Team Forretress 2 (OU RMT)

Hi, thanks for looking at my team, nobody is reading this so I'll just post the team now.

Yes, it's TF2 themed.

-----------------------------------
At a glance:

-----------------------------------
Building process:

I wanted to use my lead Dragonite set in an offensive team, so it was first.

I chose a good Steel-type for appropriate synergy. Heatran, running SR, was the choice.

I love Scarf Flygon to bits, so it went straight in.

Scizor makes a great partner for Flygon, so it joined the crew.

My team could do with a setup sweeper now, so I went for Gyarados.

Celebi adds many valuable resistances to my team, and it found a place quickly.

-----------------------------------

Dragonite (The Demoman) @ Life Orb
Quiet / Inner Focus
232 Atk / 252 SpA / 24 Spe
- Draco Meteor
- Fire Blast
- Superpower
- Extremespeed

"They'll have to glue you back together....in hell!"

This thing is an absolutely brilliant anti-lead. I consider it my pride and joy, especially considering I helped make it on #stark so long ago. Draco Meteor wrecks shit, 2HKOing lead Swampert and devastating any lead which isn't Steel-type. Superpower and Fire Blast come in here, taking out Pokemon who can't be KOed with DM. Extremespeed is used to pick off Focus Sashers and to revenge should Dragonite survive into late game.

Common leads:

Azelf - Draco Meteor + Extremespeed. Dual Screen variants are sometimes OHKOed by DM if they use Reflect first.
Metagross - Fire Blast.
Swampert - 2HKO with Draco Meteor.
Jirachi - Fire Blast.
Aerodactyl - Draco Meteor + Extremespeed.
Infernape - Draco Meteor + Extremespeed. Leadape doesn't run HP [Ice] very often.
Roserade - Extremespeed, expecting Sleep Powder. Spikes variants are 2HKOed.
Heatran: KO with Superpower.
T-Tar: Superpower.
Gliscor: Draco Meteor, then either switch or E-Speed depending on how much health it has left.
Celebi: Fire Blast.
Machamp: Draco Meteor + Superpower or Extremespeed.
Smeargle: Extremespeed 2HKOes; if it uses Spore, swap to Scizor.
Weavile: Extremespeed.

Celebi (The Engineer) @ Leftovers
Modest / Natural Cure
252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA
- Leaf Storm
- Recover
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- U-Turn

"Ya use gun. And if that doesn't work? Use more gun."

Celebi is an incredible sweeper under the right circumstances. Leaf Storm does absurd amounts of damage, and the SpA drop isn't that important. HP [Fire] kills Scizor and Forretress, who otherwise set up on Celebi or KO it. U-Turn helps Celebi get away from Scizor and non-Scarf T-Tar.

Gyarados (The Heavy) @ Leftovers
Adamant / Intimidate
156 HP / 72 Atk / 96 Def / 184 Spe
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake

"Some people say they can outsmart me. I have yet to see anyone who can outsmart
bullet boolet."

I've changed my Gyarados' EVs to a faster but still bulky set. Waterfall is the obvious STAB move, Earthquake and Stone Edge give me brilliant coverage, and DD lets me boost my Attack to an insane level.

Heatran (The Pyro) @ Shuca Berry
Naive / Flash Fire
4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
- Flamethrower
- Earth Power
- Explosion
- Stealth Rock

"Mmph!"

This Heatran set specialises in the midgame, setting up SR while forcing out an opponent who expects a Scarfed Heatran to revenge one of their Pokemon. The moves are fairly standard, with Dragon Pulse dropped for Explosion in this Latias-free metagame.

Flygon (The Scout) @ Choice Scarf
Jolly / Levitate
4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Thunderpunch
- U-Turn

"If you came from where I came from, you'd be dead!"

Ah, the joys of Scarf Flygon, the best scout and one of the best revenge killers in the game. The moveset is fairly obvious, and I swapped Fire Punch for Thunderpunch to revenge kill Gyarados. Jolly lets me beat +1 neutral Spe Mence (or tie with +Spe) and OHKO with Outrage.

Scizor (The Sniper) @ Choice Band
Adamant / Technician
- Bullet Punch
- U-Turn
- Pursuit
- Superpower

*flicks*

"Boom. Headshot."

Scizor. I don't think I need to explain this to you by now, it's the most used Pokemon in the metagame.

-----------------------------------

Threat list:

Vaporeon - If Celebi has been taken out, this stalls out my entire team, unless Scizor is the last Pokemon and I can U-Turn it to death.
Suicune - quite capable of getting CMs up. Celebi can cause severe damage to it even at +1, but I don't want to use Grass Knot because of the aforementioned Vaporeon.
Salamence - I might as well mention it. While easily revenged, it normally KOs at least one Pokemon (normally Gyarados as death fodder) and can be a major problem.
Metagross - On the receiving end of a Ninjask's Baton Pass, this tears my team to pieces.

