Tapu Koko @ Choice Specs
Ability: Electric Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power Ice
- Dazzling Gleam
- Volt Switch

Tapu Koko's surge through National Dex comes amidst the fall of Blissey and Ferrothorn, with teams often employing only Landorus-T, Gliscor, or Garchomp as the Electric-type check. Hidden Power Ice removes them, allowing Tapu Koko to spam its Electric-type attacks, which when combined with its high Speed and Electric Terrain, makes it a terrifying offensive pivot. Volt Switch maintains momentum, whereas Dazzling Gleam hits Electric-resistant foes such as Hydreigon, Mega Latias, and Rillaboom. Teammates like Mega Mawile, Mega Lopunny, Mega Medicham, and Hawlucha pressure opposing Grass- and Ground-type Pokemon for Tapu Koko. Entry hazard support also helps Tapu Koko break through Ferrothorn, Amoonguss, and Gastrodon long-term. In particular, Ash-Greninja's Spikes support is invaluable to wear them down. Other entry hazard setters like Landorus-T and Garchomp appreciate Tapu Koko’s ability to threaten Tapu Fini and Corviknight, keeping their entry hazards up. Tapu Koko struggles with revenge killers like Choice Scarf Landorus-T and Mega Lopunny, so bring a partner like Tangrowth or Corviknight to check these Pokemon.

Tapu Koko's surge through the National Dex metagame comes amidst the fall of Blissey and Ferrothorn, with teams often employing only Landorus-T, Gliscor, or Garchomp as the Electric-type check. These Pokemon are vulnerable to Tapu Koko's Hidden Power Ice. Removing removing the Ground-type them on a team can also frees up Tapu Koko to spam its Electric-type attacks, which, in conjunction with its high speed and Electric Terrain, makes it a terrifying offensive pivot. Dazzling Gleam hits most Electric-resists such as Hydreigon, Mega Latias, Tangrowth, and Rillaboom, while Volt Switch maintains momentum. I would move the Volt Switch point to the start of the sentence followed by the Dazzling Gleam point mainly to be a good transition on the pivot point mentioned at the end of the previous sentence. Also would emphasize the huge momentum lost with volt Switching on Ground-types. Teammates like Mega Mawile, Mega Lopunny, Mega Medicham, and Hawlucha all pressure opposing Grass- and Ground-type Pokemon for Tapu Koko. Entry hazard support also helps Tapu Koko break through Ferrothorn, Amoonguss, and Gastrodon long-term. In particular, Ash-Greninja’s Spikes support is invaluable. Elaborate a little on why it's spikes in particular are invaluable. Other entry hazard setters like Landorus-T and Garchomp appreciate Tapu Koko’s ability to threaten Tapu Fini and Corviknight, keeping their entry hazards up. Tapu Koko struggles with revenge killers like Choice Scarf Landorus-T and Mega Lopunny, so be sure to bring an offensive partner like Hawlucha to pressure these Pokemon. I don't really like the Hawlucha mention here since it has one time use of outspeeding either of them, and is usually not brought out til the mid to end game, dont have much other speedy options to mention though so I guess your better off listing defensive partners for them.
great content! you were barely off the word limit so tag me on disc if this is over or any other issues.
