Team High-Five! (RMT)

This is a mainly offensive team I have been using on Shoddy with good results. So please rate and comment. Going to bring it to my actual game as soon as I finish tweaking it.

infernape.png

Infernape @ Focus Sash
Timid Nature - Blaze
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 6 HP

-Counter / Taunt
-Endeavor
-Stealth Rocks
-Vacuum Wave

A nifty lead designed by me to set up rocks and cripple at least part of their team. The basic idea is use Stealth Rocks first turn. At this point Sash will be activated, they switch in a counter, or they set up rocks themselves. I then Counter or Endeavor appropriately and kill it with Vacuum Wave (if Endeavor was used). Guarantees Rocks up and usually cripples a pokemon with him. I am thinking of taunt to ease prediction with Endeavor. Although this moveset has been created by me, it was inspired by Ceramic in the new and creative moveset thread.

zapdos.png

Zapdos @ Leftovers
Calm Nature - Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 232 Def / 24 Spe

-Thunderbolt
-Heat Wave
-HP Grass
-Roost

Zapdos gets good coverage with these moves and can take a hit. Also is an extremely reliable counter for Scizor, resisting his STAB moves and Brick Break which he normally tows around with him and OHKOs back with Heat Wave. Can successfully hurt many pokemon in the game, with HP Grass for grounds, especially Swampert who doesn't expect it.

vaporeon.png

Vaporeon @ Leftovers
Bold Nature - Water Absorb
EVs: 188 HP / 252 Def / 68 SpA

-Surf
-Ice Beam
-HP Electric
-Wish

My Infernape, Gyarados, Salamence (and dragon-types in general) and Heatran counter. Can do quite a bit of damage and has the advantage of Wish passing over Starmie, who also can't counter Heatran as well. Fits well with the offensive purpose of my team being able to take hits and dish them out at the same time.

heatran.png

Heatran @ Choice Scarf
Modest Nature - Flash Fire
EVs: 6 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spd

-Fire Blast
-Earth Power
-HP Ice
-Explosion

A beast, plain and simple. Revenge kills for my team and has awesome typing to help my team resist many attacks that can plague this team. I don't think there is much to explain here, pretty much a staple now-a-days.

metagross.png

Metagross @ Shuca Berry
Adamant Nature - Clear Body
EVs: 152 HP / 252 Atk / 104 Spe

-Meteor Mash
-Earthquake
-Thunderpunch
-Agility

Agiligross. I use Shuca Berry so that Hippowdon and other Ground-Type walls can't counter him as well as they think they can. This gives Metagross the ability to at the very least, cripple a physical wall. Has Thunderpunch to help Heatran out with Bulky Waters as I deploy Metagross pretty fast in most games.

salamence.png

Salamence @ Life Orb
Adamant Nature - Intimidate
EVs: 120 HP / 252 Atk / 136 Spe

-Outrage
-Dragon Dance
-Earthquake
-Fire Blast

My late-game sweeper. Pretty simple, but incredibly devastating. Outrage for a tremendous STAB attack, Earthquake for coverage and Fire Blast for Skarm. I use Life Orb because it almost guarantees the OHKO on Skarm with stealth rocks up.

OK, I made a lot of changes to this team with the only pokemon that stayed the same being Zapdos and Infernape. Please continue to rate.

Why is that?

I usually sleep on the switch anyways to take out her counter and she can outspeed and sleep things my team can't deal with too easily.

Right, but after Sleep Powdering with a scarf on, you're then basically forced to switch, as you're not going to be able to sleep something else. This kind of negates the advantage of getting a Sleep on them in the first place.

Interesting lead I must say, pretty useful, so kudos on that.

Onto the team, you seem to have trouble taking certain attacks. Tyranitar comes to mind quickly, as you have no resist for a CB Crunch (Infernape doesn't count lol...). Zapdos as the core of your defense isn't helping much either with the two common weaknesses it has. Heatran isn't too pleasing to this team either, as only Gyarados resists Fire Blast, and Jirachi won't have a chance to wish since it dies to Fire Blast (Gyarados can take 2 IIRC if SR is up).

