxapex must be mentioned-. Defog allows Tapu Fini to remove hazards. -obviously- It Tapu Fini has a great matchup against the common Spikes setter Ash-Greninja, and a serviceable matchup against other very common Stealth Rock setters like Heatran, Hippowdon, and Mega Tyranitar, which makes Tapu Fini a very reliable defogger. Taunt can be used over Knock Off in order to shut down Toxapex and prevent Pokemon like Clefable from freely setting hazards, however Knock Off’s wide range of notable targets makes it a generally more consistent option -I think the fact that Taunt allows Tapu Fini to more reliably check Volcarona is worthy of a mention as well, as it will commonly be the main Volcarona check in a team-. 12 Special Attack EVs allows Tapu Fini to 2HKO offensive Heatran with Scald, while 192 Speed EVs allows it to outrun Modest Heatran. The rest is dumped into Special Defense in order to bolster Tapu Fini's matchup against the likes of Ash-Greninja and Hydreigon -Volcarona and Heatran as well-.

Tapu Fini often finds its place on balance teams, as they appreciate its ability to Defog while also acting as a very solid check to threats such as Ash-Greninja and Hydreigon -Galarian Darmanitan should definitely be rementioned-. Tapu Fini has rather mediocre physical bulk, and it can be overwhelmed quickly from attacks from the likes of Mega Metagross, Mega Lopunny, and Garchomp -Mega Metagross should never be getting an opportunity to overwhelm Tapu Fini at all, Galarian Darmanitan would make more sense. Another solution would be to say that it cannot take on physical attackers very well, instead of stating it gets overwhelmed by them-. Physically Defensive Tangrowth is an absolutely excellent partner as a result, as it checks all of these and has generally good type synergy with Tapu Fini. It also appreciates Tapu Fini's special bulk shoring up its matchup against threats such as Ash-Greninja, Volcarona, and specially defensive Heatran. Such a defensive pairing is unfortunately weak to a couple of common threats, such as Grassium Z Heatran and Rotom-H -you may easily add Tornadus-T to this list-. Therefore, a check to these is also recommended, which can range from your own Rotom-H to Hydreigon or Garchomp. Rotom-H is an especially good partner, as it takes some pressure off of Tapu Fini to check Galarian Darmanitan, who will eventually overwhelm Tapu Fini thanks to Tapu Fini's lack of a recovery option outside of Leftovers. Tapu Fini is a great Ash-Greninja check, but switching into it repeatedly will eventually wear Tapu Fini down. As such, a secondary way of dealing with it is very helpful. This can take the form of a secondary defensive answer such as Nasty Plot+Roost Hydreidon or a Choice Scarfer that can pressure Ash-Greninja, such as Galarian Darmanitan or Hydreigon.
-Heatran warrants a mention as well, as it takes pressure off by checking Volcarona, and royally abuses Ferrothorn, and Toxapex if running Magma Storm. Pokemon that can take advantage of Ferrothorn in particular are important to mention, since it can easily use Tapu Fini as an opportunity to lay Spikes, which is especially troublesome since Tapu Fini cannot Defog these away. Toxapex is similarly troublesome if Tapu Fini does not carry Taunt-

Tapu Fini's great bulk, excellent defensive typing, access to utility moves like Defog and Knock Off, and its ability Misty Surge all combine to make it an excellent defensive Pokemon in National Dex. Tapu Fini's good bulk and typing allow it to become an great check to threatening Pokemon such as Ash-Greninja, Hydreigon, and Choice Scarf Galarian Darmanitan. Heatran definitely has to be mentioned here, it's one of the most important reasons to run Tapu Fini alongside the Pokemon already mentioned. Scald might seem counterintuitive with Misty Surge, but it allows Tapu Fini to burn Pokemon such as Landorus-T and Corviknight that are not affected by the terrain. In addition, Tapu Fini will Defog its own terrain away in cases where it needs to remove hazards, which will allow Scald to burn all targets once again. This is a cool interaction, but it doesn't come into play very often because Tapu Fini's often forced out the turn after it uses Defog. Knock Off allows Tapu Fini to cripple Pokemon that rely on their item that might try to switch in, such as Tangrowth, Toxapex, Ferrothorn, and Zapdos. Defog allows Tapu Fini to remove hazards. It has a great matchup against the common Spikes setter Ash-Greninja, and a serviceable matchup against other very common Stealth Rock setters like Heatran, Hippowdon, and Mega Tyranitar, which makes Tapu Fini a very reliable defogger. Taunt can be used over Knock Off in order to shut down Toxapex, prevent Volcarona from setting up constantly on Tapu Fini, and prevent Pokemon like Clefable from freely setting hazards. However, Knock Off’s wide range of notable targets makes it a generally more consistent option. 12 Special Attack EVs allows Tapu Fini to 2HKO offensive Heatran with Scald, while 192 Speed EVs allows it to outrun Modest Heatran. The rest is dumped into Special Defense in order to bolster Tapu Fini's matchup against the likes of Ash-Greninja, Heatran, Volcarona, and Hydreigon.

Therefore, a check to these is also recommended, which can range from your own Rotom-H to Hydreigon or Garchomp. I'm not a big fan of only suggesting Rotom-H as a Tornadus-T check here, as it is a pretty mediocre check. I would like to see another Tornadus-T check mentioned here too, such as Mega Tyranitar or Magearna. Rotom-H is an especially good partner, as it takes some pressure off of Tapu Fini to check Galarian Darmanitan, who will eventually overwhelm Tapu Fini thanks to Tapu Fini's lack of a recovery option outside of Leftovers. Heatran is another exemplary partner, as it takes pressure off of Tapu Fini to check Volcarona and abuses the presence of both Ferrothorn and Toxapex, who are both problematic to Tapu Fini.

The synergy between offensive Pokemon such as Mega Metagross and Garchomp with Misty Terrain really should be mentioned here. With Misty Terrain, they can consistently switch into Pokemon like Toxapex without the fear of getting burned, which is great.

(lmk if you want this sentence to be expressed differently, the original sounded awkward considering that it was following up from the previous sentence)
