Tapu Fini @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Misty Surge
EVs: 252 HP / 116 SpD / 140 Spe
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Whirlpool
- Moonblast
- Nature's Madness
- Trick
Choice Scarf and Whirlpool Tapu Fini have both existed as separate staples of bulky offense for months, but this special set combines the two, providing unique team support as an excellent trapper with solid utility from its defensive typing and movepool. Trick, Nature's Madness, and Whirlpool cripple and trap common defensive staples such as Toxapex, Blissey, and Clefable to open up opportunities for its teammates. Trick alongside Choice Scarf is also great at disrupting sweeps from Pokemon like Volcarona; it also lets Tapu Fini trap Shed Shell users, most notably Toxapex. This set lets Tapu Fini double as a revenge killer in an offensive matchup, handling Pokemon like Urshifu-R and Adamant Weavile, while trapping Pokemon when facing more passive teams. After using Trick, the Speed EVs allow Tapu Fini to outspeed Adamant Bisharp, while the remaining EVs are dumped into Special Defense to best check Dragapult and Heatran. This set best pairs with Pokemon such as Urshifu-R, Weavile, and Victini, which greatly appreciate the removal of walls such as Toxapex.