-----------------------------------

Thanks for rating my team!

Hello. You definitely need some Speed EVs on Gyarados. Without them, you don't even outspeed base 100s after a Dragon Dance which is outright pathetic. The bulky Gyarados EV spread gives you quite a bit of bulk but still attacking power and some Speed. That would be 156 HP / 72 Atk / 96 Def / 184 Spe with an Adamant nature. Fire Punch is fairly pointless on Scarf Flygon, as it won't 2HKO Skarmory, which is the reason to use a Fire-move in the first place. For this reason, I suggest replacing it with ThunderPunch. This gives you a revenge killing tool against enemy Gyarados, and you outspeed even Jolly Gyara after a Dragon Dance. On Celebi, I would certainly replace Energy Ball with Leaf Storm, which packs an insane amount of power for one attack. It does a considerably higher amount of damage to Rotom-A, Tyranitar, and Gyarados, and since Celebi is often going to be forced out by Heatran (whom you do not outspeed, making Earth Power less useful), you can afford the drop in Special Attack. Instead of Earth Power, you can try U-turn, which helps you scout switch ins and escape Scizor's or non-Scarf Tyranitar's Pursuit. Without Latias in the metagame, the main reason to use Dragon Pulse on Heatran would be for the uncommon Kingdra. However, you hit much more Pokemon harder with Explosion. This can prevent a Gyarados or a Salamence from setting up on you, while pulverizing Blissey. Good luck.

I would also recommend a small investment of speed on Dragonite. Around 24 speed, at the expense of attack, will let you outrun most lead Metagross, though of course more can be run to outrun faster Metagross and other threats. You may also wish to consider Superpower over Earthquake, as this will let you OHKO lead Heatran (EQ misses out due to Shuca) and Tyranitar, as well as Blissey when wall-breaking later in the battle. Fire Blast should do sufficient damage to most common steels.

Your Evs are missing for Scizor - presuming 248hp 252atk 8spe?

Good luck.

Whats the point of dragonite as an antilead if it doesnt beat most leads. A suicide leads job is to :
1. Stop the rocks
2. Set up rocks

Dragonite has no stealth rock so 1 is already done. dragonite cannot taunt, nor has fake out, and is pretty slow so he doesn't do number two. Even if dragonite kills them they still did their job and they get a free switch in to a dragonite counter. I highly suggest thinking about changing your lead to something else.

oh yea, you have a physically based mixape weakness. 4/6 are OHKO'd by him and gyarados and flygon are seriously maimed by him.

Banned deucer.
How would you get haxed by jirachi if dragonite can't be flinched.... I doubt you have much experience with this game. Also try thunder wave on celebi because most of your members are slow and appreciate paralysis support. Whatever, good luck...

Sprinkles, I was tired when I wrote this stuff up and forgot about Inner Focus. I am new to actual play, but I've been around here for a while. *points to join date*

This team is too offensive to be throwing Thunder Wave around. SR is only there because it's all but mandatory.

Itchni, Dragonite isn't a true anti-lead, but it kills the opponent's lead, and gives me some advantage.

Also, thank you jc104.

Just a nitpick, you said that your Dragonite can Fire Blast Jirachi if it doesn't gt haxxed to death. Well Inner Focus prevents you from getting haxxed to death! Yay! Might consider Stone Edge over Thunderpunch for +1 Mence. Why? You get locked into Outrage, hey Mamo/Weavile/Scizor comes in and Priority Whores you to death. Not fun.

Um, I just said that.

Anyway, lead Jirachi tends to just Ice Punch me to death these days. Blargh.

Thunderpunch is there to revenge Gyarados. Mence has one foot in the Uber-grave, and Stone Edge is about as reliable as something which isn't very reliable.

A SUICIDE lead is supposed to die. What dragonite does if gives your opponent a free turn to scare off dragonite or set up.

okay i've looked over the team and the comments and really i agree with everything being said. you have a MAJOR nape weakness. I would suggest a suicide azelf lead with psychic SR taunt explosion with focus sash so in case lead ape uturns you you can set up SR and hang on with focus sash then explode or psychic the next pokemon plus taunt can prevent annoying smeargle and roserades from setting up on your buttox. seriously that dragonite lead is fail too slow, too weak, too many moves that easily kill it. ice punch or ice beam from swampert is all it takes. And you left out weavile leads which are still around and could ice shard you to the next century.

I highly advice changing your lead. also whats the point of limiting your attack on your gyara if you can't take advantage of the defensive points. if you want a bulky gyara you need to hav subtaunt twave waterfall so you can stall out annoying pests such as HP electric vap and milotic or machamp. And i would put the attack EVs into spdef to give that extra assurance during sub.

otherwise the team isn't bad