Here's an idea, a Heatran of your own would be really suitable in Roserade's slot! Can take Crunches for the team, and has nice synergy with Jirachi's weaknesses (watch out for Earthquake). Slap a Choice Scarf onto Heatran and you have the revenge killer in the last slot that you just lost, but that adds a ton more resistances to the team that you could utilize. SubSkymin seems annoying as well to this team, and Heatran can nullify that weakness to an extent as well.

Continuing on what Twist of Fate said. A Heatran could really help out your team, and should be considered over Roserade. And I think a bulky water pokemon could fit over Azelf to give you a nice Salamence/Gyarados counter, seeing as it can do some major damage with a DD. I would reccoment a Vaporeon/Suicune/Slowbro in that slot. Vaporeon can give you some Wish support, and can help your team out. Suicune can come in and give a great offensive presence while mainting some defense, and last but not least Slowbro can take hits like a champion. He can scare off a lot of common physical threats, has access to a wide variety of moves, and can recover. I could see any of these 3 helping your team out, it really just depends on your preference. One other option is you can run a Salamence over Gyarados for that little Jirachi/Salamence/Heatran combo. Resisting all but Electric.

Adamant @ Life Orb
~intimidate
- Dragon Dance
- Earhtquake
- Outrage/Dragon Claw
- Roost/Fire Fang/Fire Blast

Listed from most preferred to least preferred.

Infernape/Vaporeon/Jirachi/Zapdos/Salamence or Gyarados/Heatran

Other than that little nitpick it seems like you have a very solid team and not much can trouble it.

Hope you take what I've got to say into consideration. Good luck and have a good day!

OK, for Salamence, should I go for more bulky EVs or straight up attacking EVs?

I guess I will replace Roserade, is there any other option besides ScarfTran though? Because I see him everywhere, but I guess that doesn't mean I don't have to use him.

I suppose I can replace Azelf, maybe a Curse Slowking? I'll look into that and post changes most likely latter today.

Bulky and Attacking both would work fine. I have a personal preference for offensive, but it's totally up to you. I see offensive doing better in this metagame though, so I would say offensive. And I really see Heatran as being your best bet in the last spot, but if you don't want to use it maybe try a bulky water. Suicune/Milotic/Vaporeon/Slowbro could work.

I am thinking of foregoing Azelf as he is just too fragile for a bulky water (Vaporeon probably because I can stop a lot of threats with one of those)

What should I put in instead of Jirachi now that Vaporeon can Wish-Pass?

Id like to point out that your lead is promptly countered by Azelf(who iirc is faster) when it taunts. You then have to use VWave and die to Psychic or switch. This would allow them to get a SR up.
On Azelf, Why not Explosion? Flamethrower and Thunderbolt with Zen Headbutt gives coverage, and when youre low on HP, BOOM.
Jirachi: I think giving it more EV's in HP would help take hits better. You could go for T-Wave (if it learns it) with Zen, to give the opponent slim chance of attacking. It could work as a support with T-Wave Zen Wish U-Turn.
Zapdos: I think you should add more SpA evs, it might allow you to get some stuff for OHKO
Gyara: Fine.
Roserade: Fine as well, Sleep Powder is OK, i dont see why other people disagree. Afterall, ScarfGar used to be a scarf - hypnosis user....

Its a quite solid team overall, cant think of immediately threats.
Good Luck!!

I am going to switch my team around, so any idea of what I should use as an attacker in place of Jirachi?

EDIT: Testing my team on Shoddy now, I am using Agiligross instead of Jirachi for the same typing, better defense, and the ability to take out Bulky Waters that hinder Heatran

They both can be good, Mamoswine is slower though which really hinders him in this case.

Mamoswine does have an unresisted (by resisted I mean doesn't effect) STAB priority move though.

Infernape is often scarier to many people because they don't know what type of Infernape it is...
